Sport Scholarship Agency
Mitchell Thorn I wish to compete in the collegiate system so that I will be able to complete a university degree while still being able to play soccer full time. While studying and playing soccer in Australia I am unable to complete this, I would need to study part time. I also believe that studying in America would not only be a fantastic experience culturally but also a fantastic way to experience American soccer. It will also be a great way to meet new people, have new experiences and explore new interests of mine.

Academic goals I set very high academic goals for myself. Currently I am studying engineering at Queensland’s University of Technology. I aspire to become an engineer if I do not pursue soccer. If I were to gain a scholarship into an American college, I would like to continue some form of engineering or mathematics course. However if this is not the case, I will not be concerned. Whichever course I study within college I will focus completely on it in order to do the best that I can. Depending on my circumstances I would also consider completing an honours degree within university.

Interview
Why should a coach choose you for their team? A coach should choose me as I will be an excellent addition to their team. Not only will I bring a high level of professionalism and experience onto the field, I will show these same qualities off the field with my studies. I believe I am a leader both on and off the field, showing great communication skills and a fantastic attitude. I will be completely committed to my team and to my study. Not only will I be committed, I will work extremely hard in order to achieve great
What makes me different to other players I believe what makes me different from other players is that I am level headed and stay focused on the task in hand. As mentioned before I will be able to succeed in both my studies and training commitments.
How hard do you work on your goals? I work extremely hard on my goals. I continue to pursue these goals until they have been accomplished. Whether these are short team goals, ie assignments or long term goals. I do not assume these goals are easy and work really hard to achieve them
College Goals My college goals are to play regular soccer throughout the season, making the number 1 position as soon as possible. I also wish to complete my degree with a gpa of 3.5. If I can achieve this I will be extremely happy and hopefully I can become drafted into the MLS at the end of my degree
Life Goals My life goals are to become a professional soccer player. I want to have a successful career whether this be playing soccer or through my academics. Whichever it is I want to be achieve it at the highest level.
