At Galgotias University, School of Law following Committees are functioning-

MOOT COURT SOCIETY

The Moot Court Society of School of law, Galgotias University is a student body that is headed and managed by highly competent faculty members. Being an aegis of School of Law, the MCS operates to inculcate the culture of Mooting amongst the students. The importance of mooting in a law school cannot be undermined and keeping this in mind the MCS aims at conducting various activities such as Intra-Moot court competitions, screenings, and training programs. This year, the MCS has also been entrusted with the responsibility of undertaking the conduct of a National Moot Court Competition in collaboration with the Bar Council of India. We are looking forward to the successful organization of this auspicious event.

Hon’ble Justice Amit Stahlekar (Allahabad High Court) giving 1st Runner UP Prize to students of School of Law, Galgotias University, Gr. Noida, Uttar Pradesh

34th Bar Council of India Trust Inter University moot court competition 2017 School of law, Galgotias University organized 34th Bar Council of India Trust Inter University moot court competition from 25th Aug to 27th Aug 2017. The competition showed a huge turnout of around 60 law school participating for the prize. The opening ceremony was addressed by the enlightening words of Hon’ble Justice R.K.Agarwal, Shri Manan Kumar Mishra (Honourable Chairman Bar Council of India) and Shri Vijay Bhatt. Speaking on the occasion, Honourable Mr. Justice R. K. Agarwal encouraged the participants and shared the importance of mooting in the legal education The moot court witnessed four round of intense mooting. The valedictory ceremony was marked by the auspicious presence of Hon’ble Justice Rajiv Ranjan, Hon’ble Justice Ravi Ranjan, Mr. Manan Kumar Mishra (Hon’ble Chairman BCI), Mr. Debi Prasad Dhal(Co-Chairman BCI), Mr. Pratap Mehta(Associate Managing Trustee, BCI) and officials from Bar Council of India Trust.

SPORTS COMMITTEE

The successful setups of the society became possible with students participating in various competitions Intra and inter University competitions. It is the sole zeal and enthusiasm of the students which lead to the establishment of the sports society. The aim of the sports society is not to just to encourage the students to indulge in sports activities but also to help them realize the importance of working as a team, be passionate and also learn the ability to adjust in a harsh environment. The campus has provided for all the required facilities for all major outdoor games such as football, cricket, badminton, basketball, volleyball, and athletics. Apart from it, indoor games are also promoted with as much interest as outdoor games such as carom, chess and table tennis. The university regularly organizes such events, which aim to create a platform for both students and faculties to delve out of their academic curriculum and spend some time together for greater interaction. Art is a key to unlock all blockages in life and profession. Keeping this thought in mind, we at the school of law Galgotias University aims in provoking different texture of happiness in our day to day college activities in the form of celebrating the ethnic day, Gala sessions and chitchat meet which lead us to understand our friends better and develop team spirit and harmony among us. Little things make big differences and with this view, we try to make life exciting and cheerful at Law School by conducting various cultural and participating events for students and encourage them to showcase their skills. We believe that artistic minds are the best performers and their potential are always high and encouraging for others. CENTRE FOR CLINICAL LEGAL INITIATIVES (CCLI)

The Centre for Clinical Legal Initiatives (CCLI) was established to impart knowledge in clinical courses. The aim of the Centre is to impart complementary teaching methodology of learning by doing through the Law School Clinic. The Centre provides Clinical Legal Education to the students through legal aid clinics, client interviewing and counselling sessions by using Alternative Resolution mechanisms, legal drafting and conveyancing, court visits, etc. Clinical education improves student’s critical thinking, presentation skills to work as a team and their leadership quality. The Centre has an advisory board with members drawn from academia, judiciary, legal profession, bar and members drawn from key senior positions in ADR mechanism. The Ph.D. and LL.M. students who have clinical experience are also registered with the Centre to facilitate clinical legal education. Center for Legal Aid and center for clinical legal initiative conducted various workshops on child rights, women rights fundamental rights, cyber law awareness in different schools in NCR. Both the center in collaboration conducted around 60 such workshops in last one year. The center for legal aid also conducted various street play on human rights. Details of few of such events are given below.

Guest lecturers at a college conducted on regular basis and experts of specialized field of law and sitting and retired judges are invited on regular basis to enlighten the students. A Guest Lecture helps the student enhance their knowledge beyond class room lectures. Listening to a guest speaker and participating in ensuing discussions is an invaluable part of our University’s education.

Here at law school in Galgotias we conduct conferences at regular intervals which are part of annual academic planning. At a conference, innovative ideas are thrown about and new information is exchanged among students and experts. Most conferences have one or more keynote speakers who deliver’s the keynote speech.. PLACEMENT RULES ABOUT CAMPUS RECRUITMENT CELL Greetings from Placement Cell of School of Law, Galgotias University! The end aim of education is indeed to be recruited at best places wherein we can explore the practical aspects of what we have learned so far. The Placement Cell at Galgotias School of law takes up the task of ensuring this endeavor. As to facilitate students with better knowledge of legal entities, to help and guide students in application and practical experience in the Legal professional era. The placement cell is a faculty cum student initiative, which is been completely supported and guided by management at the law school by providing facilities and resources as per their needs. The cell aims at motivating students to build their professional profiles, training them for recruitments and developing opportunities for students in different domains and spheres. Recruiters must inform about their arrival well within time to the institution for the convenience of the cell to make all necessary arrangements for the interview sessions.

STUDENTS’ POLICY Eligibility All students enrolled for Law programmes shall be eligible to participate in campus placement activities within and outside the campus A student can avail only one placement through campus. In case of involvement of student in any of the following activities student will be debarred from participating in any recruitment activity : • Breach of discipline and general misconduct in campus/outside campus, hostels, • Non completion of Summer/winter internship and other academic requirements. • Non-payment of fees or any other dues. • Unethical behavior, complaint from industry, plagiarism, unfair means cases in exams etc. It is expected that all the participants shall adhere to the behavioral norms expected from the students of the University in accordance with University rules and guidelines ,as it shall reflect upon the reputation and goodwill of the University.

Pre Placement Offer (PPO) 1. Student interested to go for PPO are required to submit and intimate the Placement Cell with Hard copy/Soft Copy of the offer/appointment letter along from the organization they are joining. 2. The PPO must specify the periods of internship if any, along with the amount paid during that period. It is further required that the PPO must specify the date of joining along with the remuneration. 3. Along with the PPO students will have to submit application along with the Undertaking in the format given by the University stating that after accepting the PPO they are eliminated from the Campus Recruitment process.

PLACEMENT RULES Interview Procedure 1. The applicant shall keep all record of organizations and positions offered to him/her. 2. The applicant shall keep themselves updated with all announcements made during the recruitment process. 3. The applicant should be completely prepared for Written Tests, Group Discussions and Interviews, as and when required as per recruiters specifications. 4. Applicants are advised to research on the recruiter concerned beyond the details provided by the Cell for their benefit. 5. The applicant shall be punctual and in proper formals at the time of interviews and must carry their Curriculum-Vitae along with the relevant documents.

Mandatory Instructions School Of Law, Galgotias University Placement Cell aims to provide placement assistance to all applicants. Placement is a privilege extended to the students not a right. These guidelines are framed to ensure equality and fairness of opportunity to all the applicants. It is necessary that all applicants who have opted for Campus Placement shall abide by the guidelines prescribed above. Any breach of rules specified above by any applicant, shall be taken up seriously and disciplinary action will be taken against the applicant, Further his/ her candidature will be removed from placement cell and no opportunity will be offered to him/her for recruitment from the University. Final authority in case of any dispute would be the Dean her decision will be final.
