A suburban oasis

Hidden away in the heart of suburban north Ashford, the Bybrook Nature Reserve is a beautiful natural oasis of calm and a haven for wildlife. Once a thriving nature reserve, it has become overgrown over time, where it has been closed to the public.

The Friends of Bybrook Nature Reserve are a small, dedicated group of volunteers who are determined to return this pocket of land in Kennington to its former glory so that it can be accessed and enjoyed by local residents. With the generosity of public funding, the Friends have been able to restore a small part of the reserve and open it to the public on certain days. There is still much work to do to restore the site and make it accessible for all, and the Friends of Bybrook Nature Reserve are always eager for willing volunteers to join them in their worthy cause.
