Once upon the time a little girl Agnė lived in the town. One day she decided to walk in the park. The girl saw a nice wand on the bench. She stretched her arm to take the wand but suddenly she heard the old man‘s voice: ’Do you like this wand? Would you like to have it? ’ ’Certainly,’ answered the fascinated girl. ’Wait a minute, don‘t take it. First, listen to me: this wand is extraordinary and magic. What would you like to change while using it?’ Girl started telling:
First of all, I would like to make peace all over the world. It is very sad to see so many suffering people when their relatives die, their homes are destroyed and the bombings are heard every single day...
I would like to erase poverty and to make people hear and listen to the poor ones. I would also like people who have more money to donate it for poor countries.
Also I would like racism to disappear. The dark-skinned people are not guilty for anything. After all, they are the same as we are. So why must they suffer? I wish that there weren’t any wars based on religion or culture.
I would like to show everybody that bullying is a very bad thing. I would be really happy if everybody was friendly, compassionate, loving and good to each other. I would tell people what tolerance is. I would make people more understandable and responsible for each other. I wish to have these powers because there are a lot of people in the world who are bullying, punching, teasing and fighting other people. I wish people to change and when they do, the world will be brighter.
I would also like to help the elders who were given up by their families. The elders feel sad, lonely and useless, so if I could I would create them home where they would feel loved and needful.
I wish to help animals which suffer from bad people. I would gift them to people who love pets and take care of them.
The future world is in children’s hands. That’s why I would also like that every child in the world would grow happy, satiated, safe and would dream about the better world as well as create it.
The old man was listening to girl’s wishes and smiling. ’You’re the wonderful girl. It would be great if there were more people like you. Take that wand and make your wishes come true’ the old man said and then he disappeared. ’I believe that we, children, are not just the part of the world, we can actually change it. So let’s start to act and change the world to the better side.’
