SUMMER CAMP FAQ

Who can participate in Leroy Springs & Co. camps?

Any child between the ages of three and 15 are eligible to participate in our summer camps. Summer Camps are held outside, so campers should be prepared for the heat, humidity, and bugs of South Carolina summers. Campers attending FLYERS Camps can expect both indoor and outdoor activities.

Are there any physical requirements for camp?

Our Junior Adventure Seekers, Adventure Seekers, Specialty, and Equestrian Camps participate in activities such as hiking on uneven terrain, mountain biking (Trekkers, Adventurers, and Mountain Bike camps only), and mounting & dismounting horses (Equestrian camps only). Campers should be able to accomplish such activities with minimal assistance. Campers are provided instruction and guidance but should be able to accomplish such activities with minimal assistance.

Our FLYERS Summer Camps offer a full day camp option for children who may not thrive in an outdoor setting that our Greenway camps offer. Please visit the FLYERS page of this camp guide for more information.

What types of activities do campers participate in at camp?

Each camp has a variety of activities that provide a well-rounded camp experience. All Junior Adventure Seekers and Adventure Seekers camps can expect to participate in outdoor activities such as fort building, playing in wooded areas, stream stomping, and age-appropriate hikes. Adventure Seekers, Trekkers and Adventurers camps also participate in activities such as kayaking, archery, field games, crafts, fishing, and mountain biking (Trekkers and Adventurers age groups only). Equestrian campers learn not only how to ride, but also learn grooming and horsemanship.

At FLYERS day camps, campers spend their day both indoors and outdoors at a local elementary school with activities centered around a weekly theme, including crafts, STEAM-focused experiments, group games, and field trips.

What are the behavior expectations at camp?

Leroy Springs & Co. camps focus on providing a safe environment for all campers and staff. To allow campers to be their most unique self at camp, we expect campers to contribute to the safe environment by following camp rules, such as being kind and respectful to all, following directions, and committing to themselves and others by trying their best in all activities.

SUMMER CAMP FAQ

Do I have to sign-up for all of the weeks of camp?

You can choose to sign up for as many weeks as you’d like for your campers! Plus you can mix and match, creating the summer camp experience that best fits your camper by trying out all that we have to offer. Please note that the primary activities do not change week to week so if your camper attends multiple weeks of the same camp, they may have a similar experience week to week

What happens if I need to cancel?

Please make sure to review the cancellation policy closely on page 7 before registering for any of our summer camps.

Can my child attend with a friend?

Camp is a great time to make new friends! At Junior Adventure Seekers and Adventure Seekers summer camps, group requests are allowed. Please note, group requests cannot be made until the week before camp begins (more instructions will be provided at that time). Group requests must be mutual and campers must be in the same age group. Please note that we cannot accommodate large group requests (3+ campers) and group requests are not guaranteed.

What happens if camp fills up? What is the waitlist procedure?

All of our camps will have waitlists available once a camp has filled. There is no cost to register for a waitlist, but you will still need to complete an application for the camp/s you would like waitlist for in EZChildTrack, which includes completing the health history form. Should a spot become available, we will email waitlist applicants in the order applications were received. There is a deadline to accepting a waitlist spot if offered, so please make sure to review these communications closely in order to avoid missing any deadlines. If you accept an offered spot, any remaining mandatory information and payment will be due.
