Popular Music

The School of Music, Dance and Theatre’s popular music concentration is a flexible bachelor’s degree program that welcomes 21st-century musicians interested in working in the popular music industry. This includes but is not limited to singers and songwriters, laptop performers, producers, composers, instrumentalists, vocalists, sound designers, software developers, audio engineers, and aspiring executives and music entrepreneurs. Students choose two to three specializations and complete four semesters of applied study culminating in a capstone project.

Students attend classes at ASU’s new Fusion on First building in downtown Phoenix. The high-tech innovation hub features a suite of world-class recording studios, rehearsal and performance spaces, digital media labs and studios, and access to a plethora of instrumentation and technology to support student success.
