Perhaps we jumped the gun a bit - you know, with that whole "back with a bang" theme on the cover of last month's News 4U. Seems a bit premature now considering the surge in Coronavirus cases across the country but for a brief moment there, it was all systems go. Granted, Vanderburgh County's infection rate remains pretty low comparatively speaking; still, there's an element of unease seeping into the tri-state, a real concern that another shutdown might be looming. We shall see. One thing's certain: the pandemic has completely decimated the summer entertainment schedule in Evansville and beyond. Pretty much every event has either been postponed or canceled. And to pour salt in the wound, the Charlie Daniels Band show - which had been moved from May to September - is offi cially off the books now that Charlie has gone to meet his maker. 6. We had the pleasure of interviewing CD back in March as a lead-up to the originally scheduled spring concert. He was kind and gracious and full of interesting stories - and he'll be sorely missed. So where does that leave us? Well, despite the general lack of entertainment on tap, we are moving forward and presenting you with the 2nd annual Top 20 Women in Business cover story courtesy of the Junior League of Evansville. Get to know some of the most dynamic professionals this area has to offer - and hopefully get inspired in the process. Finally - and not to get too preachy - please consider wearing a face mask when you're out in public, especially inside places of business.
