INTERVIEW Why do you want to compete in the Collegiate system?
I am keen to compete in the Collegiate system because I believe it will be a great experience and honor for me to play the sport that I have such a passion for. This opportunity will enable me to contribute as a valuable member of a tennis team, continuously improve my game, meet new people and obtain a strong education to build my future. I enjoy being part of a team environment and I look forward to being able to play the game of tennis in the Collegiate system. Why should a coach choose you for their team?
I have demonstrated that I am very proficient in playing tennis and have the potential to develop my tennis ability even further. My ability to change strategy whilst playing the game and remaining focused under pressure has enabled me to perform successfully over the years. I play well as an individual and as a member of a team which is evident from the various tennis awards I have won. When I play tennis it is visible that I have a real passion for the sport and can be relied upon to achieve excellent results. I am both friendly and personable and have always developed positive relationships with people at all levels. I support my team members by encouraging them to do their best and providing guidance to junior members. It is my dream to be selected to play as part of a College Tennis team where I would always do my best for the team and strive to continuously improve.
What makes you different to other players?
I am open to learning new techniques and developing ideas that could benefit my own tennis game and that of the team. I believe I have the ability to remain calm in pressure situations and find solutions to problems that may arise. With my friendly and flexible approach, I am able to fit into any team and am viewed by my seniors, peers and juniors as a highly respected and consistent tennis player. How hard do you work on your goals?
I work extremely hard towards my goals. I currently play tennis in 3 divisions (school, juniors and seniors) and I train three to four times a week.
Life goals?
To complete a PHD in psychology and continue playing competitive tennis. College goals?
My college goals are to be part of an NCAA Division I college and play tennis at a competitive level.
