ROYAL ASCOT LOCAL SCHOOLS ART COMPETITION WINNERS ANNOUNCED AND CELEBRATED
Ascot Racecourse welcomed the 2022 Royal Ascot Local Schools Art Competition winners to the racecourse on Saturday, 7th May to celebrate their success and present them with their prizes.
The winners, aged between 4-14 years won cash prizes of £1,000 for their school as well as Amazon vouchers for themselves. A total of 11 local schools took part in this year’s competition and more than 600 votes were received online while racegoers got their chance to decide their favourites during the Spring Family Raceday in March when all the entries were on display in the grandstand. World-leading Flat jockey and 66-time Royal Ascot winner, Ryan Moore, also selected his favourite piece of artwork in his role as an ambassador for the Ascot Racecourse Supports programme. All the winners and runners-up plus representatives from the schools were presented their prizes on the presentation podium in the parade ring at the racecourse during the May Racing Weekend.
The Royal Ascot Local Schools Art Competition has been running since 2018 with the winning entries being displayed in the Ascot Heath Tunnel, creating a colourful walkway for Royal Ascot visitors and local residents.
