Have you ever wondered what Ascend Academy is like? Well, I will be telling you how everyday throughout the week my school has different emotions such as feelings. Ascend Academy has many classes such as writing, reading, art, hope, etc. You can give ideas for new events, field trips, or spirit week. Everyday is like new being here

so nice and caring she will automatically make you fall in love with this school. Ms. Pistocchi will make you feel like this is your home because she always has a positive mindset, she will help you with your work and make sure you stay on track with a lot of things so you won’t fail. Many people must think “oh she
“Ascend Academy will make you feel happy and safe, you can also make new friends and help out with a lot of stuff .” because there’s always something new happening. Although, you might think Ascend Academy doesn’t have many features that meet up to your expectations, they will make things good for you so you can have a suitable education. The teachers and staff are so nice here especially Ms. Pistocchi, she is 6
gives us too much work or she talks too much’’ - talking less or giving students a little bit of work won’t get us nowhere, especially in this pandemic. She provides so much information for a lot of people to comprehend. Ascend Academy will make you feel happy and safe, you can also make new friends and help out with a lot of stuff.
However, Ascend Academy does not take their work for a joke. The more you are on track the more free time you have, it’s good to be ahead of the game so you can finish all your classes early. On Mondays everyone is like a sloth, especially on Tuesday through Wednesday. Today is Thursday, not a lot of people showed up but time is going by slowly. Some Thursdays, people are waking up having fun and everything else they do.

The year is 2055 and now there are floating build home planet Earth had just exploded and me and to Mars. It’s been seven years since the earth has years old. The population is at about 16 million peo ed creating buildings and homes and our civilization 10

dings in New York City. My d millions of others escaped s exploded and now I’m 21 ople and we’ve slowly startn is slowly coming together.
CHAPTER 001
You might be asking how we build all of these buildings? Well, we don’t know where they came from, but when we first landed on Mars we found billions of spaceship parts just laying there on the ground. Thanks to all the scientists we have we figured out how to use these parts and we slowly started building these floating towers and homes. We’ve all decided to rename this city New York City to honor the old city that was caught in the explosion of earth. We still don’t know where all these parts came from, but all we know is that it’s some new type of technology that has never been seen before. They look like they were the part of the spaceship that made it fly. Scientists discovered a few years later how to use them and with the help of some architects and construction workers, we all worked together to build the city we live in today.

You also might be wondering how the earth exploded? It was something unexplainable. There was a voice in the sky one day and they said we had a month to evacuate the Earth or else we would all die. At first there were people who didn’t believe the voice and continued to live their normal lives. However, many disasters were happening all around the world. Earthquakes, volcano eruptions, tsunami’s, etc. We all realized that the voice was right and within a week many scientists were able to make a huge rocket that could carry at least a billion people. How did they build a rocket that big in a week you’re probably asking? They built it the same way we built New York City. These mysterious parts were all just in one random grassland. The president himself told everyone around the world to pack their bags and head over to area 51. People from all cultures were there and it was a huge crowd. I was honestly lucky to get into the rocket because some people didn’t get inside the rocket and they got caught in the explosion. So back to the question of how the Earth exploded. . . Well sorry to break it to you but we don’t know either. We also still don’t know where that voice came from. Anyways, today was the anniversary of our escape to 12
12 Mars. This day is also a day to remember our loved ones that got caught in the explosion. There’s a parade going on in the park so I was meeting my buddy Mike at the parade. “Hey John where have you been?” said Mike. I was running late so I was hoping Mike wasn’t going to be too mad. After we had a little chat, the announcer at the parade said that it was about to start. Me and Mike started running towards all of the floats and we were watching the parade. I don’t know why but I had a bad feeling that day but I just thought it was nothing. “Hello!” I heard out of nowhere. I thought I was going crazy but when I looked around everyone else also looked confused. Again we all heard “Hello!” and I immediately had flashbacks of the same voice seven years ago. Then the sky started getting dark and I just heard some engines that were very loud. They sounded like some airplane engines but I couldn’t tell what it was. Then I saw something in the sky and it looked like a UFO. There was a very bright beam of light coming from the UFO and it looked as if something was coming out of it. It looked like a squid or something and then it started coming towards the park. The alien or whatever was coming towards all of us started talking and it said, “Hello friends.”

We were all confused but then the alien started to explain how he was a king. “My name is m#4% but you can just call me Jake. We aliens love peace and we noticed that the Earth was in danger. You might remember hearing a voice in the sky seven years ago. Well, that was us warning you about the explosion”. The president thanked the aliens and they went back into the void of space. Well I was just there still kind of shocked to learn that aliens are actually real, but I’m not complaining. We were saved and that’s all that matters.

Or so I thought… Later that day I realized something felt off. It was as if I felt a presence in my home but when I looked around there was nothing. I just turned on my tv and fell asleep. Little did I know that this would change my whole life. When I woke up, I wasn’t at home. I started to look around and I saw one person with some type of army suit. I asked where I was and he told me I was in the U.S. army’s base and I was selected to fight in a war against the aliens. I was confused because a day ago the aliens said that they wanted to maintain peace and that they (cont’d . . .) 13

The man said, “It was all a lie and many people have gone missing ever since we landed on Mars. The aliens also threatened to kill the president and then the president declared war. We’re going to have a war in a faraway battlefield so nobody gets hurt. This war or battle will take place in 3 days so train as much as you can with guns.” I then left to see if there were any classes or sessions I had to be in and then I found Mike with a bunch of other people who were selected to help in this battle. “Hey John over here!” I went over to the group and it seemed like they were

14 so I learning how to use guns joined them. In these three days, I learned how to use guns, shields, and I also got used to wearing these heavy army clothes. The captain of the army told us all to go into these planes and me and Mike ended up on the same plane. “I’m kinda scared. What if something bad happens” said Mike. “It’s going to be fine Mike, we can do this!” We were almost at the battle field and there we saw a giant mothership. Everybody started shooting rocket launchers at it and the mothership eventually exploded and millions of aliens started jumping out of the ship
and 15 landing on the ground with parachutes. The plane also landed and as we got off, the aliens started to attack with guns we’ve never seen before. I followed Mike and got behind a boulder with shields ready to start shooting back. We got out from behind the boulder and started shooting. I saw that we hit at least 15 aliens and many others, including the captain, were killing a lot of aliens. An hour has passed and me and Mike are trying to rest up a bit behind the boulder. Everybody else is still fighting the aliens and we are slowly gaining some ground. I’m estimating that at least 10,000 aliens have been killed but there still a lot
CHAPTER 001 left. I rested up enough so I threw a grenade and it took out a huge part of the alien army. I got up with my shield and I started shooting again. Mike did the same thing and we slowly started moving up using all the boulders we could see. Everything was going smoothly until something bad had happened. “I’M HIT!” I turned around slowly and I saw him. Mike was bleeding out on the ground and I quickly ran up to him. I put a bandage around the wound but the blood didn’t stop pouring out. “It’s going to be okay, John” said Mike. “Take care of my mother for me please.” There was nothing but silence coming out of Mike’s mouth. Tears started pouring out my face and pure rage was boiling up inside me. I grabbed all of my grenades including the ones Mike had left and I threw them all at the same time. The explosion was huge and there were at least a thousand aliens out of a million left. We killed all of them and there was nothing left. The mothership was destroyed so everybody in there had died. The battle was over. Three months have passed since Mike died and I’m taking care of his mother everyday. When I first told her the news she was devastated. Now I buy groceries for her and every once in a while I visit Mike’s grave and I clean it. ◆ ◆ ◆

“Hello readers! I am your host, your ghost host. I am also your guide into the unknown and today we will be taking a glimpse into another dimension. This Dimension is similar to our own, which is the Saccorax dimension. . .
. . . You may know the other dimension as The Twilight Zone.” It was 9 AM EST, Friday, October 29th, 2021, at Ascend Academy Charter High School and everything seemed normal, but things can be deceiving.” Here we meet Electricity, a (not so) normal teen who is a student at this school. Now you may be wondering what makes Electricity not so normal?

19 They are one of the only humans in this dimension, while everyone else is some form of monster or creature. It’s almost Halloween and this happens to be their favorite holiday because they love to dress up in costumes since they are able to fit in with the monsters, goblins, and ghouls. They’ve come to school in costume and they were so happy but soon, they will regret wearing it. They are wearing a fake reverse bear trap just like in the Saw movies. Electricity goes to their classes as normal and everything is going smoothly. Until lunch hit. As soon as they went to lunch everything changed. Everyone’s costumes became real! There were ghouls dressed as dogs and cats, zombies dressed as humans, witches dressed up as zombies. This was a huge problem for Electricity specifically since their costume was a death trap.
Is this the end of our beloved Electricity?! Let us continue on and find out. They needed to find a way to turn everything back to normal before the trap timer ran out. If the timer Readers, if anyone reading is young, go grab a parent as this next part is a little scary! Now back to the horror at school… it’s noon and there was one hour on the clock so they needed to work fast. They ran from teacher to teacher, student to student, trying to find out why this is happening. After 45 minutes passed, they were starting to give up hope until they saw a student
001 in the corner with black CHAPTER hair, dark skin, in a red hoodie and blue jeans looking upset. They soon realized that this student is another human! Electricity recognized him from class. His name is Keon. That student had cast a spell, with the help from a witch, on everyone that would make their costumes real because he was always left out so this was his revenge.
Will this be the end of our dear Electricity? Electricity explained, “What you are doing is wrong and if the time runs out on my timer my face will be ripped open by the reverse bear trap.” This caused the student to realize his wrong doing. “I’m sorry, I don’t want you to die. You are the only one like me here,” he said. Keon then did everything in his power to reverse the spell and turn everything back to normal. As soon as they could, Electricity tore their prop off of their head and ran home. Alright readers, let’s jump back to our own dimension, the Saccorax dimension. I hope everyone made it back, if you didn’t make it back with the group, raise your hand! Well anyways, I hope you all enjoyed this and learned something! Now go live your best life and try not to die!

SUMMARY This story takes place in a kingdom in a small village from the 12th century. During this time period everyone was able to use magic. But there was one person whose name was Draven, which means child of darkness. He believed there should be order and that no one should use magic, but him. He is a descendant of a titan, basically a god, the titan died but left a child which is none other than Draven. Draven inherited the powers of the titan, but at a cost, the more magic he uses the quicker he dies, but somehow he found a way to prevent himself from dying. Ever since that day he stole everyones magic for himself. Since he was the descendant of the titan he is a titan and that means he is the strongest magic user in the world, so no one had a choice but to give him their powers. Leaving everyone as his slave. But he couldn’t get the powers of the seven elementals which are the guardians of this world, the titan was one of the seven elementals but had negative intentions for the world, the rest of the elemental banished him. The titan filled with anger making his dark magic stronger and fought the elementals. The elementals managed to kill the titan, but the elementals were unaware of the child draven he left behind. The titan left the elementals in the weakest state they’ve ever been, so they went into an eternal sleep each at the nation of the world they correspond to. Once asleep they turned to statues, each with their own power embedded in the statue. After draven took rule of the kingdom there was a boy who wanted to dethrone draven and put an end to him, his name was Ace meaning child of multitude. 22

CHAPTER 001
CHAPTER 1: Your Majesty It’s been one year since Draven took the throne of kingdom 1 of 7. This kingdom’s name was called Dusk. Kingdom of despair. His goal is to go to every nation’s kingdom and steal the elements from the statues. He wishes to be the only one who controls magic. It’s going to be easy since he stole everyone’s magic and power by spreading a dark cloud around the world that absorbs magic and gives it to Draven, leaving everyone without magic. But the nations aren’t going to give up their elements so easily; if Draven wants it, he’s going to have to go through the ancient ruin guards. These are guards that the elementals left behind to protect the kingdom in case a situation like this happens. Draven, knowing this, decides to plan his next move instead of just going to fight his way through to get the elements. Since stealing everyone’s magic took out a lot of him, his life span has shortened by a few years. He decides to go visit his father, the Titan, since he has something that can recuperate his life and heal any damage he has put on himself. He needs Titan’s blood. This will heal him %100 but it takes a long time to get since he would need to visit the titan, mine the bones of the titan and extract the blood.

It’s also unfortunate for him since it also takes a while to be healed, but not as much as extracting the blood, it takes a few days for Draven to heal.
CHAPTER 2: Mystery child During the time Draven is trying to recuperate, it was a normal day in the kingdom, and everyone in the village was going through their normal day. They are still trying to adapt to their new way of life without magic. The merchants are selling their products, the fishermen are catching fish to sell to the merchants , etc. but there was something unusual going on with the farmers. A husband and wife, the husband’s name was Alex and the wifes name was Elizabeth. They are a married couple. They were watering their crops and they went over to the river to gather more water. When they realized a basket flowing down the river. They picked up the basket and realized there was a baby inside. That’s not the only thing, there was also a metal staff and a letter. The letter says . . .
When the couple realized the name Elohim, they thought of the ancient legend connected to this name. His name means creator. Only one person in the world has this name. The couple decide to raise this boy as if he were their own blood. They start raising him. After a few weeks go by they seem to notice he ages quicker than a normal person, he should be a newborn but now he’s a toddler. A few days later he seems to be 14 years old but it hasn’t even been a year. The husband and wife decide to give Ace the metal staff since he now seems mature enough. Once Ace picks up the stick he learns that he is able to turn the stick into any object he wants. He first turns the staff into a ball and starts imagining other objects to turn it into. He turns it into a horse and begins riding the horse, it follows every command he gives the horse. He spent the whole day experimenting with the staff when all of a sudden it started glowing a bright gold. With a sudden flash of light, the staff turns into a sword that barely weighs anything. It’s so sharp it can cut trees and bricks clean in half.
“This is Ace, protect this child with your life, he is the key to everyone’s future and safety, leave the child with this metal stick, it will come in handy one day and he will need to learn to use it. From Elohim.” 24

Having his fun for the day he turns the staff back to normal and goes to bed. Once asleep he finds himself in a dream he never had before. It felt so real that when he pinches himself it hurts. Inside the dream, there’s a giant glowing being telling him,
“This is no dream. I have summoned you here to give you an important message. Climb the biggest mountain behind the kingdom and once you’ve reached the top I will come and get you to explain who you are and your purpose as a being. I will train you to your fullest potential.” Once he said that, he told the boy that his parents aren’t his real parents and to let them know Elohim has summoned you. Once woken up he recaps what just happened and realizes he looks nothing like his parents. He has white skin, blue eyes and blonde hair. His parents are dark skinned, brown eyed and have dark hair. Ace tells his parents what he saw and they told him to listen to what he says because it’s very important. He listens to his parents and will set off on his journey early in the morning the next day. • • •

“Right now at the moment, I’m walking through the darkest halls of my life. . . “ I never thought I would be in this position today. Meeting someone who has done things this world couldn’t imagine. This city has been in fear the past decade, no one could not find out who terrorized the city until now.

During the day, he was a cheerful noble man - at night, he was a killer. . . hungry for girls. Before I walked through the halls, the guard wished me luck for dealing with this person they call “monster”. As I got to the cell, he saw me from the corner of his eye while sitting peacefully. I got to the door and he greeted me with a smile that looked normal. I was feeling goosebumps all over, should I be scared? I entered and sat down with my papers and recorder as he watched me with his deep brown eyes. Your name is Andre Crawford, correct? “ Yes,” he replied with a soft voice. “What are you here for?” Andre Crawford asked while leaning forward. “I’m here to interview you. . .” “. . . for personal purposes?” Andre leaned in closer to the table with a hard stare. “ Yes, it’s for my personal use, Sir.” “Good, keep this between you and I, every single detail.” “Don’t worry, this is safe with me,” I responded back while getting my papers together. “the media is not involved in this.” “ You better stick to your words,” he said. I felt a little disturbed but I knew this was just the beginning. “I will... are you ready?” “ Yes, make sure to listen closely to my words, you’re gonna want details” Andre stated with a smile that gave me goosebumps under my clothes. “Ok, Sir...I’m going to start the recording now. . .”

Continuously continue to step upon a room with nothing but silence and unbalanced faces filled with dead roses. Feet begin to connect like a dotted paper. Room is painted like a canvas. A girl With bright eyes, Big brain, Takes Big Steps everywhere she walks Can’t stand loud noises so she begins to move in silence with cotton over her ears you hear Banging and people talking with instrumentals slaying in the background. She keeps her face covered like a Muslim only difference is she’s not from the country, she rather be seen and not heard sometimes heard but not seen. How can rapping be her thing when she barely talks or likes big crowds ? She thinks maybe one day she will finally have the confidence and be able to do everything she said she wants to do. She’s caught between a Love and Hate Relationship with some people. She doesn’t know whether to Keep them close or love them from a distance. She’s not a hating or mean person. She loves everybody equally. The only thing that people tend to do is take her as she’s weak and her heart is so Big that she carries it on her back, showing so much love that they take you like you’re weak.
She tends to believe if she Goes to another universe she will be better off there and not in a world where there’s so much hate and people tend to know her every move when she isn’t an unknown person. 34

Everywhere she walks somebody wants to either hug or talk to her. She can’t do everything at once because it brings stress and anxiety to her body. A body Where it’s sensitive and Can’t take certain things Heavy like other people do, she says everybody’s different we all do different things you can’t tell her to do this and that then expect it to turn out the same as the other person did it. Anybody can open their chakra if they want to. She says she wants to open one of hers but she’s scared how the impact will look or what she will see on the journey. William Gave her so much and showed her what life is really about now she walks with her head above instead of down below she tries to walk like a Queen, Head high, Anxiety Low. Walk like you own the place but you actually don’t, ignore hate, ignore negativity and go for the big leagues only. Kayla told her she couldn’t and wouldn’t be anything, she unfriended her, l laughed and said Ok because she knew one day she’ll change everybody’s point of view Now she walks around with people looking at her everytime she turns a corner. As the Room tends to interclose she becomes Scared and outspoken, Tape over her mouth Now she can’t speak. What will she do? What? ◆◆◆

“Go fish?” my mother said. “Mom.. this is Uno. there’s no fish.” I said to my mother. “I don’t know how to play!” My mother laughed. “Dad would be able to teach you better than me.” I said sadly. “Aw hun, don’t be sad, we have each other right?” “Yeah, I know, but I just wish we could have more time together. You’re always working, never home. I just wish my life was more exciting.” “One day it will be, just be patient, alright?” My mother said trying o comfort me.
10 Years Later. . .
I.. I just don’t know where to begin. I don’t even know how this happened to me. I’m running so fast. My wavy brown hair is flying behind me, some of it getting in my face. I don’t even know what I’m running from but I know my life is on the line. My heart is beating a million miles per hour. I’m surprised my shoes aren’t burning from the amount of friction from the hard concrete road beneath me. He’s gaining on me. This is it. I never even got to say goodbye to anyone. He’s getting closer, come on! Keep running, Nora.

In the blink of an eye, I feel the air in my lungs release, replaced by piercing pain in my sternum. He.. he stabbed me. “And I thought you’d be harder to catch,” a man with a grained voice said into my ear. Choking on my own blood, Imuttered under my breath “No, this isn’t real.” The man chuckles with the grained voice of his. “You’re right. It’s not real, yet.” the man says. He rips the metal knife out of my back and leaves me in the middle of the road. It feels like I was there for hours. Under the heat of the sun. Yet, I was cold. I felt my organs shut down, one by one. I couldn’t do anything about it. I had to lay there, and feel my body shut down.

I closed my eyes, knowing this was the end. Just laying there, hopeless, alone and afraid. Until I finally took my last breath and muttered finally. A loud sound of ambulance sirens woke me up. “Nora? Nora! Are you alright?” I was too incapaciated to speak. I tried to say something but it just sounded like groaning. “You just started seizing. You started coughing up blood.” I hear a woman who sounds like my mother say. “We were in the middle of dinner? Do you remember?” The paramedics started doing tests on me, I think. “Nora? Nora!” I hear before my world goes dark once again. I woke up in a dark, cold black room. The only light illuminated was flickering and short circuiting. I wasn’t even in the hospital. I was.. somewhere else. Was I dreaming again? I hear a slow, dark, grainy laugh that sounded familiar to me. I turned around sharply to be met with the man who I saw in my dream before. “That’s right Nora, it’s me. In the flesh, sort of. Don’t worry, none of this is real, I mean it is but, it’s not.” “What?” I asked. “Really? ‘What?’ that’s all you have to say? I was expecting.. More of a reaction,” said the man. I just stared. So many questions are going through my mind. Who is he? What does he want with me? He lets out a throaty laugh. “Why is this funny? “

“Please, I just want to go home. Why are you doing this?” I half yelled. “You have something I want. You don’t even know what it is yet, which makes this the perfect opportunity for me to take it from you.” The man smirked. “Oh how rude of me, my name is Kaidan. How lovely to meet you, again.” I feel my heart beat faster and my mouth go dry. “What do you mean? I have something you want? Please, I just want to go home. I don’t even know where I am.” I said quietly. “You’re in my mind, silly,” he said. “What?” I asked curiously. “You’re in my mind. Your consciousness is in my head. Doesn’t that make you scared? I can put my consciousness in you and vice versa with the snap of my fingers.” Kaidan walked closer to me. I instinctively backed up. I must have tripped over my own foot and I fell on my back. He crouches down slowly and looks at me. “I can feel your magic,” he said. He takes his hand and grabs mine. “Look,” he said. My hand started glowing translucent dark purple. “See, Nora? That’s your magic.” He was almost smiling at me. Then suddenly he pulls my arm toward him. I let out a small scream from the pain. “And I want it. All of it, believe me, i’m going to get i!” He continued with his hard voice. “Don’t try and stop me,” he said - gripping my arm with the strength of a 1000 men. Then my surroundings started to become distorted. “I’ll see you soon.” are the only words I hear, until I wake up again in a hospital bed. 39 cont’d. . .

When I woke up I screamed. “NO!” I screamed. The entire room “Nora? Are you alright? Nurse! She’s shook, things breaking and falling off the awake!” my mother yelled. shelves. sit down. I see a cave just ahead. I’ll start a fire and lay down. I need to talk to Kaidan. I know he’s dangerous but he’s the only one who can help me right now. I just hope he contacts me soon, which are words I never thought I’d say. Wait, if he has magic and I have magic, maybe I can contact him. The problem is, I have no idea how to do that. No, never mind. What if I can’t control it? I don’t know what to do? I don’t have a choice. I have to. No I can’t, I don’t know what to do! I dismiss all thoughts, I have no choice. I need to contact him. I look at my hands and concentrate and soon enough that familiar purple color came back around my hands I close my eyes again and focus on him, Kaidan. “Kaidan? What happened?” I said. “I should be asking you!” Kaidan yelled. The memory in the sky changed, it was. . . when my dad left? “Poppa? Do you have to go?” I heard a little voice say. “You’ll understand soon enough, Nora.” I heard the echo of what my father said. I began to cry, but I don’t know why. I thought I was over my father leaving. The memory changed again, it was when.. . I killed the nurse. I killed the nurse.?! “No.. I..’’ I began to hyperventilate. My surroundings began to change again. The trees became leafless and longer. The grass was black and I heard growling. I felt terrified. “Nora?” said Kaidan. “I killed the nurse!” I cried “Nora, if you don’t calm down, we’re both screwed!” Kaidan yelled. “No! What have I done? I can’t ever go back home!” I yelled. “Nora! Look!” Kaidan yelled. I turned to see a long dark creature, crawling on all fours, it looked human but not. Its limbs turned in an inhumane way. This was not a human. “Nora, if that thing gets us and we die, we die in real life, so calm the hell down right now.” “How am I supposed to calm down?” I yelled. She said these words, I don’t understand what she meant. “She said ‘he must win.’” I explained. Kaidan looked puzzled but it seemed like he discarded any thought of it quickly. “Kaidan, I know you hate me, but can I please take a shower? I just need to relax.” I begged. “Fine, I wouldn’t want you stinking up my house, but you’re not getting my good towels.” “Good towels?” He led me to the bathroom and handed me a towel and a change of clothes. “Don’t take too long, or else the water bill will be so high l’ll have to kill the bill collector. Hm, actually take all the time you want.” He spoke while walking away. I walked into the bathroom. I looked into the mirror. All this is happening so quickly. I hardly recognized myself. to sob. I’ll never see my mom again. It’s for the best. I wouldn’t want to accidentally hurt her. My brown hair was greasy and dirty, and my clothes were torn. I turned on the hot water almost all the way. I let the water burn away the dirt on my skin and hair. I had to use Kaidan’s shampoo and conditioner. I’m going to smell like the man who wants to murder me. Once I finished, the bathroom was full of steam from how hot the shower was. I changed into the clothes Kaidan gave me. they were too big for me to fit in but it was fine. I walked out of the bathroom and walked down the hallway and saw Kaidan sitting on the couch not doing anything. I know he wants to kill me and take my magic, which doesn’t sound that bad. The magic part, not him killing me part. I know he can’t hurt me, he needs me to be alive for him to take my magic, which I still have no idea what he needs it for or how he’s going to do it. “Kaidan? What are you doing?” iIasked “Thinking.” He spoke blankly, not turning around. “About?” I said, trying to make him open up. “None of your business.” He was emotionless. I walked over to him. “No, don’t come over here, just stay away.” Kaidan said. “Why?” I asked. “Stop trying to get me to talk, damn it!” He grabbed my arm. “Kaidan, stop!” I yelled.” He pulled me into a room and walked out.

Then I had an idea that might just work. I closed my eyes and focused on the lock. I faintly saw purple fly through the handle, and then I heard a click. I got up quickly and ran out the door back into the living room. “Kaidan!” I yelled. He quickly turned around, surprised I had gotten out so quickly. He groaned in annoyance. “Kaidan, what’s this about?” I asked slowly. “You’re so persistent. You’re so lucky I can’t just take your life right now.” He started walking toward me. I stood my ground. Kaidan grabbed my hand tightly and started pulling me out to the forest, we were almost running. Then Kaidan stops in the middle of the forest and looks around. “Alright, this should be good.” Kaidan sat down, pulling me down with him. “Nora, this is a very complicated spell, we have to concentrate on the grandmaster’s realm.” “How am I supposed to concentrate on a place I’ve never been to?” I asked. “Just relax. You’ll see images in your head. Concentrate on it, close your eyes.” I did as he said and closed my eyes. Are we really gonna do this, Kaidan?” I started panicking. “Concentrate, Nora.” Kaidan said, his voice was a lot farther than he was originally. “Right, hmm. I smell fear, is that possible? I can feel the fear, it’s all over the place.” “Good job, Nora.” Kaidan continued. “Open your eyes.” I opened my eyes and saw the picture I saw in my head, but in real life. I had done it. “Where are we, Kai?” I asked. “In the Grandmaster’s realm. Don’t call me Kai. Only my mother called me Kai.” He was stern. “Called?’’ I asked. I didn’t know much about him, but now I know something happened with his mother. Of course he ignored me though. I look around at my surroundings, everything I was feeling before was much more real now. I shiver from the coldness. “You’ll get used to the cold. Let’s go.” Kaidan spoke while walking away. I follow closely behind him. I have no idea what to expect. After a while of walking, we come across a big pair of doors. They suddenly opened, without us even moving a limb. I know he’s dangerous but he’s gonna kill me no matter what iI do. “No! I’m not getting on my knees for you! Who even are you? I had to leave my life behind because of you!’’ I yelled. A laugh echoed across the tall ceilings and hall of the room. “You’ll understand soon enough, Nora.” The Grandmaster spoke to me. That voice.. Why is it so familiar? “What are you doing, Nora?” Kaidan whispered. “Who are you?” I asked the Grandmaster. He gets up, out of his throne and begins walking towards me and Kaidan.I don’t back up, instead I raise my hand and the familiar purple color surrounds it, getting ready to attack this man. Although he doesn’t stop moving toward me. He gets closer to me until we’re arms length away. He brings his hands up and I get into a defensive stance. Kaidan stands up behind the Grandmaster and looks at me with sad looking eyes. Why is he sad? The Grandmaster puts his hand on the mask he’s wearing and pulls it off. My eyes widened. My throat becomes tense as I hold back tears. I begin to shake and tear up.

One is brighter than the others, I concentrate on it and then I see it bright as day. “Mom.. I’ll find him. I promise.” A younger version of Kaidan speaks. “No, sweetie, no. He’s dangerous.” His mother says, coughing. “But mom, you’re dying! He killed you!” Kaidan yelled. “Kai, my sweet boy. He only killed me to scare you into joining him. Promise me you wont.” “I promise. When he gets this Nora girl, I’m going to help him. But don’t worry. I’m going to kill him in the end. He killed you, Mom. He’s not getting away with that.” “Kai.. my sweet boy. Please don’t..” His mother took her last breath. Kaidan began to cry. The memory stops and I woke up back in the cave. The light of the bowl blinds my eyes. I need to get to Kaidan. I ran out and back toward the entrance of the cave. He’s still sitting there. “Kaidan, why didn’t you tell me? You’re planning to overthrow the grand ma. . .” ”Kaidan cuts me off by getting up quickly and putting his hand over my mouth to quiet me. “Shh! “I didn’t make it up,” Kaidan said blankly. The door to the cave opens. The light blinds us but our eyes adjusted to the light. “It is time.” The Grandmaster spoke as the creatures grabbed us and tied us to the end of a pole. “Please father, don’t do this!” I yelled. My father laughs in an evil voice, like he’s been practicing for ages. Kaidan and I look at each other, afraid of what’s to come. “Dont be afraid.” Kaidan whispered. Kaidan showed me that his hands were free. He got out of the ropes. The creatures were next to the Grandmaster, so Kaidan snuck up behind them and he took out a knife and held it up. I looked away. I know my father had to die, but that doesnt mean I wanted to see it. Then I heard Kaidan groan in pain. I looked over quickly. Kaidan was being held in a headlock by the creatures and being dragged back to the pole next to me.

“Foolish boy! You think i didnt know your plan? I am the grandmaster. Iv known this whole time, and iv been waiting to see you muck it up!” my father laughs. “Kaidan? Are you alright?” I asked.

I failed my mother, I failed myself.” Kaidan was disappointed. “Get ready,” the Grandmaster said. “Kaidan, I just wanted to say. . . you’re the only person who I’m alright with being tied to a pole with.” I joked. Kaidan smiled sadly.. . but he actually smiled. The Grandmaster held up his hands and his hands glew green. He hit Kaidan with his power, in the heart. Sucking up all of his magic, the green and blue lights swirling every were in the air. “Finally,” Kaidan said as he picked his head up to look at me. Then suddenly, he dropped. Lifeless. “No!” I cried. Then my father turned to me. Instead of having just green color in his hands, he had blue, signifying he had taken all of Kaidan’s magic. “Your turn.” He muttered. Everything slowed. This was it. “No.” I whispered. Father looked confused. He killed Kaidan, he killed my mother, he made the nurse kill me, then I killed the nurse. He’s not killing me. The anger bubbled in my stomach. I felt my cold body suddenly turn hot. My eyes turned purple. So, I broke out. “I break out of the binds that my father has put me in, mentally and physically!” “What? How!” I hear my father yell. My anger is bursting out in flames. I threw the creatures off the ledge of the palace. I snap my fingers and the arches and wood fall into sharper versions of themselves.

I pick up my father and hold him above a sharp ledge of wood. “Father, please I don’t want to do this. Don’t make me!” I yelled. The tears burning my eyes, my throat cracking from the held back tears that begged to escape. “You’ve always been weak. You wont kill me!” He spoke spitefully. I believed him for a second, then I remembered everything he’s done. “You’re wrong. You’ve always been wrong!” I cried. Before my father got a chance to fight back, I dropped him onto the sharp wood. The wood impaling his heart, instantly killing him. I sobbed, I had lost everything. I can never go back home. Then, suddenly, a light flashing green and blue, moved towards me, into me. I had abosobert their magic. I walked over to Kaidan’s still tiedup, lifeless body. I untied him and put him on the floor. “Kaidan.. I’m so.. sorry.” I cried, struggling to even get those words out.

eyes to see my room. I was at my house. I look down and feel Kaidan still in my arms. How did he come with me? I felt his pulse. I felt nothing and sighed, but then. . . A beat. One beat, and that one single beat changed my life. He was alive. I held onto his heart and begin chest compressions. I don’t even know if i’m doing it right. “Come on!” I began getting frustrated, is he going to wake up? Then I thought about it. He died when his magic was stolen, so if I give it back. . . That just might work. I put one hand on Kaidan’s chest, and closed my eyes. I felt something, like I was getting weaker, was it working? I opened my eyes and saw blue and green light flowing out of my hands, into his chest. I finished, but he wasn’t waking up. “Kaidan. . . Come on!” I was frustrated. I looked around and saw an unopened water bottle, I opened it and splashed it on his face. That woke him up. “AH! Wha- what happened?” Kaidan yelled. “Yeah.. that’s hard to explain but you’re alive! Yay?’’ I said. “Yes.. I’m fully aware but.. “Who are you people!?” she asked. Then her eyes widened. “Nora?” she said. I got up quickly and hugged her. “Mom!” I smiled. We all went down stairs and explained everything to my mother. “So, yeah, that’s what I’ve been doing.” I said. “You’ve been.. busy,” my mother said. Kaidan is sitting quietly drinking a box of apple juice. The man who was trying to murder me is sitting at my kitchen drinking apple juice. “Your father would always talk about how you’re special, I always thought it was normal. Fathers usually think their daughters are special. “You’re taking this too good. Did you miss the part when your ex-husband tried to murder us and your daughter murdered him or that your daughter has powers in general?” Kaidan’s attention was now off the apple juice. “I’m in shock.” My mother replied. “Lame excuse.” Kaidan said in a bad mood. “You’re a bit moody.” I said to Kaidan. “Sorry, being sacrificed to destroy the universe then dying and then coming back to life will do that to a guy.” “You didn’t even say thank you.” I replied. “Thanks. Just, sorry.” Kaidan said as he started to walk away. “Kaidan, I’m excited to see the happy side of you.” I said. “I’m excited to see him too.” Kaidan said. He turned back around and I looked outside at the pretty lake and trees. Everything worked out, thankfully. My mother loves our new house, a lot less stuffy and depressing then our old one. We’ve been through some things and I’m sure this isn’t the end. All I know is that life is going be much more exciting then it was before. Together.
