keep it personal

OUR FEBRUARY ISSUE celebrates the way we live now—in 2020. Our main feature covers nearly every nook and cranny of a freshly renovated residence—our 2019 Home for the Holidays Showhouse, which was completed in November. A showcase of architectural exuberance and first-to-market interior details, the residence, located on a private, sprawling property in Sandy Springs, also touched on two current buzzwords: experience and wellness. No, this was not a house designed for Instagram. Yet its unique eccentricities—from a floating glass box addition housing the master bathroom on one end to a distinctive office tower for the man of the house on the other, with a two-story dining room inspired by Viking gathering halls in between—indeed engaged the senses and provided an exciting, memorable experience. And, not unlike the epic poem, Beowulf, written about Viking culture, the house conveyed an intriguing narrative that unfolded from room to room. Then there was the wellness factor. It was not unusual to spot a family of deer prancing through the grounds from the glass-box master bath each day, providing an idyllic note. On the terrace level, a dedicated spa suite, complete with therapy tub and foot spa, overlooked the sprawling landscape outside a pair of French doors, providing a window into a wonderfully natural world. Of course, the ultimate experience was sharing this Showhouse with many of you! Read on to relive your favorite moments.
