A Fall from Grace, a Touch of Hope

Grandpa Tom Tou, a sprightly 64-year-old, found himself in a predicament. A tumble from his rooftop, a mere 4 meters high, resulted in a broken arm. As our mission trip group arrived to visit, we were prepared to offer him not just spiritual support but also some much-needed hydrotherapy.

We had already been there once before, showering Grandpa Tom with prayers and offering comfort. This time, however, the sight that greeted us was a sight of concern. His left arm was encased in a makeshift cast of white cloth, a telltale sign of the recent accident.

With a warm smile, Grandpa Tom recounted a week prior, he’d climbed onto the roof, confident in the sturdiness of the wood. As he hammered a nail, securing a piece of wood in place, a sickening crack echoed. The wood beneath him had given way.

The fall was brutal. The force of the impact shattered his arm with a sickening snap, and the unforgiving ground added insult to injury, bruising his hip from a collision with a rock.

Despite the pain, a flicker of joy lit up his eyes as we began his hydrotherapy treatment which was bookended by heartfelt prayers. This was the best we could do to ease his discomfort.

Before leaving his humble abode, we prayed once more for the complete restoration of his health and a swift recovery from his broken arm and hip. But more importantly, we prayed that God would touch his heart, opening it to the possibility of accepting Jesus as his personal Savior.

Thank you for your gifts! YOU have made it possible for ASAP medical missionaries to share Jesus’ love and healing with the unreached.

Leading with Love: A Mission Trip to Cambodia

Leading a mission trip to Cambodia was both an honor and a challenge. As my first experience with a Southeast Asian mission, I found solace in God’s reassuring promise to Joshua: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9, NIV).

On May 27, ASAP staff and 11 volunteers from the United States and Canada traveled to Takong Village in Cambodia. Our mission was to complete ASAP’s first High School, conduct a Vacation Bible School (VBS) for the elementary students at Takong, and share the gospel by inviting members of the community to some very special evangelistic meetings.

Witnessing the joy and hope on the children’s faces during VBS was truly inspiring. A heartfelt note from a seventh-grade student, Ouch Sokheng, deeply touched me, “Jesus loves me, I love my mum and

Suicide to Salvation

Life had become too much for Pim*. Ending her own life felt like the only way out. Pim logged onto social media and typed up a post of hopelessness and

dad, and you”. Love, the core of our mission, was vividly demonstrated through Ouch Sokheng’s experience. Her newfound faith in Jesus inspired her to extend love to her family and others.

Thanks to your generosity, the construction of Takong Adventist High School was completed, providing students like Ouch Sokheng with the opportunity to continue their education and shine as beacons of Jesus’ love in their community. May God bless and replenish every resource used to spread the gospel to those in need.

despair and about her suicidal plans. Across town, ASAP worker Bai* was scrolling and saw the post. She didn’t know Pim was her follower and had never actually met Pim. But Pim’s post pulled Bai’s heart. Bai immediately reached out; she messaged and then called Pim. She sang Christian songs and shared encouragement from the Bible before finally praying over the phone with Pim. Before ending the call, Bai invited Pim to accept Jesus as her Savior.

Some days later, Bai was able to meet Pim and give her a Bible. They prayed together, and Pim learned to pray on her own. Since then, God has answered many of Pim’s prayers, reassuring her that He loves and cares for her. Bai thanks God for showing her Pim’s post on social media and for the opportunity to serve Him. Thank you for supporting ASAP church planters — your generosity is transforming lives!

Prayer Changes Lives

Vu A Lau, is one of ASAP’s missionaries, living and working with Hmong youth in Vietnam. A few weeks ago, he excitedly shared with us how God has been working in the heart and life of a young man named Ly A Say.

“Please, please won’t you come with me to church today?” begged Ly A Say’s mother, a faithful church member. His mother’s words fell on deaf ears. Addicted to video games, all he could think of was the next step in his game. His father, Vu Va Ky, a district pastor, also pleaded with him, “My son, God loves you, and we miss you at church, please will you come with us to church this week.” Over and over, his parents encouraged him to return to God, but Ly A Say’s heart was like a stone and would not be moved.

Thanks to donors like you, Vu A Lau was able to attend our ASAP Training where we encouraged him to use a Gospel Missionary Activity Journal. On returning home, he wrote down La A Say’s name as

Miracle in Myanmar

ASAP supported Ta Nam Hsang* mission school is located in Myanmar’s South East Mission. It continually faces significant challenges due to ongoing war in the area. Aside from ground warfare, airstrikes are a very real threat. To protect the students, teachers and villagers have dug safety shelters for the children to hide in during bombings, and bomb drills are a regular part of their education. ASAP teachers and their students pray daily for God’s protection over their lives and their school. Despite their dire circumstances, their faith remains strong, believing that God is guiding and protecting them, enabling them to continue their education.

one of the people he really wanted to reach. Daily he prayed for him and recorded it in his journal. A month later, he went to visit La A Say. Previously La A Say had rejected his visits, but this time they had a good visit, and he God’s Word and prayed with him. As he was leaving, Vu A Lau said, “La A Say, we miss you and would love to have you come back to church again, please won’t you come?”

With great happiness, Vu A Lau shared, “My heart was filled with joy and praise to God when, that very next Sabbath, La A Say arrived for Sabbath worship!” Thank you for being part of the ASAP family! Your gifts make it possible for ASAP church planters to receive training and reach people in their communities for Jesus.

During the last rainy season, the village and our ASAP school ran out of rice to eat. There were no sellers nearby, and due to the war, the roads to the village were closed. On the brink of starvation, the teachers and students gathered, knelt together, and earnestly prayed, “Dear God, You know that we are hungry and have run out of rice to eat. You have promised to supply our needs, please will you provide us with the rice we need. Thank you for what you will do.” Miraculously, within three days, their prayers were answered, and they received the much-needed food, providing relief for their dire situation.

YOU can make a difference by supporting ASAP Ministries’ education fund for schools like these. Will you partner with God and ASAP ministries to give children food, education, and hope in the midst of difficult circumstances?

Thank You for Being All In

ASAP Ministries is praying fervently and working diligently for the salvation of precious souls across Southeast Asia.

It is incredible to me that the news of Jesus’s second coming is ripe to circle the globe, but in some parts of the world today, especially in Southeast Asia, many have never heard of Jesus’ first coming or even the name of Jesus. There are still vast stretches of land without church planters, medical missionaries, schools, or even one Christian. There is a large work that is yet to be finished.

WAYS TO GIVE

Education is one of the most significant ways we can reach these people. ASAP Ministries has the privilege of supporting more than 90 schools in Southeast Asia. Over 9,000 students are being taught about the love of Jesus by dedicated local ASAP missionary teachers.

During our recent mission trip to Cambodia to complete ASAP’s first high school, it was wonderful to witness the baptism of thirteen ASAP-supported students, and nine more expressed a desire to prepare for baptism. We

are excited that some of these students will soon transition into the newly built classrooms rather than having to attend a local government school.

Here at ASAP, we are passionate about our work of spreading the gospel in one of the world’s hardest places to reach. We are all in until all the people of Southeast Asia have had the opportunity to know Jesus. Thank you to each one of you who are all in and who faithfully pray and give so that God’s work in Southeast Asia can go forward..
