FOREWORD BY PREMIER OF NEW SOUTH WALES

Protecting our children is a shared role, a shared responsibility which includes all of us, both at the institutional and the personal level. The purpose of this handbook is to help all of us take on that responsibility, by providing prevention strategies to parents, families, friends, and everyone.

Together we can nurture safe and supportive environments that ensure the safety and dignity of our young people, who are often the most vulnerable, and the most overlooked.

This is a journey without end. Every generation must recommit to the choice for dignity and safety for our children, and none of us can push that responsibility onto others.

Congratulations to NSW Police Legacy for continuing this important work. As you read through these pages I encourage you to implement them in your life – in doing so you will be helping to save lives.
