Shrewsbury Folk Festival

Shrewsbury Folk Festival manages to combine a stellar line-up of folk, world music and Americana and slick production with a relaxed and friendly vibe, making it one of the most sought-after tickets for the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The festival has gained an international reputation for its eclectic line up, which this year includes Billy Bragg, Oysterband, The Dhol Foundation, Breabach, Jiggy, Talisk, and Californian roots band Dustbowl Revival as well as a whole host of other folk, roots and Americana bands. Set on a glorious riverside site in easy reach of the historic town centre, there’s four open air and covered music stages, a dance tent for ceilidhs and shows, dedicated festivals-within-a-festival to keep the kids and teens busy with music, dance, crafts and circus skills. There’s also workshops and activities for adults from yoga, crafts and countryside walks to singarounds and music sessions for the adults too.
