Aramark, union reach contract deal in Wisconsin
LA CROSSE, Wis. —
In early August, United Electrical Radio & Machine Workers of America (UE) Local 1121 members voted to ratify a new contract with the Aramark Laundry Services facility here, the union reports.
UE says the three-year contract features 40-cent wage increases annually, paid sick days and a stronger safety committee.
“We are pleased to have bargained in good faith with the union to come to a contract agreement that works for all parties,” Aramark says in a statement from corporate communications officer Chris Collom in Philadelphia.
According to UE, the vote came at the end of more than three months of efforts by the laundry workers. The previous three-year contract between Aramark and UE expired earlier in the year.
UE says efforts culminated with the local’s first-ever job action, shutting down production as workers walked out and marched around the plant for 45 minutes at the end of July.
After the walkout, UE says Aramark dropped a demand for a third wage tier. Company negotiators agreed to the union’s final wage demand of a $1.20 increase over three years, and reached a compromise on health insurance. ALN
Getting ready for Gen Z
BY STEVE KALLENBACH
LOS ANGELES — For a number of years now, our industry has been talking about moving our marketing, sales and customer experience strategies toward the communication modes of Generation Y buyers, now referred to as millennials.
As with other industries, we are working our magic to be able to reach this new buying power via social media, using emotional and social branding to bring purpose-driven customer experiences to the new base of purchasing power in America.
Gen Y millennials were born between 1982 and 2004, the oldest of whom are now 35 years old and are currently assuming the seat of power in American purchasing. Now that we are all riled up, trying to catch up to this new
and exciting buying experience, let’s shake it up a bit more.
Introducing Generation Z. This lively new bunch is just now entering college, getting ready to embrace the workplace in a few years (the youngest of whom are still in middle school). They have already lived through the “Great Recession,” and some have watched their parents and family friends struggle financially. They have seen college costs spiral up and witnessed acts of terrorism through the media.
They expect the worst, because they have seen it. In some ways, they have actually had to grow up faster than previous generations, especially with the speed of information across many new communication channels. This generation has already been taught resilience, and their view of themselves, and the world, is
pretty sober.
As a result, this new and upcoming generation of buyers will require a different kind of engagement. They are cost-con-

SHANGHAI, China — The International Trade Fair for Modern Textile Care is coming to the Shanghai New International Expo Centre this month.
Better known as Texcare Asia, it will be headlining at the center for three days, Sept. 27-29.
“Over 95% of exhibition space at Texcare Asia is booked to key international and domestic players,” says one of the two show organizers, Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co. Ltd.
According to Messe Frankfurt,
“Wave” is the right description for the Shanghai event since the city name itself means “upon the sea.” It is a large, cosmopolitan coastal metropolis of 25 million.
During the 2015 edition of the trade show, 153 exhibitors filled almost 183,000 square feet in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Attendance reached a record 10,267 from 54 countries. Organizers say the 2015 show experienced a 20% increase from the 2013 edition, and expect further growth this year.
Attendance this year is expected
Local companies from China will be represented, plus businesses from 20 other countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Italy, Japan and more.
By showcasing their product advancements to major Asian buyers later this month, many of these global companies are wanting to capitalize on the fair’s position as Asia’s leading event for innovations in textile care.
Richard Li, general manager of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai), says the textile care and cleaning industry in Asia, and particularly

TCATA boasts another worthwhile conference
Attendees heard from speakers, rubbed shoulders with Olympians
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.
— “Another outstanding conference” was the clear consensus of those who attended the Textile Care Allied Trades Association (TCATA) Annual Management and Educational Conference here in July, the association reports.
Speaker Jade West of the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors provided an update on myriad legislative and regulatory issues in Washington, D.C, including discussion of the “colorful” political climate. She spent a significant amount of time answering many questions from attendees.
Krista Clive-Smith gave members ideas on how they can brand their companies to differentiate themselves from competitors.
Finally, featured speaker Steve McClatchy offered many valuable insights into ways to utilize time more efficiently. McClatchy discussed many specific, simple technology tools that lead to greater productivity.
Attendees also gathered at the country’s main Olympic Training Center, where they mingled with several Olympians currently training there, toured the facility and witnessed a judo demonstration up-close by four Olympic athletes. The evening ended with the lighting of the Olympic torch and cauldron, which was relayed by past TCATA presidents who were in attendance, then lit by president Gerald Henke.
Spouses and guests participated in a fun, interactive jewelry-making program led by Taryn Sweeney of White Rabbit Beads.
Intertwined into the closing dinner was a murder mystery. Clues were given throughout the evening to help attendees to solve the murder.
NEW OFFICERS
During the conference, two officers were elected. Henke announced Leslie Schaeffer as president-elect and John Silverman as treasurer-elect. Both will assume their two-year terms at the end of the 2018 annual conference.
Schaeffer is vice president of BPS Communications, which publishes National Clothesline. John Silverman is president and owner of Tschopp Supply, a distributor based in Buffalo, N.Y.
MILESTONES
Five member companies celebrating milestone anniversaries were recognized at the annual conference, TCATA says.
Henke presented anniversary awards to Bill Brooks, representing Alliance Laundry Systems, celebrating 25 years, and Kevin Gavlak, representing Faultless Laundry Products, celebrating 50 years.
Other companies acknowledged for their TCATA anniversaries were Columbia Drycleaning Machines, Loomis Brothers Equipment Co. and United Wire Hanger/UWH Industries.
GOLF TOURNAMENT
The TCATA annual golf tournament was held at the Colorado Springs Country Club. The event was well-attended, with 43 golfers.
The first- and second-place teams, along with those who won in the categories of longest drive and closest to the pin, were presented with “Olympic medals” by the four Olympians who performed the judo demonstration at the dinner party held at the Olympic Training Center.
The golfers raised $600 toward TCATA’s scholarship fund. ALN

The next generation(s)
You probably already noticed the article on the cover about Generation Z.
That’s right, we’re talking about the generation after the millennials.
Life and business doesn’t stay still for even a moment. And while it’s very unpredictable, we can look at the data and make some informed speculations.
That’s why Steve Kallenbach of ADI American Dawn wrote the piece—so that the industry can be ready (as ready as possible in this uncertain world) for the next generation of customers.
Speaking of changes, have you taken a good look at your marketing efforts lately?
When people change, so does what laundry and linen businesses

need to do in order to attract new customers.
Turn to page 26 to learn 10 secrets (and a bonus secret) from Jeff Wile, owner of Infinite Laundry, a laundry and linen ser-
vices marketing company, in order to effectively reach the next generation of customers online.
That’s millennials, not Generation Z. I know. It can get confusing. Some days, it’s a challenge just to keep those young punks off the lawn.
You know what isn’t confusing? Distributors. You need them, and we have them. Our annual Distributors Directory starts on page 12.
We’ve worked hard to put together the most up-to-date listing of distributors possible so you can get the equipment and products you need for your business.
There’s plenty more in this issue, so take a look—and keep things clean. ALN
Build-to-suit healthcare laundry completed

TYLER, Texas — Work was recently completed on a 20,000-square-foot healthcare laundry build-to-suit for CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances here, according to design/ build firm ARCO/Murray.
Construction included 1,100 square feet of new office space and a 1,000-square-foot mechanical room. Building upgrades included LED lighting, ventilation and spot cooling.

Increased productivity through smarter linen purchases
Last month, I wrote about several things managers can do to improve productivity in the face of rising wages (Increased automation in the future). This month, I want to talk about how smarter linen purchases can increase productivity in the laundry and with healthcare staff.
My first rule is that each item should be readily recognizable. As a consultant, I have visited numerous laundries where the patient gown inventory looks like a mix of everything on the market. Perhaps in the interest of taking advantage of special sales, the person in charge of purchasing has varied the print and the styles.
This unfortunately creates a nightmare for the laundry staff and the healthcare staff. They struggle to quickly determine which patient gown is a tie gown and which one is an IV gown. They also struggle to identify the size of the gown. Is it a large gown, 3X gown or a 10X gown? Time wasted determining the size and style hurts productivity, both in the laundry and in the hospital.
When I took over a laundry in Milwaukee, I inherited a linen supply in which the patient robes, pajama pants and extra-large patient gowns were all made from the same material and had the same print. Numerous nurse managers complained about how hard it was to get the right product off the linen carts. What had started out as a nice idea to coordinate patient apparel turned into a nightmare.
While it is difficult to determine how much time is lost in sorting out patient gowns in this type of situation, staff satisfaction and customer satisfaction are easily surveyed. I noticed an increase in satisfaction in both areas as this problem was corrected and the gowns became easily recognizable.
Healthcare laundries are notorious for their large number of stock keeping units. Laundry managers often confuse success with the number of items they service. The simple fact is that as the number of items in the system increases, the productivity of the laundry and delivery staff decreases. Senior administration is often unaware of this issue and wonders why the laundry is not as productive as it used to be when numerous additional items are added to the linen system.
High-productivity equipment is designed to process a large number of a single item at a time. Towel folders work best if a single-size towel is run through the machine for an hour or two at a time. Constantly switching between products cuts down on operator and machine efficiency. How a laundry sorts its soiled linen will affect the productivity on the clean side of the laundry.
Care should be taken to purchase linen items that are easily identifiable as to purpose and size. The more obvious the size markings on a surgical scrub, the better. It makes sizing and stocking that much easier.
WEBSITES
My second rule of linen purchasing is to be consistent. It is easy to say that an item like pillowcases could be purchased strictly on specifications and price. I have personally found that there is a significant difference between products as to how they are cut and made. Some pillowcases end up longer than others but not as wide. If width is the most important factor, then getting the long pillowcase does not help.
I will continue this discussion about linens next month, when I will talk about size, blend and weight of the products.

for what they want—they were born into the information age—and certainly know how to “Google it.”
This generation knows technology, and they are skilled and savvy in it. There was no conversion from previous modes of research. Modern communication technology is all they have ever known.
It appears that while Gen Z buyers look at true “cost” (not just price), studies by The Journal of Brand Strategy show that they search for whether the product they are evaluating helps them to reach their specific goal. They look at purchases as investments, and they do their research.
Gen Z’ers are practical—62% of new college entrants say they are going to learn special skills and not just to chase a passion. Surprisingly, and contrary to many millennials, this new group wants to work to make money and not just find a good place to join a culture.
Just think, we have a whole new group of folks who literally grew up getting what they want, when they want it, with things that most of us still marvel at, like Netflix and Amazon.
But don’t be mistaken; this new generation is not just chasing the dollar. They have purpose. They want to make the world a better place, and in doing so, they are clearly setting out to develop the needed skills. Their “can-do” attitudes are a result of the resilience they built up surviving the crazy world they were born into.
A recent study of this buying group by The Journal of Brand Strategy suggests that they don’t trust brands. It’s not just the name that counts anymore. It’s the content they see, and the actions and activities of their favorite companies, that drive them to buy.
They search for information via social media—YouTube, to be exact. It’s their favorite “channel.” Social media branding is evolving to what is now referred
to as “e-lationships” (a relationship with someone you do not really know, but who feels as real as a person you see every day).
At its simplest, it is testimonial advertisements via social media video. This group wants to buy through “real” people, not supermodels or perfect actors. These kids are truly unbiased in race, gender, religion and orientation and want the world around them to reflect this neutral belief system.
While millennials learned the elements of social media as it developed, there were hard lessons along the way. Postings last forever and propagate if they are interesting. Gen Z is much more cautious as a result of these lessons and considers privacy a core value. Gen Z won’t just sign up. They expect real value in return—in the information you give them. That’s the social contract we are heading toward.
What does this mean for our industry? Just as we are all clambering to catch up to the millennials, we really need to think about content. We need to be real. According to a study in the Harvard Business Journal, Gen Z won’t just take our word for it. Moreover, their expectations are truly the good and ethical values for all of us to live up to.
Our industry doesn’t really have true textile “selling standards.” Get ready; you’ll see definitions and specifications develop that can be questioned and compared. Suppliers and laundries will develop more specific languages when “talking the talk,” and we’ll all need to really back up what we say with true technical information. What exactly does a 17-pound bath towel, with ring-spun cotton blended with poly, really mean?
You probably won’t be surprised to know that a large majority of today’s sales representatives cannot articulate textile specifications properly. They’ve never been trained to do this, and that’s on us. The future will no longer allow us to just say and claim something. Gen Z will make us compare it and prove it.
Personally, I welcome this change. Just as we develop our social media platforms and start to improve our impact on millennials, we must be mindful of real content
that is specific and proven. And we should be looking at positioning our content via social media video (YouTube, etc.), using real people who can talk the talk.
“The Future is Now.” No, I’m not referring to the 2002 hip-hop album by Non Phixion, or the electronic game released via Kickstarter in 2016. Not the YouTube channel that highlights cool new things, or the book by the famous Tibetan Buddhist. We, as an industry, need to truly embrace our future and do it now.
Establish selling standards that can be articulated to our customers and backed up with content that counts. Train our reps to understand that facts matter. Towels are fluffy; selling should be rock-solid. And as we develop our media platforms, we should develop communication with real, significant messaging.
What we offer matters, and here’s why. Our industry provides needed product that touches almost every single American, every single day. That matters.
What is important for all of us is that the general public doesn’t know about us, that we deliver hygienically clean textiles that
are sometimes made from recycled materials and are reusable to the point that we positively impact the environment versus the use of disposable products, regardless of whether that product was or will be recycled. That matters.
Gen Z is about to make things real. While they will rely even more heavily on social media and online research, they will want to touch and feel our products and truly understand them from a technical aspect. They’ll want to meet us personally, understand our products and services, and actually trust our facts. Life-cycle costing will become an everyday term in our industry. Sustainability proof will be expected as an entry point.
Our industry is filled with wonderful people who do great work. While we know this, Gen Z has yet to discover it.
Get ready for Gen Z’ers. They will count. And we’ll need to matter. ALN

Mobile UV bacteria-killer developed for laundry delivery
Energenics Corp. has developed a mobile ultraviolet (UV) bacteriakilling system for the laundry industry, the company reports. UV-MAX was primarily developed to replace the process of cleaning truck trailers at the end of shifts.
Energenics says the UV application allows for consistent disinfection and complete coverage. Employees have less chance for accidental chemical exposure and no longer need to lift heavy spray bottles.
The UV-MAX mobile disinfection unit uses specifically banded UVc light to both kill and inhibit reproduction of hundreds of micro-
organisms, according to Energenics. Safety features include on-delay, audible warnings and heat/motion sensing. Touch-screen controls offer time programmability for different-length trailers. Active lamp monitoring alerts the user to aging lamps without the need to visually check.
The company says the technology is widely accepted today inside hospitals around the world, with studies proving the reduction in hospital-acquired infections (HAI).

Consolidated Laundry Machinery released its two improved mat roller models earlier this year, the company reports.
The MTR-1.1 and MTR-2.1 models come standard with the original automatic mat roller features of prior models, according to CLM. These include PLC and VFD controls, return-to-feed option and a seamless main feed belt known to increase output and safety of mat processing (machines stops when a human hand or object nears the safety guard).
The two new models offer two new features, as well as a customization option, the company says. The models have the capability of rolling mats with the backing up or down. This design prevents mats from being damaged while doing the job twice as fast.
The option of switching from automatic mode to manual footpedal control is also a new feature, giving the operator more control while reducing long- and shortterm injuries.
CLM says its mat rollers can be customized with direct-to-cart or return-to-feed discharge.

in China, is undergoing major development and transformation.
“While the demands on laundry service in Asia are increasing rapidly, there’s also an emerging need for more personalized and diversified service,” he says. “In recent years, a number of industry players have made significant progress on automation and innovations to cater to these needs, under the backdrop of increased operational expenditure and raised environmental awareness.
“At the same time, the global industry is catering to these growing needs, by exploring the ways in which their advanced technologies can be adopted by the Asian market.”
Numerous dedicated areas will highlight the growth potential of these Asian markets.
Demonstrating the spirit of internationalism of exhibitors at this year’s fair, both Kannegiesser and Miele will be part of the German Area during Texcare Asia. This dedicated section gathers 10 leading players from Germany to demonstrate their role in serving the Asian market, and includes BÖWE, Hohenstein and SEITZ, and more.
Similarly, a dedicated Japanese Area will bring together a group of key Japanese brands, including ASAHI, San-Ai, TOTO, Y.A.C. and Yamamoto. Sankosha, also exhibiting in the Japan Area, is a laundry and drycleaning technology manufacturer that is set to launch more than 10 new types of shirt-pressing equipment during the show, organizers point out.
Sankosha says each of these technologies have been tailored to serve the Chinese market by offering specific shapes and angles in accordance with the country’s buying habits.
In the buildup to this year’s fair, the company has called for an increased focus on more automated and energy-saving shirtwashing technologies for the Chinese textile care sector, it relates.
Additionally, a separate RFID Zone (radio frequency identification) at the show will feature various field experts, including Autovalet, Bundle, Datamars, Etexsys, Finove, Thermopatch and Zucchetti.
The track-and-trace capabilities of RFID technology significantly increase the visibility, accuracy and efficiency at washing workshops, by automatically tracking the status of each garment and preventing items from being lost, show organizers indicate.
In this zone, for instance, technology company Datamars will demonstrate to visitors how the company’s own RFID solutions can help laundry shops save on operational costs and gain efficiency throughout the entire cycle.
“Laundering technology company Kannegiesser, who is a global player in the heavyduty laundry machinery market, will be showcasing various smart and automated laundry advancements, in a bid to match the growing desire for more technological adoption and improved efficiency in the region,” show organizers say.
Milena Vogt, assistant to director of project engineering for Kannegiesser, says the company appreciates the transformation of the region toward high operational efficiency and energy savings.
“Utilization of automated process technologies and hygiene aspects are of great importance to the professional laundry companies in Asia,” she says. “We appreciate the growing interests in automated laundry solutions in recent years.
“Texcare Asia is one of the most important laundry exhibitions in China, as well as for the entire Asian-Pacific region. As the

demand increases in the Asian market, we always participate in the fair to showcase our innovation, and of course, to get in touch with existing customers and to reach out to more business potentials.”
What’s more, fellow German exhibitor Miele, a commercial laundry technology developer, is also hoping to explore the potential of the Asian market at the show. The company has the capabilities to offer operational efficiency and reduced costs, which is another important factor for the domestic market, show management points out.
“Moving to its ninth edition, the fair will continue to be a one-stop sourcing and networking platform for the Asian community,” says Li.
In addition to the trade show, organizers will host Texcare Forum Asia at the same time. This educational experience allows attendees to hear from experts and market leaders from research institutes on a variety of topics of interest.
Texcare Asia is a biennial event and also a sister event of Texcare International, which is held every four years in Germany. ALN

Laundry facilities achieve Hygienically Clean certification
were already certified in 16 states and the Canadian province of British Columbia.
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Several textile rental service operations achieved Hygienically Clean certification in July and early August, according to TRSA, the association for the linen, uniform and facility services industry.
The Hospital Cooperative Laundry of Denver; Ames Linen Service, Cortland, N.Y; Up To Date Laundry, Baltimore; Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply of Jessup, Pa.; and seven UniFirst Corp. facilities earned either Healthcare or Food Service/Safety certification.
HEALTHCARE
Hospital Cooperative Laundry (HCL) of Denver, Ames Linen Service and Up To Date Laundry each achieved Hygienically Clean Healthcare certification for the second time, according to TRSA.
HCL is owned by the hospitals it serves, producing more than 50 million pounds of laundry for 36 hospitals and more than 300 clinics. The operation began in Denver in 1991. Ten years later, a second facility opened in Pueblo, Colo.
Today, the Denver laundry serves members and customers in Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming while the Pueblo laundry covers Southern Colorado.
Ames received the certification initially in 2014, one of the first dozen laundries across North America to earn the designation.
Up To Date Laundry was also first certified in 2014.
FOOD SERVICE/SAFETY
Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply has added Hygienically Clean Food Service certification to its credentials. The laundry previously earned the Hygienically Clean Healthcare and Hygienically Clean Food Safety designations.
Dempsey Uniform & Linen is the third facility in the Hygienically Clean program’s history (dates to 2012) to earn all three certifications. The others, Crown Linen Service, Brockton, Mass., and Miller’s Textile Services, Wapakoneta, Ohio, completed the trifecta in November and March, respectively.
Finally, with seven more laundries certified, UniFirst Corp. has widened its lead among multilocation uniform service companies in achieving the Hygienically Clean Food Safety designation, as 30 facilities now have reached this milestone, TRSA says.
The July additions included the company’s first such achievements in Nevada, New York and Wisconsin after UniFirst plants
UniFirst facilities certified in July were Ontario, Calif.; Las Vegas; Buffalo, N.Y.; Amarillo, Austin and Houston, Texas; and Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. States with previously Hygienically Clean Food Safety-certified UniFirst laundries (one each except where noted)
are California (two), Colorado, Connecticut, Florida (two), Georgia, Massachusetts, Maryland, North Carolina (four), New Hampshire (two), New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas (five), Utah and Virginia.
“More and more, we’re seeing our customers in food-related industries looking for third-party validation that our specialized
product protection process and our hygienically clean standards are consistent with HACCP and GFSI guidelines,” says Adam Soreff, director of marketing and communications at UniFirst, based near Boston. “Working with a Hygienically Clean Food Safetycertified laundry helps reassure them that their managed uniform program is working in concert with
their own food safety protocols to help them ensure food safety for consumers.”
TRSA says that Hygienically Clean certification reflects a laundry’s commitment to best management practices (BMPs) in laundering as verified by on-site inspection and their capability to produce hygienically clean textiles as quantified by ongoing microbial testing. ALN

HAS YOUR SOLUTION From This... To This No more ice blasting and no more drilling holes DECC’s coating greatly reduces plastic buildup in your dryer. When plastic does stick - usually because it melts through the panel perforations and sticks to itself - cleaning takes minutes instead of hours...all you need is a plastic scraper. With the application of DECC’s internally reinforced, abrasion resistant release coating to your dryer panels, results are immediate.

A dryer with clogged panels can experience a 3035% increase in drying times...or more. Coated panels allow for greater efficiency and air flow as it takes far longer for plastic and debris to build inside the dryer. As a result, production capacity is maintained and energy costs are reduced
As a result of dramatically reduced down-time and labor, combined with increased production capacity and lowered energy costs, your investment in coated panels could be returned in only a few months

Secrets
BY MATT POE, EDITOR
LAS VEGAS — Laundry and linen service operators may think that online and social media marketing isn’t all that important for
their businesses.
That isn’t true, says Jeff Wile, owner of Infinite Laundry, a laundry and linen services marketing company in Coral Springs, Fla.
“Almost half of business-tobusiness (B2B) contacts are now millennials, and everyone knows where millennials are: They’re looking at their phones,” he says. “They aren’t using mobile devices like older folks.”
Wile says the millennials are researching on their mobile devices while at work—looking at what’s available, pricing, what
companies have to offer and, ultimately, contacting them. He says these B2B buyers are influencing purchasing decisions for laundry and linen customers.
Wile revealed the following 10 marketing secrets at the Clean Show during the education session titled Laundry Marketing Secrets Revealed
SECRET NO. 1
When it comes to marketing online for B2B, Wile says there are two different types: inbound and outbound marketing.
“The most effective form of advertising today, and we have a lot of data to prove it, is inbound marketing,” he says. “When people are looking for service, they find you. In a business like ours that’s contract-based, that’s when you really need to be speaking with them—when they’re about to make a decision, when they’re looking for companies, when they’re upset with their vendor, looking for pricing.”
When a company contacts a laundry for information, Wile says the chances of closing the deal are somewhere between 15 and 40%.
“Whether you’re an industrial company, a linen rental company or COG laundry services, to be able to close that kind of percentage of those contacts, those contacts are very, very valuable,” he says.
SECRET NO. 2
Both Google and Microsoft have search advertising campaign options, according to Wile. When a potential customer is looking at a search engine results pages, it’s generally broken down into three sections: paid ads, organic listings and local listings.
“All the major advertising platforms online are very sophisticated,” he says. “They run on algorithms and rely on companies or agencies to manage. Google wants to give you the best possible result so you always use Google.”
These online advertising campaigns are pay-per-click, but many online advertisers make a big mistake, Wile says. The mistake? Not setting up keywords that will trigger the ad.
“Google is happy to take your money,” he says. “When you set up your account, you have the opportunity to select your keywords. Who do you want to target? You have the option to set up when this keyword could possibly trigger your ad.”
Wile says that for each of the keywords, an advertiser sets a “bid.” The bid is the maximum amount they are willing to pay

for a click.
He goes on to say that there are four main match types. The first is broad. Broad is when an advertiser enters a keyword to Google to start advertising under without quotes or brackets.
“It’s telling Google, I want to run in this general area, I want to run in restaurant linen rental,” says Wile. “However, because it’s broad, you might trigger an ad for party rental and chair covers.”
The second match type is exact matches. Wile says this means the term has to be exactly entered into the search engine by the customer. It has to be “industrial laundry service”—nothing before, nothing after and nothing in-between.
Third is phrase, which Wile says is his favorite because it gives advertisers latitude for different words to trigger the ad.
“But it’s also fairly controlled,” he says. “[The search] has to have the phrase, but you can have words before and after and inbetween.”
The final main match is modified broad. Wile says this match type is a way to control broad triggers, but it’s not used as much as the others.
album, or even lyrics. Because the search terms entered included the words “laundry service,” many ads for laundry and linen services were triggered. However, these weren’t potential customers, obviously.
Those were negative match types, and advertisers don’t want to pay for those, Wile says.
“Without negatives, your ROI for running a campaign will go from really good to really poor,” he says. “Add a list of negative keywords to not pay for. ROI as you continue to optimize your ad account will continually increase.”
SECRET NO. 4
In all of these advertising campaigns, laundry and linen companies are also able to target geographic areas, Wile says.
“This is really useful in this type of business, because you’re really only able to go where your trucks are,” he says. “You can go a certain number of miles from your plant. You’re able to target only people in that area, and you’re able to exclude everyone else.”
bdsparts.com
“Before, when you used to run ads, they would generally run under three categories: linen supply service, linen rental service and commercial laundry,” he says. “Today, people have the ability to enter exactly what they think about. The great thing about this life is we all think differently. The bad thing for marketers is trying to weed out queries that are not relevant, we don’t want to pay for them, and to target as many possible relevant queries.”
Wile says the great thing about Google and Microsoft is that an advertiser can run a report at any time to show exactly what search terms were paid for—exactly what triggered the ads.
SECRET NO. 3
Wile then brought up something many advertisers don’t consider in online advertising: negative match types. Basically, these are search terms that trigger an ad but aren’t from potential customers.
As an example, Wile brought up the recording artist Shakira. She released an album called Laundry Service, and many people went online searching for the album or a song off the

SECRET NO. 5
After putting the previous four secrets to work, getting people a company wants as a customer to the website, Secret No. 5 comes into play: a website that works.
“If you get them to your site, and it doesn’t load, loads slowly, not optimized for mobile, the navigation isn’t easy to under-
stand—we see this all day long in this industry—they’re not going to contact you,” Wile says. “You might as well have not gone through the advertising process to begin with. What good is it to spend money to get somebody interested in your product and then they don’t contact you?”
He says laundry and linen companies have to optimize their sites for mobile, engagement, calls and forms that are easy.
“Give them what they want, and don’t make them think,” Wile says. “Make it a ‘brainless’ process. Many customers are
smart, but how busy is everybody? If you don’t keep it simple, they’re going to get distracted or they’re not going to wait, and they’re gone. Maybe that visit was worth $2,000 a week over the next five years and you renew them twice. Big money. You don’t want them walking because your site’s not loading properly or your phone number’s not easy to find.”
Design is subjective, he says, but there are certain things everyone can agree on, like being able to see a phone number easily. Wile also says that his company
has conducted tests and found that shorter forms result in more submissions.
“The less that you ask for, the more that you get,” he says. “Nice and simple, a couple radio buttons, like existing customer, one or two variables—what’s necessary.”
SECRET NO. 6
Everybody has heard of search engines, Wile says, and everybody knows the primary social media. However, a lot of people don’t know that there are many websites that are what the old
It’s not just print anymore.
phone books used to be: directory listings.
“There are about 60 major publishers,” Wile says. “It’s not just for people who are going to these sites, but all of these sites get indexed with Google, with Bing, all the search engines.”
He says it’s important for laundry and linen services to be listed on these sites (e.g., www.yellow pages.com, www.whitepages.com, www.superpages.com) for local presence and brand image.
Of utmost importance, Wile says, is for the information to be accurate.
“You want to tell these websites what you want them to show, otherwise they just scrape the Internet and publish whatever they can find,” he says. “Having all of this pushed live with upto-date, fresh content, with what you want it to display, is really important.”
Wile says there is another impact from directory sites: search engine optimization (SEO). He says that all of these websites have links back to a company’s site. Links back to the site is a component of SEO and increases the actual ranking of a company’s website on a search engine.
SECRET NO. 7
After a company has the first six secrets up and running, Wile says the seventh is a bit “nextlevel.” He says Google, Facebook, LinkedIn and other sites have the ability to put a piece of code on a company’s website which, when a potential customer goes there, sends information back to the publisher.
“Then, you’re able to use that visit in future targeting or in future bid adjustment,” he says. “It’s very powerful. The ROI is very high. It should be running on all your sites, even if you’re not doing anything with it today, because if you decide to do it in four months, you already have the list. You can target down to many different levels. The more information you provide these systems, the greater your ROI.”
SECRET NO. 8
Content is really important, Wile says. It’s important to “think outside the box” when it comes to marketing efforts.
“Depending on the size of your company, you’re going to have in-house folks or an outside agency to help you with this,” he says. “Photos, text, new pages, blogs, they increase the scope of your marketing success.”
SECRET NO. 9
When it comes to social networks, Wile says, “Don’t just tell your friends.”
The real power for B2B on social sites comes within the advanced opportunities those

BY MATT POE, EDITOR CHICAGO — Parkland Health & Hospital System, also known as the Dallas County Hospital District, uses an on-premises laundry (OPL). Richard Hoelscher, linen services production manager for Parkland, says the laundry has had emergencies over the years. Fortunately, these incidents have been minor. “Parkland has had several small fires, but these only involved one piece of equipment each time, were promptly put out by staff with a hand fire extinguisher and verified out by the fire department,” Hoelscher says. “Parkland’s staff performed extremely well during the Code Red, following the RACE (Rescue, Alert Security, Confine, Extinguish) procedure.” The reason Parkland has performed so well during emergencies is that it has detailed emergency procedures in place, Hoelscher says. Also, staff undergo training to help ensure all know what to do in the event of a risky situation. It is essential for laundry operations of all types and sizes to have emergency procedures and training in place for safety, and to ensure the business is able to keep processing linen. For Laura Gracia, safety director for Admiral by Alsco in Houston, emergency procedures are essential to minimize, not prevent, injuries and damage to property, ensuring continuance of business. “Each of our plants was assigned to develop plan accordUGUST 2017 Late News he Newspaper of Record for Laundry Linen Management www.americanlaundrynews.com Volume 43, Number 8 INSIDE 6 28 See EMERGENCY on Page 24 4] Columnist at Large Eric Frederick examines the future of automation and employee wages. LaunchCapital is the venture capital arm of the Vlock family office. The round of financing will go to support product development and the company’s nationwide expansion, according to Magnus. “The raise allows us to accelerate our product development efforts and to grow the team to reach more customers across the U.S.,” says Dev Ramasubbu, CEO and co-founder of Magnus Textile. “And with the capital investment and support of the Pritzker/Vlock family office, we are further enabled to redefine what is possible in commercial textiles.” Edward Coady, an investment professional with LaunchCapital, will be joining Magnus Textile as chief marketing officer. Coady was previously an associate with the firm and LaunchCapital office. “We firmly believe that Magnus Textile is poised to transform the commercial textile industry,” says Cliff Sirlin, managing director of LaunchCapital. ALN DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. — ARCO/Murray, a design/build general contractor, recently completed laundry expansions for two uniform, linen and facility service companies, the company reports. In Wichita Falls, Texas, ARCO/ Murray provided services to Alsco, completing 10,500-square-foot laundry facility expansion. The construction took place in a fully operational facility and was carefully phased with dock and workflow transitions to eliminate production interruptions and allow for daily truck deliveries, according to the company. The project also included construction of 4,760-square-foot mezzanine, new loading docks, and a 50,000-square-foot parking lot with truck court addition. Along with upgraded LED lighting and improved building ventilation, the project scope included the expansion of existing electrical services, ARCO/Murray says. Preconstruction services included architectural design, structural engineering, mechanical and electrical design, and permitting. ARCO/Murray says Justin Hearld was project manager and Mike Epperly served as project superintendent. In Ottawa, Ontario, the company completed a 9,000-square-foot facility expansion for Canadian Linen and Uniform Service. sites provide in their advertising platforms.
“For example, LinkedIn has ‘geotargeting,’ the ability to target industries and executive-level people, company size—a relevant audience to show ads to,” he says. “Facebook has resources to target companies, industries, people that like certain things on Facebook, as well as geography.”
Wile recommends continuing to grow the scope of social pages through “likes” and “friends,” but the real success for laundry and linen companies is having the control inside the advertising platforms.
“Before, you’d have a page, post content and people would see your content,” he says. “Great, I can just advertise for free on Facebook, this is great! Not anymore. They have hundreds of thousands of people waiting in line to pay for this.”
SECRET NO. 10
One of Wile’s favorite quotes is: “It’s better to be ridiculous than to be boring.”
In the laundry industry, to come up with fresh content, companies have to get creative, he says.
“Yes, it’s more laundry talk, but don’t be the same old song. Don’t be, ‘Hey! Check out our stuff! We’ve got air fresheners now!’ Who cares? There’s no limit to the creativity you can do. If you have a really good designer, it makes it that much better.”
BONUS SECRET
It’s no secret that automation is growing in the laundry and linen industry, but Wile says many might not know that online and social marketing can be automated as well.
“There are some really great tools that are a fraction of the cost that will save you labor through automation,” he says. “These tools can make the apps you use every day talk to another. If this happens, then that happens. A programmer isn’t needed. Information is entered into Sheets, QuickBooks, e-mail marketing campaigns. They sync with Dropbox, Google.”
The world of marketing, sales and IT are no longer separate departments, says Wile. These departments have to work together in a laundry and linen company.
“The sales team needs the support from marketing. They need quality leads; they need activity.
Marketing has to generate that for them,” he says. “The sales team has to support marketing by entering all the information into the databases, the CRMs for e-mail campaigns and future follow-ups. And IT needs to be able to put it all together so marketing folks are able to turn it into actual data, and the circle continues.”
New Hampshire seeks to test Stirling engine in state laundry
CONCORD, N.H. — The State of New Hampshire plans to test a new power source in its state hospital laundry facility here, according to a letter from the State.
The State has put out a request for proposal (RFP) to install and test a Stirling engine in the New Hampshire Hospital Laundry.
A Stirling engine, named after Robert Stirling, who invented it in 1816, uses an outside heat source for power, unlike regular combustion engines, which use internal heat sources like a spark plug igniting gasoline.
In addition, all fluids and gases are contained within the engine. This, in theory, makes the Stirling engine more efficient, while creating less pollution. Thus far, however, engineering issues have prevented the engine from working on a useful scale.
The state says the hospital laundry is a 15,000-square-foot facility that was built in 1937. It provides patient linens for the 158bed hospital.
Laundry operations occur daily from approximately 6 a.m. until 3 p.m. The facility
processes 35,000 pounds of patient care linen in a month.
The State says the intent of this RFP is for a demonstration project of a Stirling engine to provide heat and/or electricity for the laundry.
The RFP specifies that the winning bidder must install a Stirling engine “at no cost to the state,” must maintain and repair the machine for free, and must remove it anytime if the government decides the project isn’t working, also at no cost to taxpayers. ALN

Many distributors have services to offer beyond equipment
improved productivity.
Most any distributor can sell equipment that they think you need, but experienced distributors can provide this useful service, which can ultimately improve the operational efficiency of the laundry.
BY MARK MOORE
VERSAILLES, Ky. — Every industry has them. Sometimes they are referred to as quick-buck artists or trunk slammers.
The laundry equipment industry is no different. There are plenty of folks out there who would love to sell you a piece of equipment and walk away.
But let’s be honest, they exist because there are customers out there who want the cheapest price possible and couldn’t care less about the infrastructure around these organizations … until something breaks down. Then, the customer realizes the lack of a service department, parts department, etc., can be costly and not worth the low price they paid up front.
Ours should always be a relationship business. The distributor should be relied on for far more than moving steel in and out of the laundry room.
No doubt, each member of the REM Co. team is committed to ensuring each customer gets the pinnacle of service and knows the value our company provides beyond commercial laundry equipment. I think that’s the level that the best in this business should be held to.
So, what can distributors bring to the table for laundry and linen services?
IDENTIFYING THE NEED
At its root, quality distribution is not about selling large machines; it’s about asking questions and providing solutions. That starts upfront by enlisting your distributor to perform a laundry room needs analysis. Certainly, not all distributors are qualified to do this.
A needs analysis looks at the current state of laundry demands and what they may look like in the future. The goal is to come up with the best solution. The finished product can serve as the facility’s roadmap for equipment replacement, laying out several equipment options as well as the cost savings each scenario can bring, versus the current laundry setup.
A laundry needs analysis document truly is the product of experience and specific industry knowledge. Again, not all distributors possess these skills and the in-depth understanding of a variety of industries, ranging from hospitality and long-term care to commercial laundries and athletic facilities.
The real value of a laundry needs analysis is that the document helps laundry managers position an upgrade of the operation with owners/general managers of the facility. Because all the information and potential savings are included in the document, it justifies the expenditure, versus just asking for capital to buy new equipment. Management sees the savings and return on the investment in labor, utilities and
GETTING IT RIGHT
Once the operation has decided on a direction for equipment, a quality distributor can provide a wide range of services beyond just the washer-extractors and tumble dryers.
Financing can be a major boost to pushing a project forward. This is not something every equipment dealer can offer. For laundries that perhaps don’t have the means to accommodate a significant capital expense, financial services (or access to a manufacturer’s finance program) can help make a project happen.
There’s a difference between installing equipment and laundry planning. Lesser distributors will sell you equipment and, at best, maybe install it. However, the best in this business are focused on a well-thoughtout approach.
For new construction and laundry retools, some distributors offer a laundry layout and design service. Laundry design seeks to lay out the facility to ensure not only overall efficiency, but also safety and ergonomics. You can’t minimize the value this brings to the table. Again, laundry design is rooted in experience and knowing the needs and challenges of operations, having been in and designed hundreds of facilities.
Your distributor can assist with a layout and design that creates not only a logical flow of laundry, but also one that reduces the risk of cross-contamination from soiled linens passing too closely to clean items.
rely on your distributor for staff training. For a quality distributor, this is a given. But there are plenty of others out there that install the units and wish you the best of luck.
You should be able to lean on your distributor to properly set up the equipment and ensure the correct programs are installed to match the loads you will process. From there, they can work with staff, getting them comfortable with how to use the machines. Only this type of service can make certain that the operation maximizes productivity and delivers on the efficiency (cost savings) promise of the machinery.
SETTING A BASELINE
One of the most important areas managers can lean on their distributor for, more than just installing or servicing equipment, is in continued monitoring of the operation.
Experience tells us that’s high and worth digging further into the system data. There, we learned that there was extended downtime between cycles and efficiency was about 43%. By helping the operation tweak processes and retrain staff, efficiency rose to 74% and the processing cost per pound of laundry dropped to 21 cents.
As a distributor, we weren’t there to sell equipment, install equipment or fix equipment. This was about offering exemplary service, the type of service that only an experienced, well-staffed company can provide. There’s a value in that level of service. Just look at the savings number. The laundry was processing about 16,556 pounds of laundry a week. With those 6 cents per pound savings, that’s about $1,000 in savings a week.
Along with this, a quality distributor should be able to help pick out ancillary items, such as folding tables (accounting for them in the laundry design) and laundry carts. Don’t underestimate the value of this service. Talk to any laundry manager who is working with carts that don’t match up to the door openings on the laundry equipment they have, and they’ll explain how much of a hassle it is.
Quality service from a distributor will take things a step further to ensure your operation gets the right results. Let’s face it: The best, most efficient machines are only as smart as the operators. It’s important to
Take, for instance, a hotel laundry. The manager’s view of the laundry efficiency world may only be of that operation or perhaps one or two more. However, an experienced distributor’s view is based on hundreds (and perhaps thousands) of hotel installs it has done. It knows what an operation that is highly productive and efficient looks like, versus one that is battling process issues that are impacting overall efficiency. Laundry management systems have made it easier to get an in-depth look, but operations still need a baseline.
Recently, my company did just that. In reviewing the laundry management system data for a nursing home, we noticed that the laundry processing cost was roughly 27 cents per pound.
This is a relationship business. Anyone can sell and install equipment, but only a full-service company with a large staff, a fleet of service vehicles and extensive parts inventory can ever truly be a partner in your success. Only this type of distributor can be your local expert and a true partner in your success. Some things are worth paying a little more. And believe me, if a machine goes down, it’s nice to know you have a partner with the parts and team to get it up and running fast.
Choose wisely and always opt for a distributor with a wide range of services to help with more than just selling a washer. ALN

Clark named sales support engineer at Lavatec
BEACON FALLS, Conn. — Industry veteran Scott Clark has joined Lavatec Laundry Technology Inc. as sales support engineer, the company reports.
An acknowledged equipment systems and energy conservation specialist, Lavatec says he will work with management to support the operations and sales growth of the company, and report to Keith Ware, vice president of sales.
Clark recently ended a 40-year career at Victor Kramer Co., according to Lavatec. A former partner and VP of engineering services, he was serving as a senior consultant when he left the company. During his time there, Clark designed the renovation or new construction of more than 75 institutional laundry facilities and worked with many notable clients throughout the United States and the Middle East, Lavatec says.
“With Lavatec’s significant growth, we were looking for an experienced laundry design specialist,” says Ware. “Someone with Scott’s talents and experience are very rare. Having learned that he might be available, we jumped at the chance to bring Scott into the Lavatec family. Having worked with him in a previous position, I knew of his skills and abilities and believed they would be a tremendous asset to our team.”
Clark’s experience will aid in his responsibilities at Lavatec, the company says. He will support the sales team by developing layouts, drawings and mechanical requirements necessary for the implementation and installation of Lavatec products. His established network also will help in working with laundry consultants outside the United States and Canada.
“This was a very good opportunity that I could not pass up,” Clark says. “The project work, engineering and planning, coupled with the opportunity to create and assist in developing pricing, layouts, and production support, will be a good challenge for me. I’d like to help Lavatec grow while supporting the team and satisfy ownership that
they made the right decision to hire me.” Lavatec says Clark also is a skilled writer. In addition to preparing many of the reports, published articles and other documents produced at his last job, he has written extensively on energy alternatives, facilities programming, systems integration, automation, production control systems, linen conservation and financial controls.

and management experience, as well as nine years of experience in construction sales and management, according to the company. His professional history includes working with customers on large-scale projects, soliciting new business and negotiating new contracts, nurturing customer retention and exceeding sales expectations.
“I joined CG West because of the company’s great people and opportunities for growth and success,” says McAninch. “I enter every deal like it may be the only opportunity to make an impression on the most valuable client of my career.”
Norman joins Leonard Automatics’ service technician team
DENVER, N.C. — Isaac Norman has joined the service technician team at Leonard Automatics, the company reports. His duties will include installation and customer support for Leonard products.
Leonard says Norman spent eight years in the U.S. Navy, where his areas of responsibilities included electronic diagnostics and troubleshooting, gauge calibration, and electronic repair and maintenance. His recent role as a nuclear electronics control technician included the operation and maintenance of reactor protection instru-
ments and systems.
Norman’s Navy training will be a great asset for his role as a technician for Leonard Automatics, the company says.
Novak joins Continental as customer care associate
OSHKOSH, Wis. — Continental Girbau Inc. recently welcomed Eric Novak as customer care associate, the company reports.
In his new role, the company says Novak interfaces with Continental’s customer care department to process and maintain in-house orders and shipping dates, handle warranty administration and claims processing, and assist customers and distributors with product shipping and delivery information.
“Eric comes to Continental with impressive organizational, communication and customer service skills,” says Laurie Kilgore, customer care manager. “We look forward to great things from this young man and his contributions to Continental customer care as the company grows in its ‘Setting the Standard in Customer Service’ initiative.”
Novak, a recent graduate of Fox Valley Technical College, in Appleton, Wis., has two associate degrees in applied science— one in paralegal and the other in criminal
justice/law enforcement, Continental says. Most recently, he served as a paralegal intern for the Outagamie County District Attorney’s Office in Appleton. Since 2009, Novak has also served as shift manager for a pizza restaurant in Oshkosh.
“Joining Continental meant having an opportunity to become part of a family of talented professionals and overall great people,” says Novak. “I quickly realized that Continental was a place where I would feel at home—a company where I would be given a support system to be successful and build a long-term career. In my role as a customer care associate, I look forward to interacting with customers and peers in the laundry industry, while building positive new relationships.”
Wechsler joins Atlas International sales team
DALLAS — Atlas International Laundry & Dry Cleaning Equipment Co., a distributor of on-premises and vended laundry equipment in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, welcomed Arthur Wechsler as the new vended laundry equipment sales manager for Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, the company reports.
His duties will be working on expanding sales and Atlas brands in the territory.
Atlas says Wechsler has been in laundry sales for more than 25 years and has specialized in the vended laundry business for the past 15 years. He has been active in developing new vended laundries, as well as replacement equipment and is aggressively
getting involved with wetcleaning systems.
“I’m sure our customers have heard of him, worked with him, or are familiar with him and his work over the past 25 years,” says Ulli Mandelbaum, owner of Atlas International. “We are excited to have a person with his outstanding reputation join our sales team and help us provide that knowledge and experience in our expanding territory.”
Wechsler will be covering his territory from his office in Dallas.

Three companies earn Continental Distributor of the Year awards
OSHKOSH, Wis. — Continental Girbau Inc. recently recognized Darling’s Sales & Service Co., Fowler Equipment Co. and Laundry Systems of Tennessee with Distributor of the Year awards, the company reports.
Darling’s earned the 2016 On-premise Laundry Distributor of the Year award, an honor that distinguishes distributors for outstanding performance in the on-premises laundry market; Fowler Equipment Co. won the Distributor of the Year award for outstanding sales and support in both the on-premises and vended laundry markets; and Laundry Systems of Tennessee took home the Girbau Industrial Laundry Distributor of the Year award for unsurpassed performance in the industrial laundry market.
Darling’s, headquartered in Blaine, Minn., received its 12th On-premise Laundry Distributor of the Year Award since partnering with Continental in 1995. Family-owned for 50 years, the full-service distributorship works closely with customers to improve onpremises laundry productivity and efficiency through assistance with financial planning and selection of advanced laundry equipment to slash utilities and energy consumption, the company says.
“Darling’s Sales & Service is simply one of Continental’s highest-performing distributors,” says Joel Jorgensen, Continental vice president of sales. “They’ve once again earned this award as a result of their incredible on-premises laundry sales and support throughout 2016.”
Fowler, a full-service distributor, earned Continental’s highest honor as the Distributor of the Year for both on-premises and vended laundry sales. It also earned Continental’s Multi-Housing Distributor of the Year award.
“Fowler continues to develop, reinvest and grow,” says Jorgensen. “It’s a fantastic company with great leadership.”
Among the largest on-premises, vended and multi-housing laundry equipment distributors in the Mid-Atlantic region, Fowler, in Bloomfield, N.J., is a full-service company offering technical service and parts, as well as expert assistance with on-premises, vended and multi-housing laundry development, according to Continental.
Laundry Systems of Tennessee, in Sevierville, Tenn., is a full-service on-premises, industrial and vended laundry equipment distributor serving Tennessee and the Carolinas. The family-owned company provides a wide breadth of products, including tunnel systems, washers, dryers, feeders, ironers, folders, stackers and ozone systems, as well as a fully stocked parts warehouse and a staff of factory-trained technicians.
According to Continental, over the course of the last year, Laundry Systems of Tennessee has provided critical equipment and support for a number of large-scale and high-volume industrial laundries.
“President Jeff Large and his staff have gone above and beyond to help establish and ensure the success of these laundry operations,” Jorgensen says. “They’ve helped
launch the Girbau Industrial brand within the hospitality and party rental industries.”
Braun awarded another safety-related patent
SYRACUSE, N.Y. — G.A. Braun was recently awarded a U.S. Patent for its Industrial Washer Door Locking Mechanism and System that is used on its Advantage Tilting Side Loader® Washer/ Extractor, the company reports.
Braun says it was the first company to feature this technology, displaying it at the 2015 Clean Show in Atlanta. Only G.A. Braun-authorized purchasers are permitted to use this patented technology.
“We are very excited about this new product, and the award of this patent,” says Joe Gudenburr, president. “Our team has worked very hard to make certain that we addressed the desires of our clients, and in so doing provided them with a solution that is unmatched for safety, and reliability.”
The solution is a Class/Category 3 rated/ monitored safety solution, which ensures that end-users can’t operate the machine in an unsafe condition due to a failure to properly latch and secure the cylinder doors, according to the company.
Continental says the honor recognizes Lavatec’s superior business results while working in partnership with the company and its customers. Lavatec President Mark Thrasher accepted the award during Continental’s kick-off presentation for Clean ’17 in Las Vegas.
