BY ALAN AYCKBOURN DIRECTOR LAURENCE BOSWELL

STARRING

CLAIRE PRICE NATALIE IMBRUGLIa EDWARD BENNETT SIMON GREGOr ‘alan ayckbourn’s 52nd full-length play and one of his best uproariously funny’ sunday times

One of the world’s greatest playwrights; one of the greatest plays of the nineties and International star Nathalie Imbruglia Things We Do For Love will undoubtedly be one of the theatrical highlights of the year. In South West London Barbara, elegant and glacial, lives in immaculate order on the middle floor of her converted house. Downstairs, lovelorn postman and part-time plumber Gilbert has created a shrine to his landlady. Upstairs, the flat is empty, a perfect temporary bolthole for Nikki, Barbara’s old school-friend, and her fiancé Hamish. Unfortunately Hamish is everything that Barbara despises (bearded, Scottish and vegetarian) and Hamish takes an instant dislike to the ever-intolerant Barbara - a hostility which hides deeper feelings. Actress and singer Natalie Imbruglia began her career on Neighbours, where she played Beth Brennan. She went on to become one of the biggest pop sensations in Europe. Things We Do For Love marks her UK stage debut.

Inspired by the 7 smash hit multi-million selling albums of the same name, the West End sell out sensation Dreamboats and Petticoats features some of the greatest hit songs of the Rock ‘n’ Roll era. The dazzling success of the first seven albums in the Dreamboats and Petticoats series sent the message loud and clear. With over 3 and a half million copies sold and several weeks at the Number One spot in the compilation charts, the Great British public were saying that they didn’t just want to listen to pure nostalgia: they’d love to see it as well. In 1961 emotions run high as young musicians Norman and Bobby compete to win a national song writing competition - and, more importantly, the attention of the gorgeous Sue! But when Bobby discovers that shy Laura is no slouch on the piano, love and rock ‘n’ roll fame beckons. Featuring classic tracks from Roy Orbison, The Shadows, Eddie Cochran, Billy Fury, and many more, including Let’s Dance, To Know Him Is To Love Him, Shaking All Over, Bobby’s Girl, Little Town Flirt, Only Sixteen, Runaround Sue, Happy Birthday Sweet 16, Let It Be Me, Great Pretender, C’mon Everybody, Let’s Twist Again and many more hits from music’s golden era! SUNDAY EXPRESS

Discover the heady, indulgent days of New York’s Long Island during the glamorous 1920s as Northern Ballet brings F Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel The Great Gatsby to the stage. Nick Carraway comes to know his infamous neighbour Jay Gatsby - a mysterious millionaire with a secret past and a penchant for lavish parties and beautiful women. As the sparkling façade of Gatsby’s world begins to slip, Carraway comes to see the loneliness, obsession and tragedy that lies beneath. The seductive style of the era is recreated through stunning sets and costumes. Music by Academy Award nominated and BAFTA winning composer Sir Richard Rodney Bennett CBE (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Murder on the Orient Express), will be played live by Northern Ballet Sinfonia. Three Little Pigs If you have little ones in your life, Northern Ballet is also performing Three Little Pigs. These 35 minute performances are the perfect way to introduce children to the magic of live ballet, music and storytelling.
