4.3. General procedure for the oxidation of the long chainalcohol 3a-3h

General procedure: Under Oxygen atmosphere, alcohol (2 mmol), precatalyst(SIMesHCl or SIPrHCl, 0.06 mmol), NaOtBu (960.5 mg, 10 mmol),and 1 g 3 A molecular sieve were added to dichloromethane(20 mL). This solution was allowed to stir for 30 h. After filtratingthrough a pad of Celite, the cake was added to hydrochloric acid(2N, 50 mL) and extracted with ethyl acetate (50 mL3). The organic layer was dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated under reduced pressure. A: 34 % Spectr. B: 19 % Spectr.
