MAC CAMERA IS NOT WORKING?
TEST THE CAMERA ON A MAC
1. Go to the Applications folder (or Launchpad) and open the Photo Booth app. 2. This app will automatically open your Mac camera. 3. If you can see yourself in the camera’s picture, then the camera is working.
CHECK THE APPS’ PERMISSIONS FOR USING THE MAC CAMERA
1. Open System Preferences. 2. Go to the Security & Privacy section
→
Privacy tab.
3. Click on Camera in the sidebar. 4. Here you will see the list of applications that have requested access to your webcam.
CHECK THE RUNNING APPS THAT ARE USING THE MAC CAMERA Note that your Mac’s camera can’t be used by several applications at the same time. Close all camera-based applications like Skype, Zoom, Photo Booth, etc. and check whether there are any camera-related running processes working in the background.
RESTART MAC CAMERA-RELATED PROCESSES 1. Open Terminal. 2. Type the following commands and press Return: 3. sudo killall VDCAssistant; sudo killall AppleCameraAssistant
