3Youth ages 12 to 19 are invited to participate in the Civil Air Patrol cadet squadron, a volunteer auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force based in Sandy Springs. In this character and leadership development program, participants will learn about aviation, aerospace and the military. Cadets can take orientation ights
in planes and gliders, earn badges, and assist in search

4Sandy Springs resident Cate Uebelacker recently received the Girl Scouts’ highest honor, the Gold Award, for her project creating powdered laundry detergent for bene ciaries of the Community Assistance Center, a nonpro t helping neighbors in need. A Blessed Trinity Catholic High School graduate, Cate created a product that impacted between 400 and 600 center recipients by allowing them to wash their clothes, bedding and towels. girlscoutsatl.org
