LEAF 1

 Shape: Ovate  Margin: Undulate  Venations: Pinnate

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PLANT  is a deciduous tree native to central North America. can reach a height of 20– 30 m, with fast growth, and are relatively short-lived; their life spans are typically about 120 years, though some live up to 150 years.  Flowers: They appear in late spring and they are very fragrant  The fruit of the Honey locust is a flat legume (pod) that matures in early autumn. The pods are generally between 15–20 cm. Their whose flesh is edible and is consumed by the American Indian.  Its cultivars are popular ornamental plants, especially in the northern plains of North America where few other trees can survive and prosper. It tolerates urban conditions, compacted soil, road salt, alkaline soil, heat and drought. The popularity is in part due to the fact that it transplants so easily.

LEAF 2

  

Shape: Linear / Lanceolate Margin: Undulate Venations: Pinnate

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PLANT 

The olive tree, is an evergreen tree or shrub native to the Mediterranean, Asia and Africa. It is short and squat, and rarely exceeds 8–15 metres in height.

Flowers: They are small and white with ten-cleft calyx and corolla, two stamens and bifid stigma, are borne generally on the previous year's wood, in racemes springing from the axils of the leaves.

Their habitat is dry and warm regions of temperate climate. Wild varieties inhabit stony, scrub and coastal formations, while crop varieties are planted in large areas and can be found in specimens in parks and gardens.

The fruit of the olive tree is the olive.

The process of pollination to allow fruitful flowers is similar to any angiosperm: (The two male gametes from a pollen tube joins the egg and another polar nuclei).

LEAF 3

 Shape: Acicular  Margin: Undulate  Venations: Parallel

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PLANT  Its distribution is restricted to tropical or subtropical areas. The only species in the Catalan is the native palm (Chamaerops humilis)  The flowers are generally small and white, radially symmetric, and can be either uni- or bisexual. The sepals and petals usually number three each, and may be distinct or joined at the base.  Palms are among the best known and most extensively cultivated plant families. They have been important to humans throughout much of history. Many common products and foods are derived from palms, and palms are also widely used in landscaping for their exotic appearance, making them one of the most economically important plants.  In many historical cultures, palms were symbols for such ideas as victory, peace, and fertility. Today, palms remain a popular symbol for the tropics and vacations

LEAF 4 Scientific name: Nerium oleander Name in catalan: Diva o llorer rosa Name in Spanish: Adelfa Name in English: Nerium Leaf  Shape: Linear  Margin: Undulate  Venations: Pinnate

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PLANT  N. oleander is either native or naturalized to a broad area from Mauritania, Morocco, and Portugal eastward through the Mediterranean region and the Sahara (where it is only found sporadically), to the Arabian peninsula, southern Asia, and as far East as Yunnan in southern parts of China. It typically occurs around dry stream beds.  The flowers grow in clusters at the end of each branch; they are white, pink to red,[2.5–5 cm (0.98–2.0 in) diameter, with a deeply 5-lobed fringed corolla round the central corolla tube.  Is a small tree, its cultivation is so common that no precise region of origin has been identified, though southwest of Asia has been suggested.

 Nerium oleander has historically been considered a poisonous plant because some of its compounds may exhibit toxicity, especially to animals, when consumed in high amounts. Its cultivated mainly in gardens.

LEAF 5 Scientific name: Laurus nobilis Name in catalan: Llorer Name in Spanish: Laurel Name in English: Laurel tree  Shape: Linear/ Lanceolate  Margin: Undulate  Venations: Pinnate

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PLANT  The laurel can vary greatly in size and height, sometimes reaching 10–18 metres tall  The laurel is dioecious (unisexual), with male and female flowers on separate plants. Each flower is pale yellow-green, about 1 cm diameter, and they are borne in pairs beside a leaf. The leaves are 6–12 cm long and 2–4 cm broad, with an entire (untoothed) margin. On some leaves the margin undulates. The fruit is a small, shiny black berry about 1 cm long  It is an aromatic evergreen tree or large shrub with green, glossy leaves, native to the Mediterranean region. It is one of the plants used for bay leaf seasoning in cooking.  Under the simpler name "laurel," Laurus nobilis figures prominently in classical Greek, Roman, and Biblical culture.
