Diving guruVa - aaaDiving and water sports centre The diving and water sports centre caters for a range of scuba diving activities suitable for everyone.
Diving is fun at aaaVeee Nature’s Paradise aaaVeee Nature’s Paradise offers wonderful diving opportunities in Dhallu Atoll. The resort is within 40 minutes away from four (4) atoll channels and numerous other dive sites located aroud the island. Dhaalu Atoll is famous for having caves and caverns filled with diverse range of marine life. Diving is provided on our custom made dhoni and usually two (2) dives are done in the morning and one (1) in the afternoon. Divers can also dive the house reef and opt to go on a full day diving or choose to go on a private dive. We also offer night diving, one of the best diving experiences anyone can have. Divers of all levels can enjoy the best dive sites in north-west of Dhaalu atoll. If you are a beginner, we have special introductory courses that new divers can try before deciding to undertake the full course. For certified divers, a number of diving options are available from house reef dives to the more advance dive sites. There are a variety of dive courses for children as well.
Customized diving at aaaVeee For divers who want unique dive experiences, we have customized diving packages suitable for both adults and children. Whether you want to have private diving; a special diving to a specific dive site or want to undertake two (2) night dives on a single day, we can arrange them. Photographers and divers with special needs will find this service extremely useful.
The House Reef of aaaVeee Nature’s Paradise Safe Diving Practices for a comfortable diving holiday • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
30 metres maximum depth for advanced divers or higher certification. Open water divers or equivalent may dive to max 20 metres. No decompression diving. 60 minutes maximum dive time. 50 bars minimum tank pressure. No solo diving and always dive with a buddy. Ascent slowly from every dive. Safety stop of 3 minutes at 5 meters on every dive. All certified divers should carry a surface marker buoy and inflate it at the end of every dive. Protect the underwater world and do not touch or damage any corals while diving. Divers with less than 30 logged dives or who have not dived for more than three months must undertake an orientation dive. All divers must present their diving license and logbook. No diving for 24 hours prior to flying. All divers must wear a dive computer on every dive. No diving with gloves and do not touch, stand on or collect corals. Buddy diving (unguided) on dive boat or house reef will be permitted according to the diver’s level / experience and at the discretion of the dive centre management. Dive centre management may impose restrictions on a diver’s activities on the daily basis of his / her skills and experiences regardless of his / her diving certificate.

Drink plenty of water to stay healthy while diving (at least 2 L per day is recommended). Do not consume alcohol before or after diving.
The house reef of aaaVeee Nature’s Paradise is a large marine park steaming with marine life that constitutes small to large marine animals, colourful soft corals and a complex system of caves and caverns. Caves and caverns are a signature geographical feature of this large reef that is crowded with fish life, colourful sponges, soft corals and a variety of hard corals. There are many swim-through spaces inside these cavenrs that makes it ideal for adventure divers to enjoy and explore this beautiful house reef. The pelagic life is plenty, both at deep and in shallow areas. A dive to the house reef will definitely be worth a try. Divers will need more than few dives to fully explore the house reef.
Diving packages Whether you want to try a single dive or few dives or multiple dives, the centre has options to cater your needs. We have special package deals where divers can take advantage of special discount offers. This is a good option for the hard-core diver. Simply visit our dive centre and choose your choice. Divers can choose between a single dive, 5, 10, 15 or 20 dive packages.
Free underwater breathing experience Try your first breath underwater with an experienced instructor, who will explain you how to use the regulator and breathe easy underwater in the comfort of our beautiful shallow lagoon, free for everyone. This free service is open for everyone including children of ages 8 years and above. Contact the dive centre for timings.
Diving courses Whether you have never dived before or want to advance your existing dive certifications, our dive centre will have something for you. There are a number of courses of varying skill levels including PADI Open Water, PADI Advanced Open Water, PADI Dive Master and specialized courses such as PADI Enriched Air Diver.
Dive sites There are a number of dive sites near aaaVeee Nature’s Paradise that can be reached within 40 minutes. Most dives sites are reached on our custom-made dive dhoni’s. Special dives to distant dive sites such as manta watching can be arranged on request. 20

Local Island Excursions aaaVeee Nature’s Paradise is blessed - to be close to many inhabited islands, sand banks and uninhabited islands. Due to limited exploration of this part of the Maldives, there are still plenty of islands, sand banks and dive sites to explore. Even the nearby inhabited islands are very secluded, as these islands are not exposed to many tourist activities. A true Maldivian holiday can be enjoyed fully by incorporating your holiday with a visit to a local island. There are three islands that can be easily reached on a boat in less than 40 minutes. Our local island excursions will provide the opportunity to see the daily life in rural Maldives. Experience the lives of everyday Maldivians as they go about. There are a number of activities that can be enjoyed during these visits, including observing Maldivian life, local handicraft making, visiting local houses or schools, observing local architecture, mingling and interacting with the locals, observing fishing practices in the islands or visiting historical mosques in the islands. The regular local island excursion features the islands Rinbudhoo, Bandidhoo, and Hulhudheli. Visits to other islands will be organized from time to time. Bookings can be made at the Dive and Water Sports centre.
Dhaalu Atoll Dhaalu Atoll is located in the central region of Maldives. The capital of the atoll is Kudahuvadhoo Island located on the southern tip of the atoll. With an estimated population of 5833, the atoll comprise of approximately 59 islands. Of these, only six (6) islands are inhabited and four (4) islands have been developed as resorts. The most populous island is Kudahuvadhoo with an estimated population of 2443. Presently a domestic airport is under construction in the island of Kudahuvadhoo.

Rin’budhoo (the famous jewellers island) The nearby inhabited island of Rin’budhoo, famously known as the “Jeweller’s Island” is one of the highlights in Dhaalu atoll. With a population of only 278 (2014 census), the island is not overly crowded, and is very quiet and peaceful. People of Rin’budhoo are known for their friendliness and hospitality. Jewellery making is an art passed down by their ancestors over eight centuries ago. According to Maldivian legend, the chief jeweller of the Sultan taught the islanders after getting exiled to Rinbudhoo island for stealing the king’s gold which was in his care. Some of the places to see in Rin’budhoo are: Rin’budhoo Hukuru Miskiiy Popularly known as “Hukuru Miskiiy” (Friday Mosque) by the locals, this mosque is one of the oldest structures standing today in the island. It is believed to be over 250 years old. On one of the pillars of the mosque, there are dent marks resembling the shape of coins. It is highly speculated that it could be marks where once gold coins might have been. The walls of the mosque are built from coral stones, while the ceiling is made from coconut timber, and the pillars from teak. Masjidhuh Noor This is a very recent mosque, and though it lacks the glory and architectural style of 250 years ago, it is part of the island’s cultural and developmental history. Masjidhul Kausar This is a mosque built by volunteer youths of Rinbudhoo. This mosque resembles the hard work of the island’s youth, from material to manual labour. Rinbudhoo School The school was officially opened by the first president of the Maldives, his Excellency, and the late Mr. Mohamed Amin during his days as the home minister in 1953. However, the contemporary building that we see today was built in 1992. 5
Bandidhoo Island
Hulhudheli Island
Bandidhoo island is about 30 minutes away by boat ride. With a population of only 813 (2014 census), the island is not overly crowded, and resembles a typical inhabited village. Most of the houses are made of corals, and the harbour has been recently developed to accommodate large vessels. The island Council has laid restrictions on development in the island and as a result, the island has thick vegetation strips of coconut groove areas as open and park spaces. Guests can see Maldivian life by walking along the narrow streets, or visiting the historical mosques and an old banyan tree. In late afternoon, it is a common practice for locals to fish from the harbour - where they catch fish with the help of a simple home made float.
Hulhudheli is another famous island for jewellery making. The people of Hulhudheli are among the most skilled goldsmiths in the Maldives. The island has beautiful beaches on some areas, thick forest, and a large shallow lagoon perfect for swimming.

Maaen’boodhoo is a big island with a small population formed on a massive coral reef sharing with the famous resort, Niyaama.
Apart from the regular island visits, special visits to the islands of Kudahuvadhoo, Meedhoo and Maaenboodhoo will be organized on request. As these islands are a bit further away from aaaVeee Nature’s Paradise, visits will be organized based on the demand. Please inquire with the guruVa aaaDiving & Water Sports Centre for more details.
Meedhoo Island
Kudahuvadhoo island This is the capital of Dhaalu Atoll and a fast growing island with a population of 2443. A domestic airport is being developed in the island. The island is a regional hub for trade and government offices and other services. Excursions to Kudahuvadhoo island will be organized on request as the island is approximately 30 km from aaaVeee Nature’s Paradise.
Meedhoo island is also a regional centre and an important island with a population of 958. The island has recently being reclaimed to increase land and many important economic activities such as boat building and sand mining are undertaken in this island. Due to its location in the atoll, the island is a vital transit point for vessels passing trhough the atoll from north to south of Maldives. Snorkeling & Other Excursions Fishing excursions Uninhabited Island Excursion Want to try something unique and special? Then visit an uninhabited island or a sand bank. Choose between many, from small to large sank banks. Take your loved ones with you, and spend a day, or half a day - completely secluded from the rest of the world, with nothing but the ocean around you. This is a highly recommended option for everyone, especially honeymooners. Excursions to uninhabited islands are designed to provide the opportunity to experience what a dessert island in Maldives is like. Guests can opt to spend the whole day or spend half day. Activities can be combined or it can be just a relaxing day spent alone. Some prefer to do a combintation of activities such as ecploring the island, snorkeling, swimming and relaxing on the beach. Guests will be taken to the island in the morning and picked up by our team giving you full privacy. Lunch, snacks, water and drinks will be included in the excursion price.
Sand bank excursion Similar to the uninhabited island excursions, guests will be taken to a secluded sand bank where they can enjoy and do whatever they want. Depending on the duration, we may setup sun umbrellas or not which will be done upon request. Snacks, lunch and drinks are included in the price.
Snorkeling excursions Snorkeling excursions allow you to experience the wonders of the underwater world in special locations nearby our resort. It provides the opportunity to explore untouched and unique reefs in Dhaalu atoll where you can swim along the reef and look for giant fish, encounter turtles , see a variety of hard and soft corals, and if you are lucky, see sharks and rays including Mantas. All snorkeling excursions are done on a boat and a guide will be assigned on every tour. Briefings on snorkeling and other precautions such as safety and avoiding damage to coral reefs will be given before every excursion. Life jackets, fins, masks and snorkels are included in the tour package. Snorkeling excursions may sometimes be combined to more than one reef or with a visit to a sand bank or an island.
If you are into fishing, then why not take a fishing trip, either a scheduled or private trip at your convenience. Regular fishing activities are organized by the resort and provide guests the opportunity to experience fishing, the second largest industry in the Maldives. Sunset fishing is the most popular among the activities, but big game fishing and morning fishing tours are also organized by the resort. Guests will have the opportunity to request the chef to prepare the fish st no additional cost the next day.
Lucky Dolphin cruise Dolphins are magnificent creatures that lurk our oceans every day. They often travel in schools and can be watched best on a dolphin cruise where a boat will take you to the open sea. It provides the best opportunity for guests to get close with this fascinating creature, often entertaining you with their traditional swimming patterns and jumps.
Full moon cruise This rare opportunity, only possible during few days a month is something not to be missed. Cruise along Dhaalu Atoll in our traditional dhoni to experience the magic of the full moon on our beautiful environment. Free Sparkling wine provided.

Safety measures Beofre letting guests use any water sports equipment, our staff will brief you on the various safety measures including areas of the house reef to avoid, safe zones to use the various equipments, how to use and how to handle accidents and emergencies. All water sports equipments must be used with a life jacket.
