residential neighborhood design
01
CONCEPT 06
To design an integrated neighborhood with a variety of networks, flexible and affordable houses, utility, and open spaces. Which are positioned within the environment without being altered in any major way to ensure a unique and comfortable experience for users and visitors.
The network provides multiple routes, helps disperse traffic congestion. Also, streets and sidewalks within the neighborhood, are relatively narrow and lined with trees, which will provide shadows, slow down traffic and create a better environment that is suited for pedestrians and transportations.

Residential Units 10
The estimated values average of family members 4 to 5, a villa with an area= of 140m2 and an apartment of an area= 280m2 per floor, both are suitable unites types. the neighborhood with a total land area= of 5.5 HECTOR, which it’s density=150 PER HECTOR.
Walkable neighborhood The design of the neighborhood offers a high quality of living, by providing public and open spaces that are well connected and integrated with its environment.
Human scale density Higher density areas gradually transition to lower density areas. Density supports a mix of uses and viable transit ridership.
Users needs This neighborhood has a mix of land uses and densities that provide options to live, learn, work, and play. More intensive land uses are connected and focused around transit, alternative transportation modes, and parks.
Unique Neighborhood Environmentally friendly The neighborhood is designed to enhance nature through greenways, and conserve wetlands and native plants. Also, provide natural elements suitable for land conditions and local ecology.
12
The neighborhood has a distinct identity fostering community pride and a sense of belonging. Arrival features, focal points, natural elements, public art, and other symbols of the community are integrated at important intersections and other locations within the neighborhood.

concept
The final destination which is focused on chooses and paths in everyone’s life, started by asking questions to yourself...when everything starts? What is your choice? Is it right? where it will reach? What about the future?? Is there an end...? All of these questions are raised within this building...the answers depend on your choices that will lead you to your path...the concept represented through the building as a life maze, every time you enter the building it will lead to different paths...

Form development
The idea started with one cube, then to add some movement repeat it and place them on top of each other, after that subtract and add from some parts, last add other shapes to complete the form. all these processes according to the environmental studies and the conceptual idea.

Definition what are abuse and trauma? abuse leads to trauma which is the experience of an event by a child that is emotionally painful or distressful, which often results in lasting mental and physical effects. I’m designing this project for children who suffer from different types of Abuse and Trauma.
Concept
The idea of this project is to free something within the child which is Trauma. Abuse leads to Trauma: A hidden disease with unconscious behavior. It affects the individual in daily life and grows with time, and affects the society in the long run. It represent in the building through three things: tree, mass, light
site plan The contour lines integrate the building with its natural environment. the expanded parts of the building are representing the roots of the tree embedded in the soil like the trauma in the children.
users experience The lower ground represents the roots. The upper ground and the first floor are representing the trunk through spaces, functions, and the whole environment to help the children and their parents to acknowledge the problem. The leaves are represented on the second floor, the third floor, and the fourth floor, those floors represent the children’s process of healing.
51
ele vation concep t The facade treatment has been designed to minimize the solar radiation inside the building and control the amount of light in the space through the pattern design and size, the louvers, and the stone wall as a local material.

The section shows green areas which improve the indoor and outdoor quality of the building such as the tree in the center and the outdoor rooftop.
The elevation shows the contrast between solid and void, vertical, and horizontal elements. Also, the smooth curve lines through the louvers and the semi-curve stairs are crossed by the vertical stone walls homogeneously.

This detailed drawing shows the layers of the skylight in the library ceiling. The slop of the landscape is appropriate for children to climb or step on it based on the age of the children, so they can see the inside of the library from the skylight.

HOPE a community established by our great Dr. Tarek Hanafi to gather most of the students he taught. His aim is to connect students together, help and support each other, and the most important thing is to have our Home inside the university.
we paint a wall with words that represent light and dark filling, and HOPE in the center.
