To begin de-cluttering, make a plan to go through your home room by room. If you have children that are old enough for chores, have them help go through their rooms. The first things that you are in search of in a room are items that are not needed or used. These items may be in great condition and could be donated or sold. If you catch yourself saying, “Well, I might use it one day,” this is a key sign that the item should go. If you can’t remember the last time you actually wore or used an item, the item should go. If it’s been more than 6 months since you last used the item, then it should go. Using these three key statements will help you discover items that you really shouldn’t keep.
