DESIGNER JONATHAN FENSOM LIGHTING DESIGNER MARK DYMOCK This razor-sharp satire lifts the lid on race and real estate in a fictional Chicago neighbourhood. Bruce Norris’ hilarious Clybourne Park took the West End by storm following a sold out run at the Royal Court Theatre in London. Acclaimed by critics and audiences alike since its debut on Broadway in 2009, Clybourne Park has been awarded Best Play at the Olivier Awards, Best Play at the Tony Awards, the Evening Standard Best Play Award, the South Bank Sky Arts Theatre Award and Critics’ Circle Best Play Award. The swinging sixties are just around the corner as a black family move into a suburban white enclave, triggering all too predictable mutterings from the neighbours. Fifty years on, we return to the same house in 2009 as gentrification sets in and the roles are reversed. One skilful ensemble of actors play two sets of characters in a play hailed as ‘SHOCKINGLY ENTERTAINING’ and ‘APPALLINGLY FUNNY’.

Following the sell-out successes of Ugly Duckling, Three Little Pigs and Elves & the Shoemaker and the TV adaptations for CBeebies, Northern Ballet bring their magic to Aesop’s much-loved fable Tortoise & the Hare. Once upon a time there was a speedy Hare who never stopped talking about how fast he could run. Tired of being teased for his slowness, Tortoise challenged him to a race. No one thought he could win, but life is full of surprises! These child friendly performances last approximately 40 minutes and are the perfect opportunity for your little ones to enjoy live ballet, music and theatre.
Surprise! Peppa Pig, George and their friends are back in Richmond in a brand new live stage show. It’s a lovely day and Peppa is playing outside with her friends. Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig have got a surprise for her and George - can you guess what it is? Enjoy fun, loads of songs and of course, surprises in this charming, colourful new show. Peppa Pig’s Surprise promises to be the perfect theatre show for all pre-schoolers!
The team that brought the hugely successful all-male production The Pirates of Penzance - winner of Best Off West End Production at the What’s On Stage awards - take Gilbert & Sullivan below deck, where the WWII sailors set out to find a distraction from the goings on above board with a production of one of their favourite shows - H.M.S. Pinafore. Sasha Regan returns to Richmond Theatre with another thrilling all-male version of a much-loved classic and one of the most popular Gilbert & Sullivan operas. Dealing with the age old conundrum of love between social classes, H.M.S. Pinafore has infectious tunes and a beautifully constructed libretto, a perfect match for Sasha’s inimitable style: fresh, fast, inventive and fun, an absolute must-see!

A VERSION OF THE PLAY BY AUGUST STRINDBERG DIRECTED BY ANTHONY BANKS Set in 1945 in an English country house, on the eve of Labour’s landslide victory at the end of the second world war, this compelling and erotic psychological thriller is inspired by Strindberg’s 1888 masterpiece. During a summer ball, the beautiful daughter of the peer who owns the house, wanders into the servant’s quarters. As she flirts with her father’s handsome chauffeur, indifferent to the presence of his fiancée, what begins as game-playing ignites into passion with devastating consequences. Helen George plays Miss Julie. Well-known for her role as Trixie Franklin in Call the Midwife, she recently received huge praise for her thrilling performances on Strictly Come Dancing. Patrick Marber‘s plays include Dealer’s Choice, which won the 1995 Evening Standard Award for Best Comedy, and the phenomenal international hit, Closer, which won the Evening Standard award for Best Comedy, the Critics’ Circle and Olivier awards for Best New Play and was made into a BAFTA Award-winning film in 2004. Continuing its record breaking run at the Fortune Theatre in London’s West End, The Woman in Black now embarks on a major UK Tour next Spring and is coming to Richmond Theatre! Susan Hill’s acclaimed ghost story comes dramatically alive in Stephen Mallatratt’s ingenious stage adaptation. This gripping production, directed by Robin Herford, is a brilliantly successful study in atmosphere, illusion and controlled horror. A lawyer obsessed with a curse that he believes has been cast over him and his family by the spectre of a Woman in Black, engages a sceptical young actor to help him tell his terrifying story and exorcise the fear that grips his soul. It all begins innocently enough, but then, as they reach further into his darkest memories, they find themselves caught up in a world of eerie marshes and moaning winds.

‘TWO HOURS OF CONTINUOUS LAUGHTER’
PUNCH
ROBERT POWELL
LIZA GODDARD
BY ALAN AYCKBOURN Greg only met Ginny a month ago but has already made up his mind that she’s the girl for him. When she tells him that she’s going to visit her parents, he decides this is the moment to ask her father for his daughter’s hand. Discovering a scribbled address, he follows her to Buckinghamshire where he finds Philip and Sheila enjoying a peaceful Sunday morning breakfast in the garden, but the only thing is they’re not Ginny’s parents. Beautifully crafted, wonderfully funny and charmingly English, Relatively Speaking was Alan Ayckbourn’s first great West End success and turned him into a household name, hailing the arrival of a great new comic talent. The award-winning Robert Powell returns to Richmond Theatre following the overwhelming success of King Charles III, accompanied by one of the UK’s favourite actresses Liza Goddard (Doctor Who, Midsommer Murders).
