WHISKEY MYERS
Lauded Americana sextet coming to Evansville in support of self-titled release
VICTORY THEATRE | JUNE 18 | 7 P.M.
It's finally happening. Re-scheduled more than once during the early days of the pandemic, the long-awaited Whiskey Myers show is almost here. But rest assured the tri-state's patience will be duly rewarded. Logging over 2000 performances since 2007, this truly authentic Americana band - led by singer and guitarist Cody Cannon - knows how to connect emotionally with a crowd whether in a huge festival setting or an intimate theater. "You can tell when someone is faking it," Cannon testifies, "and you can tell when it's real." Amen.
Building a career in the music industry the old fashioned way, Whiskey Myers has steadily gained a remarkably strong foothold in the Americana and country genres with a series of acclaimed releases, beginning with 2008's Road of Life. By the time of 2016's Mud, a number one success on the iTunes country chart, the guys were in the driver's seat, riding high on the single "Stone" and selling out venues all over the U.S. and beyond. The band then debuted atop the country and Americana/folk sales charts - and number two on the rock chart - with 2019's self-titled/self-produced album featuring instant classics such as "Die Rockin," "Kentucky Gold," "Houston County Sky" and "Bad Weather."
Currently in the studio working on a follow-up, the six members of Whiskey Myers are primed and ready to get back on the road and bring the music - including some new tunes, fingers crossed - to the people once again after a prolonged layoff. Don't miss this sure-fire electric performance!
