The Love of Allah forgiveness of sin Sura 3:31 Aal-E-Imran

Greetings in the name of Allah who loves us with an everlasting love. Dear reader, many uniformed Christians say that Allah in the Qur’an is unloving, or that love is seldom mentioned in Islam. Yet we find a most profound ayat in: Sura 3:31 Aal-E-Imran “…Allah will love you and forgive you your sins: For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” I, as a Seventh Day Adventist find that love is mentioned over fifty times in the Honored Qur’an and that the term ‘forgiveness’ and close derivatives of the same word are found well over two hundred times! Is forgiveness not a clear aspect of love? Amazing to say the least! The topic I want to review today is how Allah’s love is shown in the forgiveness of sin. If we had no forgiveness from Allah we would be eternally lost. Back in those far off days of Adam when in the Garden of Bliss, he sinned and lost his way. Because we are the children of Adam we too lost our way and because of his sin we have inherited a nature destitute of true love and can look forward only to eternal death. “When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.” Injeel Romans 5:12 However this is not the end, the Honored Qur’an speaks of the “blotting out of sins.” Sura 3:195 Aal-E-Imran as well as the “gracious forgiveness of Allah” Sura 15:85 Hijr. But how is this accomplished for man? . This little tract will review this old truth in new ways. Because of these promises we have a hope which we can hold on to which unbelievers do not have. We should count ourselves blessed to make this information known to all around us. The Honored Qur’an tells us that: “We did bestow on some prophets more (and other) gifts than on others: and We gave to David [Daud] (the gift of) the Psalms.” Sura 17:55 Al-Isra In the Psalms, Zabur we read: “But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.” Psalms 130:4 Daud also plead…”Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.” Psalms 51:9

The Cost of Forgiveness! For many, little thought is given into the cost which Allah incurred in giving us forgiveness for our sins. Remember that when a person sins and does a wrong deed, there is always a cost or payment. When someone has wronged you, for example, stolen a valuable item from your home, such as a big screen TV and the thief is caught several things can happen. 1. 2. 3.

The thief can be forgiven and you bear the loss of your big screen TV! Thus you suffer the loss. The thief can be jailed then he suffers the loss of his freedom. Someone else offers to replace your TV out of kindness of his heart. The thief goes free. This other person suffers the loss personally.

Remember forgiveness always comes with a cost, someone always pays. When it comes to our sins, we can suffer the cost and pay the price for our sin and loose our eternal life as the wages or cost of sin is death. “For the wages of sin is death…” Injeel Romans 6:23 This third case is what Allah has done for us. If we should suffer for our sins, we would lose our life for eternity, but because of Allah’s love, kindness and mercy for us, He has willingly taken our case upon Himself. He has offered One who was in the bosom of Allah to pay the price for our sins. He has offered the life of His only begotten Son, in our stead. He was One whom was nearest to Allah. Called the Word of Allah, Kalimatu Allah. Sura 3:39, 3:45, 4:171. “Behold! the angels said: “O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah.” Sura 3:45 Aal-E-Imran Allah commended his love to us…that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 Yes dear friends this we often overlook. Someone had to pay the price for our sin! The cost of forgiveness was high, extremely high, death! “For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of His Son while we were still His enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of His Son.” Injeel Romans 5:10 “The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead after you killed Him by hanging Him on a cross. Then God put Him in the place of honor at his right hand as Prince and Saviour. He did this so the people …would repent of their sins and be forgiven.” Injeel Acts 5:30-31 So the cost of our forgiveness was death…the death of Isa al-Masih. In this way justice was met and mercy was extended to the family of man. Man could go free on condition that he abide by the terms of redemption. Man needs to believe and receive what Allah has done. “We have been set free because of what Christ has done. Through his blood our sins have been forgiven. We have been set free because God’s grace is so rich.” Injeel Ephesians 1:7

Forgiveness Demonstrated! So close was Isa al-Masih to Allah and so clearly did Isa represent Allah that He stated: “ He who has seen Me has seen the Father.” Injeel John 14:9 We get a much better picture of the forgiveness of Allah when we see how Isa treated those who persecuted Him while they were hanging Him upon the cross for execution. Here is profound forgiveness displayed in the life of Isa and in a magnitude never seen in the universe before. Remember Isa is the “express image” of Allah. Here is a clear verse which describes His closeness with Allah. “The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and He sustains everything by the mighty power of His command. When He had cleansed us from our sins, He sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.” Injeel Hebrews 1:3 When the Roman soldiers nailed Isa on the cross at the request of the Jews…there was only profound love and humility in the heart of Isa. No hatred was shown and while they were doing their fearful work, Isa was praying for them, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” And the soldiers gambled for His clothes by throwing dice.” Injeel Luke 23:34 That prayer of Isa for forgiveness embraced the entire world. To all forgiveness from Allah through Isa is freely offered. Whosoever will may find peace with God and inherit eternal life. No vengeance was invoked upon soldiers, priests, or rulers, rather Isa pitied them in their ignorance and guilt. He breathed only a plea for their forgiveness. Dear friends today you may make it possible so that the prayer of Isa al-Masih be answered in your life. That prayer embraces every soul which has ever lived, it embraced each person from the entire family of Adam. It was Allah which did send Isa into the world to redeem man from sin and it’s effect. Isa earned the right to forgive us and now we stand with this sacred privilege to be once again reinstated into the paradise of God. Wondrous love and forgiveness!

The High Cost of Forgiveness! Some may seem to think that it was a small thing for the Father to send Isa into the world to pay the penalty for man’s transgression. Though the plan of salvation had been set in place long before the creation of the earth; . . . yet it was a struggle, even with the King of the universe, to yield up His only begotten son to die for the guilty race. . . . Oh, the mystery of redemption! The love of God for a world that did not love Him! Through endless ages immortal minds, seeking to comprehend the mystery of that incomprehensible love, will wonder and adore. Now we can respond by repentance toward God and faith in Christ. Thus the fallen children of Adam might once more become “sons of God” through adoption. Injeel 1 John 3:2-3. “Behold what manner of love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God. Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be. But we know that when He shall be revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” Today dear friend of Allah, you can make that choice to accept and believe that Isa al-Masih is the One whom was sent into this dark world to purchase our ransom with His own life and blood. To reject such an expensive offer would keenly insult Allah in His forgiveness to you. Today, may you choose to have peace through the sacrifice of Isa al-Masih!
