The Liverpool Empire Youth Dance Company
We are now recruiting for new members aged 14-19 years for our youth dance company (school year 9 and above). The Youth Dance Company meets weekly at the Liverpool Empire Theatre and involves young people working towards a number of performances throughout the year under the guidance of our practitioners. All participants will gain training in a variety of disciplines including Contemporary, Ballet and Musical Theatre. The company will also look into choreographic skills and creative dance styles. This year the Liverpool Empire Creative Learning Department will be producing ‘Showstoppers 2018’ a showcase which will be performed on the world famous Liverpool Empire Theatre Stage. This will take place on 4th April with the technical rehearsal on 3rd April. The Youth Dance Company will be working towards dance numbers to be performed in the production. We will also take the Youth Dance Company to perform at the Regent Theatre in Stoke-on-Trent on the 3rd March in a collaborative piece with the Musical Theatre Stars. In addition to these opportunities the Creative Learning Department are also producing a full scale musical theatre production in the summer. This will be performed 13th-25th August. The Youth Dance Company will have the opportunity to be part of the dance team for this production. We will also be looking into another performance opportunity on 24-25th March. Although these dates haven’t been confirmed please keep them available.

Liverpool Empire Youth Dance Company 2017 - 2018 Those wishing to be part of the company will need to attend the auditions on Tuesday 21st November 6:30-8:30pm and recall auditions will take place on the 28th November 2017. Auditions are free and are open to everyone regardless of experience. You must complete and return an application by midday on Friday 17th November 2017 to apply. You will be notified after the application deadline of your audition time via email no later than 6pm Monday 20th November. During the audition you will be required to take part in a dance workshop further details will be sent. Membership for the youth dance company is for a full academic year from November 2017 – August 2018. £250 Membership fees are payable following a successful audition Please complete the application form on the following page and return along with two passport photographs which will be used for identification at the auditions. The Ambassador Theatre Group recognises the need to ensure the welfare and safety of all children. In accordance with our child protection policy we will not permit photographs, video or other images of children and young people to be taken without the consent of the guardian /carers and children.
The Ambassador Theatre Group will follow the guidance for the use of photographs a copy of which is available from the Head of Learning & Access. The Ambassador Theatre Group will take all steps to ensure these images are used solely for the purposes they are intended. If you become aware that these images are being used inappropriately, you should inform the Ambassador Theatre Group immediately. Images will be held by The Ambassador Theatre group and may be used to promote future projects without further notice for a period of five years after the event.
