ASHTANGA YOGA - 200 HOUR Course Description The Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training Course (TTC) is limited to 12 people and it is offered by a team of experienced spiritual teachers. This is a comprehensive Yoga Instructor training program, designed in accordance with the 200 Hour requirements for registration with Yoga Alliance. At the end of the course you will be a Certified Yoga Instructor, eligible to register with Yoga Alliance and you will be qualified to teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga worldwide. All the modules taught meet and exceed yoga alliance requirements. Our comprehensive course schedule includes Asanas, Kriyas, Asanas Methodology (Adjustments & Theory), Pranayama and Meditation, Yoga Philosophy, Anatomy, Ayurveda and Art of teaching and more. The Pranayama classes cover various techniques like Kapalbhati, Bhastrika, Sithali, Sithkari and Brahmari ’Mysore Style’ is practiced on Saturdays where students get a chance to improve their practice without the teacher leading them but the teacher will be present to adjust the postures if necessary. It is an intense experience that helps to develop a firm foundation of inner discipline. The eligibility for this course is a sincere desire to learn and discipline to attend all the classes. Previous experience in ashtanga or hatha yoga is preferred but not a must.

Course Expectations: After successful completion students will be able to teach the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga for beginners as well as experienced*. Learn adjustments and alignments techniques. Learn back bending and hip opening asanas. Learn more about Pranayamas, Patanjali Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, vedas, upanishads and Yoga Anatomy. Learn Meditation from a world renowned meditation guru (of Spiritual Reality fame). Learn the fundamentals of Ayurveda, yogic diet. Learn the Art of teaching (soft skills training). Sanskrit language classes to learn the common words used.

Learn about Kundalini Yoga. Astrology sessions for those interested to learn the basics. Field trips to temples, ashrams, Ayurveda hospitals, anatomy lab, waterfalls etc. Participate in festivities to understand more about Indian culture (Havan, Puja etc..) & more.. * Teaching experienced practitioners depends on your previous experience. Recommended books for reading : Yoga Mala - Sri Pattabhi Jois. Light on Yoga - BKS Iyengar. Asana, pranayama, Mudra, Bandha - Swami Satyananda Saraswati. Learn more about Pranayamas, Patanjali Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, vedas, upanishads and Yoga Anatomy. Yoga Anatomy - Leslie Kaminoff. The Original Yoga - Shyam Ghosh.
