You helped to make our Autumn 2013 season one of the most successful in our history. West Side Story broke box office records for a musical playing at the New Theatre; The Mousetrap, Cabaret, Welsh National Opera and our Christmas show, Cats, all enjoyed huge success and earned rave reviews from you. Looking ahead, I am pleased that we are again able to bring some of the biggest productions and acts touring the UK currently to Oxford. As well as operating 39 venues in the UK and 1 on Broadway, ATG are also producing a number of musicals this year. In Oxford, these include a brand-new production of Annie Get Your Gun (June); the musical featuring the hits of Rod Stewart - Tonight’s The Night (July) and the West End smash-hit Rock Of Ages (October). Later in the year, we have more great musicals for you - in July the classic feel-good rock’n’roll hit Buddy; November brings fun for all of the family with the larger than life Shrek and then our Christmas show Dirty Dancing.

AND MANY MORE The No. 1 hit musical, Grease, returns to the New Theatre for one week only in a brand new production. Set in 1959, Grease tells not only the famous story of Danny and Sandy, but also how America was changed in the 1950s by Rock ‘n’ Roll, heralding a new age of sexual freedom and the advent of the ‘teenager’. It’s the original High-School musical, featuring the unforgettable songs from the hit movie, including You’re The One That I Want, Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted To You, Greased Lightnin’, and many more. This is Grease as audiences know and love it. With Danny, Sandy, the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies, and more Rock ‘n’ Roll than you can shake a stick at, Grease has been a Broadway and West End success since the early 1970s. This entirely new production by award-winning company Oxford Operatic Society (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Beauty and the Beast, The Sound of Music) promises to be one you won’t want to miss. So throw your mittens around your kittens and hand-jive the night away at the most electrifyin’ extravaganza on stage. Be there or be square! Book, music, and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey.
