With the introduction of the Direct Docking System DDS in the lower price category ATMOS presents a new generation of portable respiratory tract suction systems. Up to now there was uncertainty when dealing with the hoses â&#x20AC;&#x201C; now that has come to an end:

With the unique features like DDS, ergonomics, design and price ATMOS introduces a whole new standard of respiratory tract suction systems.

Integrated overflow protection Modern Direct Docking System DDS

provide triple safety and an easier processing.

With the innovative ATMOS DDS the hose connection between the suction system and the secretion jar is no longer required: no hose, no problem â&#x20AC;&#x201C; just dock! This procedure guarantees a costeffective processing because malfunction is excluded. Furthermore a depth filter is inserted instead of the usual surface filter. Here the interior filter surface area is with >1 m2 much larger than the existing bacterial filter.

Modern filter technology

The blue translucent cover protects the control elements underneath from external influences, contamination and can easily be slided down. Easy to clean - because of large surfaces.

Cleaning and care of suction devices

General information Please excercise special care whilst handling the device! As it is essential to avoid transmission of germs and illness, the suction device may be solely used by one patient. Please observe the recommendations from ATMOS and you will have a faultless medical product with a long service life! Please observe the following: A daily visual inspection of the device is esential. Always operate the suction device in accordance with the operating instructions. There you will also find useful hints on cleaning and care. Only use disinfectant solutions recommended by ATMOS. Before cleaning the device, make sure the power supply is interrupted (Unplug the device!). Advice for cleaning Prior to cleaning please observe the information and recommendation stated in the relevant operating instructions! Secretion container and Secretion container lid Please empty the secretion container after each use, rinse it thoroughly with warm water and clean it with washingup liquid. Tenacious contaminations can be removed with a clean brush. ATMOS recommends daily disinfection! External casing After each use, wipe the external casing with a clean damp cloth. We recommend disinfection of the external casing at least once a week.

Bacterial filter The bacterial filter prevents bacteria and liquids from seeping into the device. Therefore, make sure the device is operated only with an original ATMOS bacterial filter! Exchange the bacterial filter at least once a week. Immediate change is necessary if it becomes wet or dirty or when the device is used for an other patient. Fingertip The fingertip connects the suction hose with the sterile suction catheter. After each use it must be rinsed with clear water. For hygienic reasons we recommend a change every 2 to 3 days. Suction hose The suction hose must be rinsed at least once a day with one of the recommended disinfection liquids. In addition the hose must be rinsed thorouthly with clear water after each suction process. With frequent use the hoses may become discoloured and get porous therefore ATMOS recommends changing them every 4 weeks. If you follow these recommendations an ATMOS suction device will remain a reliable and hygienically impeccable aid for ambulant, stationary and home care for many years.

Important Advice: In the case of use with another patient it is regulated by law to reprocess the device before further use. We are gladly prepared to perform for you a professional reprocessing of your suction devices.

Alone in Germany there are around 20,000 patients, who are not able to cough up secretion from the respiratory tract. Here a suction device should be available. For the use at home, health insurance companies provide these appliances either brand-new or reprocessed for further use. Unfortunately, it is often common practice that suction devices are reprocessed at a favourable price, but from untrained personnel, and with insufficient means. These devices are dangerous to patients‘ and third persons‘ health. In addition a declining confidence in the professional medical care is the result – especially when a device is oversucked! Especially in the case of lump compensation, it is almost impossible for the care providers to perform a top-quality reprocessing according to manufacturer information, and at the same time cover their costs. For these reasons, patients often get suction devices which are improperly reprocessed. Here the solution is a favourably priced suction device with an oversuction stop, which – when in doubt – can be checked and reprocessed quickly!

These devices have an integrated service indicator, the so-called condensate trap. This indicator enables a quick and cost-saving visual inspection regarding its condition without having to open it. In the case where no discolouring, residues or humidity are visible in the condensate trap, this proves, the device has always been operated properly and a contamination can be ruled out.

If the indicator bears traces of an oversuction, carelessness/ improper use must be assumed. The device must then be submitted for repair to ATMOS or an authorised ATMOS partner. And the costs for repair are considerably higher than for a reprocessing because a repair is much more complex.

Work steps:

Compared with the reprocessing costs for a conventional device, the quick visual inspection enables a reduction in price of up to 40%. Therefore, these C-class suction devices are recommendable for frequent change-over to a new patient. Especially in the case of lump compensation they are the first choice.

The ATMOS negative pressure systems are mobile suction devices for the NPWT. The systems are suitable for the long term application on humans. They are portable, mains-independent and have an electronic monitoring function with an optical and acoustic status display.

The optimum treatment of wounds The Dressing Kit that is supplied together with the ATMOS S 041 Wound contains all components that the nursing staff requires for the treatment of wounds. The insertion of the drain in itself is extremely simple and comfortable:

1. Cleansing of wounds in accordance with the relevant clinical standards and directives.

2. Cut the non-adherent dressing to the size of the wound H.

The objective of the academy is to train both medical practitioners and medical personnel and also service technicians. Firstly certified training events are offered in Germany. „The continuing medical education credits“ are applied for at the relevant regional medical chamber and are credited to the additional training account of the participants.
