CENTRAL SAINT MARTINS APPROPRIATION London, United Kingdom »  Rooftops on commercial buildings contain interstitial space amid HVAC systems »  The idea was to use this space in a dense city like London and draw elements from the Warholian Factory to appropriate the roof and create a space for young creative professionals to live and work »  Materials used for the transformation were inspired by industrialized and mass produced “off the rack” elements such as corrugated metal, plywood sheets, and standard lumber cuts

In collaboration with Carolina Holy »  Syracuse University’s study abroad program is located in the historical Villa Rossa »  Originally designed to exist in outskirts of Florence, current city limits make its archetype encourage seclusion of the students from the surrounding context »  Our redesign proposes to multiply the typology of the villa and juxtapose it with that of the Florentine Palazzo to create a multitude of welcoming spaces for the public and encourage student interaction with the surrounding city

The Micro-Unit aggregates into the following components to make the best use of the available space:

Pullout Closet Kitchenette + Storage

1) Kitchenette: The largest program in the unit, the space aims at making the Brick comfortable to cook in with ample backup space and appliances. The setup also accommodates a washer and dryer so laundry is taken care of as well. 2) Bed: Raising the bed allows for under bed storage well as a space to slide the loveseat into. The inbuilt closet adjacent to the bed also extends to above-bed storage for both short and seasonal storage. 3) Living/Working Space: While having guests over, it is possible to easily transform the space to accommodate a small group. This is made possible with the help of dynamic custom furniture which can be reconfigured to suit several needs. 4)Bathroom: Features ample shower space and inbuilt storage with no cramping.

There are two belts of glaciers at Mars central latitudes, 30°~50° in both the southern and northern hemispheres covered by a thick layer of dust.
