The Butterfly Who Saw it All

Written By Danielle Perszyk Illustrated By Ashley Zahn

JJ the butterfly has lived on Earth for her entire life. She has seen it all, beautiful flowers, furry animals, and colorful sunsets. JJ was beginning to become bored with the things on Earth. She wanted to see other things. So she started flying as high into the sky as she could.

First, JJ reached Mercury. The planet Mercury was small, freezing on one side and hot on the other. JJ didn’t like it, so she left.

JJ went to Venus next. It was even hotter here, so JJ moved on, past Earth again, to Mars. JJ loved Mars, because it was reddish, her favorite color.

JJ went to Jupiter next. It was huge! She liked that there were swirling clouds on this planet, and that they were colorful.

Saturn was next for JJ. There were beautiful rings on Saturn, but JJ knew she needed to keep going forward to Uranus. It had a blue color to it.

JJ didn’t like that as much as Mars, but it was still pretty. Finally, JJ reached Neptune. The wind was too strong for JJ to fly, so she didn’t get too close.

JJ realized that she needed to go home, so she flew as fast as she could.

She had finally seen it all, and Earth was her favorite.
