BLACK MUSIC MONTH EVENT: RAPPER’S DELIGHT
Each June, Black Music Month celebrates the African American musical influences that are an essential part of our nation’s treasured cultural heritage.
The 2023 NBAF Black Music Month program, “Rapper’s Delight: 50 Years of Hip Hop,” will take place on Saturday, June 10th at Westside Paper in Atlanta, GA.
NBAF is pleased to partner with ONE Musicfest, the largest urban progressive music festival in the Southeast, to celebrate one of the worlds most influential Black cultural movements with an immersive event that merges music, technology, art, video installations, and live music to honor 50 years of culture!
The kickoff to Rapper’s Delight, NBAF is excited to host ONE Musicfest’s annual OMF Honors Mixer! The OMF Honors Mixer curated by NBAF is an exclusive awards event for 200 of the city’s industry leaders, celebrities and taste-makers coming together to honor pioneers in Black culture and music.
Utilizing silent disco headphones and immersive video projections on oversized walls, the Rapper’s Delight public program will allow attendees to move through multiple party pods to curate their own party experience!
With a soundtrack by some of Atlanta’s top DJs, each silent disco party pod will immerse attendees in hip hop culture and let them relive their favorite hip hop moments.
Attendees will be able to change the station on their headphones as they move throughout the event to create their own custom hip hop celebration!
This block party style experience will feature:
• The OMF Honors Mixer, curated by NBAF, celebrates pioneers in Black culture and music.
• Live music sets by celebrated DJs taking us through 5 decades of music!
• Silent disco pods of multiple parties going on throughout the space, choose your own adventure style!
• Audio visual exhibitions exploring icon moments, cultural trends and historical figures in hip hop.
• Themed social photo booths.
