Money Changes Everyone I was about 11 years ago when my families company Sparus Corp, was making about 2 million dollars a year. Our company had four departments, construction, cable, internet, and installing security cameras. May dad was the president of the company, while my dad’s brother was vice president. At that time, mom and dad and I were living in a three bedroom apartment in Dallas. One of the things that I actually thought was cool was that my uncle or dads brother lived close to Highland Park in a house that was for rent. After that, every month and day that past was the same, the only difference was that some months were more exciting than others, for example, when we were working on the Dark project that was going to pass through Las Colinas or when we installed the cameras in the underground part of the Texas Rangers stadium and many more. At that time, our company was located about 10 miles away from Dallas Galleria, but then was decided that we would move from that building to another located at 10205 N Walton Walker Blvd Dallas, TX 75220. It was a very nice place when I went to see it the first time; it had many offices and had 3 big garages that extended 300 feet long and about 25 feet high. That week was one of the busiest weeks that I had ever seen, but I was 6 when all this was happening, so you could imagine how exiting this was for me. What I remember the most out of that week was in the back of the building was a big parking lot and on the side was a mountain of gravel that was only 12 feet tall, but for a 6 year old like me it was an adventure. My dad still laughs at me when he tells me what happened after I claimed the mountain of gravel, he said I came back with a very serious face like something had happened, but I wasn’t saying anything, causes there were two business owners of another company talking to him, what happened next was funny to my dad causes when the people left the room I started
crying causes I had cut myself when claiming down from the “mountain of gravel”, and the cut wasn’t even that big when my dad took a look at it. Then three years after that my dad was in his office when IRS came in and say they wanted to talk to he about something, but in privet. At that time I saw a lot of things that I did not know what was happening until I was 11 years old. The IRS told my dad that the company was not reporting its income tax right causes more money was leaving than entering. My dad’s response was that he didn’t know what he was talking about but he was going to work with them in finding out how was taking all that money. Right after that he asked his brother if he knew about what was happening to the companies, and his answer was “NO”. Many people and other companies that now what happened tell us how did you not figure that it was your brother when checking the computer files, but what they didn’t know was that he had access to those files as well and he would over write them to look like nothing had happened. It was strange sometime causes when we went to eat with him; he would take you to the most expensive restaurants in Dallas and on top of that would buy wine that cost about $500 dollars, and that’s not all causes when we finished he would give the waiter $20 dollars for the tip. My dad wouldn’t say anything causes it was his money, the only thing that we didn’t know was that money was the company’s money not his own money. Later he went to buy a boat that had a kitchen and a bedroom with a living room as well as a bathroom with shower in side, we asked him how he was able to buy a boat that big, his answer was “I was saving money a long time ago”. When he went to El Salvador where my other dads brother is, his last name is Ventura and works as an engineer in the harbor for the boats. He would tell us that when he arrived and met the others family members that did not have much money cause they were in bad economic conditions. Well Ventura would tell my dad that he would start acting like he was a very rich person and tell the
other family members that he drank $500 dollar wine bottles in a day, in other works making feel like they were nothing in life and he was a god. My dad would get mad at him when returning back from his trip, telling him that when they were small they were in the same conditions as them even worse sometimes. Every 2 weeks my dad would send money from his check to them in El Salvador so they could money new clothes. As the years past my dad got a layer and started going to the IRS, bank, and many other places to gather information of what happened to all that money and that number was still growing. When it was 2010 he finally figured out it was him and that’s when the conflicts started to happen. The layer would tell him that why won’t just accept that you were the one how was taking all the money from the beginning. His response to that was like an animal in a cage causes he would grab the desk from the bottom and try to flip it, while saying works that I never want to hear again in my life. He would say that we were the one how were taking the money and said that we had houses in México and in El Salvador next to the beach. But when the layer would tell him do you have the paper work that said that they have all those things in their position, he would just begin to say nonsense things. It was like this for many mouths the layer at one point told me that to never stay close to him causes he was a violent person. We figured out that his plan was to close the company and then all the equipment left would be enough to start another one but him being the owner. After that we closed the company and opened another one that is now called SP Global but with me being second president of the company. I learned after that when you have a lot of money that doesn’t mean you have to change the way you act, and that people change if they don’t know how to control it them self’s.
