Alice Donohoe Australia Softball Athlete
Alice Donohoe Softball has been my life for the past 6 years & I’ve been lucky to have been able to compete non stop for most of this time. Unfortunately as my time in the U19 age group comes to an end so do my opportunities to play continuously at an elite level. The standard of softball in NSW is the highest in Australia & my chances for playing in a NSW Open Women’s team may be limited unless I broaden my horizons. I would also like to combine study with training & playing.

What makes you different to other athletes? I’ve never been the “star of a team, but I have always pitched consistently and am working extremely hard on more speed at the present. But I always hit the spots, my movement is working really well and I have a killer change-up!
Interview
Why should a coach choose you for their team? I have a great work ethic and am eager to learn all I can to improve my playing and life skills. I’m a great team member and bring a lot to the dugout. I think being on the bench is just as important as being on the diamond and my voice of encouragement is usually the loudest. I just love being in and feeling part of a team.
How hard do you work on your goals? Really, really hard. I have spent all of this year working on the Australian squad training program, I have lost weight, improved my strength and fitness levels and am doing everything I can to be considered for selection in the Australian U19 2013 World Championships Team. I have sacrificed a lot for this goal.
College Goals I’m really open minded about college and quite simply I just want to go to a good school, play ball, travel, make friends and make some great memories.
Life Goals My immediate goal is to be selected into the U19 Australian team for the 2013 World Championships. Long term goals is to play softball for as long as I can and receive an education and travel while I do it.
