Delivered at C-TEC’s state-of-the-art training centre in the North West of England, the courses include both theoretical and practical activities. Thoroughly covering BS 5839-1 Foundation, Design, Installation & Commissioning and Maintenance, the courses can culminate in a regulated qualification in BS 5839-1 through FireQual, the specialist awarding body for the fire protection sector in the UK.

Each course will be delivered by highly experienced and qualified trainers in line with the technical requirements of the awarding body. Successful delegates will be issued with CPD Certificates for each module and those who pass a final exam will be awarded a regulated qualification certificate from FireQual.

A one-day BS 5839-1 fire detection and alarm system maintenance course taught by an industry expert. Attendees will develop further the knowledge gained on the BS 5839-1 foundation course and/or their own industry experience of the maintenance of fire systems.
A five-day fast-track course comprising all aspects of BS 5839-1. Taught by an industry expert, this intensive week-long course covers Foundation, Design, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance to equip delegates with the knowledge and expertise they need to gain an industry-recognised qualification through FireQual. The exam itself will take place at the end of the week.
FireQual Exam with refresher course (half-day)
An examination and half-day refresher course for delegates who have successfully completed all of C-TEC’s BS 5839-1 courses. Successful completion of the exam will lead to an industry-recognised qualification through FireQual.

EVO BULKHEADS FROM OVIA

Unicrimp has added a range of Metal Cable Cleats to its growing Q-Fire portfolio of fire-rated cable accessory products.
The new Metal Cable Cleats meet BS 7671 (18th Edition) requirements and are designed to prevent cables from premature collapse during a fire and in doing so, to keep emergency services and the public safe.
The 18th Edition wiring regulations stipulate that cable support systems must be constructed with materials that will withstand premature collapse caused by direct exposure to heat. There are no applications excluded – trunking, conduit and cabling fixed to surfaces of the building or attached to cable support systems must all have fire-resistant supports in place.

NEW ELUCIAN PROTECTIVE DEVICES ADDED TO CONSUMER UNIT RANGE
New to the Elucian consumer unit range from Scolmore are Time Delay RCDs, higher rated RCBOs and a retro-fit locking device.
Time Delay RCDs – a new range of Type S 2 Pole 100mA Time Delay RCDs available in 63A, 80A and 100A options have now been added to the range. Time delay RCDs provide residual circuit protection against short circuits but also provide the correct level of co-ordination when two RCD devices are used in series on the same circuit.
RCBOs – the RCBO protective devices range has been expanded to offer new, two-module (36mm wide) Type A Double Pole True 6kA B Curve and C Curve 30mA Trip RCBOs which are available in higher ratings of 45A, 50A and 63A.
Locking device – a new retro-fit locking device has been added to the Elucian range, providing the means to secure the consumer unit against unwanted interference.
