METROPOLIS R3

CNCA PROJECT PROFILE

Concrete Rises to New Heights at LA’s Metropolis 59-story R3 Tower is the Crowning Jewel of the Metropolis Development

“A concrete frame was selected for its faster schedule and construction efficiencies. Concrete frame projects are not slowed down by the need for pouring topping slabs on metal decking, fireproofing, and additional finishes” Bill Bramschreiber, Senior Superintendent, Charles Pankow Builders

The Metropolis in Downtown Los Angeles transformed a large swath of surface parking into a world-class development by creating living spaces in the heart of the city.

Compelling reasons for concrete frame construction were clearly focused on quality and efficiency. 

The concrete frame provided superior sound and vibration performance and provided for full floor to ceiling glass to capture surrounding views.

The 10’-4” floor to floor height created impressive efficiencies.

A self-climbing core and flying forms helped with speed of construction while providing high quality finishes.

The use of self-consolidating concrete and high-strength concrete assured maximum efficiencies with materials.
