A Collection Comparing Aesthetic Theories HOMEWORK: Create two 6x8-inch drawings that zoom in on of a group of 3-5 small and similar objects with interesting form (example: dice, jacks, strawberries) in colored pencil. Use a directional light source and include the objectsʼ cast shadows in a strong composition. The first drawing (due at the in-progress deadline) should demonstrate imitationalism, and show the objectsʼ forms, colors, values, and textures as realistically as possible. The second drawing should be of the same collection of objects, but changed to create a formal or emotional composition. You may alter the objectsʼ arrangement, composition, color, mark-making, light source, or other artistic decisions to emphasize the aesthetic theory you choose, but the –ism should be immediately apparent.
