Parents have the right to be supported to raise their children in a safe and loving home free from violence and abuse. When families and parents are struggling to provide this kind of home life for children – the NSW government has supports that can help.

If you think that you, or someone you know, could benefit from home with home life (such as parenting, safe relationships or substance misuse), there are local supports that can help families get through tough times.

A good place to start is Family Connect and Support. This statewide service links families with community supports to help create happy home environments and to avoid crisis situations. How can Family Connect and Support help?No matter what your specific situation may be, FCS is available to give you some extra support. FCS can connect you to local services that can help with:
• Understanding and managing your child’s behaviour.
• Budgeting and money matters.
• Alcohol, drug or gambling problems.
• Access to housing, health care or other community and government services.
• Building strong family relationships.
• Keeping everyone safe at home.
These are just some of the things that FCS can help with. You can talk to us about your specific circumstances.
Who is eligible?
There is no formal eligibility criteria for Family Connect and Support. In most cases however there must be a child/young person aged 0 - 18 in the family or household.
What to expect
FCS provides a responsive and flexible service to your family. FCS can work with your family for up to 16 weeks.
