Sam Edwards There is nothing in Australia that compares to the US college sports system and what it offers with the level of competition and the scale and support that is provided. I am excited by the prospect of being a participant in this sporting arena while at same time earning a college degree. This is an opportunity I want to embrace.

I am intrigued by the collegiate system and what it has to offer. Fine coaches and facilities and competing with and against some of the best colleges in the States along with an opportunity to be drafted by the MLS is something that really excites me. I would love to be a part of this to strive to be the best I can be.

Interview Why should a coach choose you for their team? I am reliable, passionate and committed to being a part of a team, and representing a college. I have a strong work ethic, spirit and heart that will take me to where I want to go. I am always looking to improve myself and I am excited about the prospect of competing in the Collegiate system and learning more on and off the pitch. What makes you different to other players? I am 6ft tall and I am exceptionally quick and agile and can beat an opponent in the air and on the ball. I can read the game phenomenally well and I am precise with passing. I have been raised with a never say die attitude and I refuse to be beaten by anyone. I will never back down and I will never quit. How hard do you work on your goals? I work extremely hard on my goals especially with the commitment that I have made to myself with soccer. I have set myself short and long-term goals that I revise regularly to ensure that I am on track. I am a focused and dedicated athlete and I incorporate this attitude into my study. I will not give up and I will always strive to give my best. The harder you work the harder it is to surrender. I am excited by challenges and I will always overcome them. What are your college goals? The greater the challenge the greater the reward. I have set my goal to strive to complete a college degree and be a successful scholar. I want to challenge myself both physically and mentally and this will get me to where I want to be, playing college soccer while completing a degree. What are your life goals? My main goal in life is to become a professional Soccer player.
