SPECIAL FEATURE - LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH

Ryon Tionloc first got involved with JCI at a young age, having family members who were also part of JCI Manila. It wasn't until he was invited to join the organization in December 2021 that he discovered the true essence of JCI Manila as an organization that trains leadership skills. He was inducted as a BJC in January 2022 and became a regular member in July 2022.

Through his journey with JCI Manila, Ryon has been involved in several significant projects, with his most memorable one being his community a airs projects. His BJC project, Project Renew 3, was an initiative to upcycle single-use sachets, tetra, and PET bottles into park bench es and upcycled trash bins in the JCI Manila Linear park in Pandacan, Manila. This project aimed to raise awareness on plastic recycling and waste segregation in the community. This year, he has two projects under the GoBIG board that focuses on the youth. Schools for Peace - Manila in Tondo aims to provide a roof and a library extension that will benefit 3,500 students and 100+ teachers in the Teodoro Yangco Elementary School. SMBP Boost aims to build the baseball and softball program of four communities aside from Smokey Mountain to provide opportunities for higher education through sports. The SMBP Boost program will directly benefit 260 kids aged 6-16 amongst the four communities as well as the parents of each child.

Being a member of JCI Manila has had a profound impact on Ryon's personal and professional life. He claimed that there's so much more to learn about himself out there, and joining the movement has taught him to strive to be the best version of himself in everything he does. Learning from all his peers in the organization has helped him grow each day, and he has realized that even if he goes outside his comfort zone, he still has the capability to perform to the best of his abilities. It has been challenging so far, but it's a challenge he is ready to face to the best of his capacity.

Ryon Tionloc works for the Monheim Group of Companies, a business that focuses on FMCG distribution and manu facturing for trade channels and consumers. Some of the brands that they distribute include SC Johnson, Pepsi, Gatorade, 3M, Mondelez, Red Bull, Henkel, Alaska, Lily's peanut butter, and many more. They cater to various chan nels ranging from supermarket chains to sari-sari stores.

When asked about his role and how he got into this industry, Ryon simply answered, "Family business." It's evident that he has been in the business for quite some time and has faced many challenges throughout his career. One of the biggest roles he has in the company is improving e ciency. He shared, "Aside from learning the business inside and out, improving e ciencies has always been one of the biggest roles I have in the company." Ryon credits JCI for helping him overcome some of the challenges he faced in his career.
