Like most parents, we all wish there had been a guidebook handed out with the birth of our children to help us navigate the ups and downs of raising them and keeping them safe.
The Associated Media Group must have heard us wishing, because the Child Safety Handbook provides the most up-to-date resources to help navigate the health and safety issues facing our children. It is an invaluable addition to any parenting toolbox in this modern and complex world we are living in.
NSW Police Legacy is very proud to have been associated with this important resource for more than eight years now, and grateful to all the organisations that advertise within it. Your continuing support benefits the families of deceased Police Officers across New South Wales.

The NSW Police Legacy Child Safety Handbook is a free compendium, offering easy-to-read facts and advice on maintaining a safe, healthy envronment for children.
Drawing on current evidence from leading Australian and international research and education authorities, the Handbook explains the hazards most of us know about – and identifies many that we might not have considered to be so dangerous.
The Handbook is distributed in a highly interactive digital format to parents, carers and teachers of primary school children throughout NSW each year as follows:
• NSW primary schools, public, private and catholic (approx 2,200 schools)
• Early learning centres
• Principals Associations
• Parent Associations
Social media:
• Government agencies supporting children’s health & safety, e.g. family & community services, department of education, etc.
• We encourage all supporters to share on social media
Because you care about this goal too, you can now join us – parents, carers, police, teachers and other professionals who are committed to child safety awareness – in our efforts to ensure all children enjoy opportunities to live full, healthy and happy lives.
Promoting your products and services in this comprehensive digital resource, demonstrates to families in NSW your support not only for child safety, but also for the families of the police men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting us.
Child safety risks are high, but sponsoring a resource filled with evidence-based advice and endorsed by reputable organisations is possibly one of the best decisions you can trust to return benefits for your business and your community.
It’s an opportunity like no other – can you access a better distribution channel for reaching young families and having your message delivered into the hands of parents?
Before you check out the sponsorship options on page 8, please take a few minutes to read how this Handbook (and the funds it raises for NSW Police Legacy) can make a powerful difference.

–Lorna Reardon, Clinical Coordinator, Emergency Department, Sydney Children’s HospitalChild protection and safety remains a priority for NSW Police Force now and into the future. All children are vulnerable and it is everyone’s responsibility to keep them safe from abuse, harm or neglect in any environment. By providing every child, in every community, the knowledge and skills they need to grow and learn we are giving them the best tools to equip themselves for the future.

This handbook is a comprehensive resource to assist parents, carers and teachers on a range of topics essential to child safety. I encourage children and parents to read this together, so that they are confident an educated enough to keep themselves out of harm’s way.
