INTRODUCTION If you are anything like me planning parties and making things pretty come pretty natural. But owning and running a business is killing you and making things not fun anymore. Behind The Veil was created after I struggled with the business part of my business for years. And I know that I'm not alone! Behind the Veil will give you all the tools and foundational support you will need to get your business moving in the right direction. All the things people won't tell you like - how do I pay myself? Or should I be a sole proprietor or an LLC? What's the difference? Through trial and error I found my way. At Behind The Veil you can expect open honest communication and education that will enable you to move from average to amazing! You will gain insight from various speakers and veteran industry professionals covering topics on proper pricing strategies, authentic branding, client operations, and back-end business operations. You will work with photographers to maximize your results, and receive hands on learning in the area of tablescape design, decor budgeting and flower design. These tablescapes created will be staged for our styled shoot and finale celebration. Expect a few goodies from vendors across all corners of the industry, all class course material, and floral supplies and materials for (design) styled shoot. You will also have a chance to have a professional head shot taken by the workshop photographers. We look forward to creating, cultivating and collaborating with you! In its second year and second occurrence, Behind The Veil is the premiere event refresher for wedding and event professionals looking to elevate their process, pricing and potential. SPEAKERS Atosha K. Barboza Bennett is the lead designer and co-owner of Larger Than Life Events and Design. "As long as I can remember my life has revolved around a party or a wedding! I remember hosting parties in High School and inviting local officials to attend. I am a social butterfly!" Larger Than Life Events and Design was officially born in 2004 upon relocating to SC from NJ. What initially started as a social club for Plus size women and men has now evolved into a full-service event planning and design company.
Atosha K. Barboza Bennett
Atosha has planned and designed over 100 social and corporate events in the past 10 years! Atosha loves to create environments where a guest will have a never before experience. What started out as a hobby for friends and family has transitioned to a full-time dream job. Atosha has attended Rutgers University - New Brunswick (international relations) and most recently University of Phoenix and will soon receive her BA in Hospitality Management and Marketing. Atosha cultivates her god-given talents by attending various industry conferences and workshops. She is the only event planner/designer in the illustrious Munaluchi Bride Coterie in South Carolina. Her work has been featured in multiple publications online and in print. Larger Than Life Events and Design was voted "People Choice award Best Florist - 2014 and 2015, Best Event Planner/Designer/Coordinator - RunnerUp and Rising Star. She is also a founding board member for the Charleston Multicultural Bridal and Events Association.

SPEAKERS Coined Ms. Personality, Shaun Cox is known for her liveliness and business savvy. She is the dynamic owner and senior wedding coordinator at A D.I.Y. Affair Weddings and Events. Launched in 2011 after her own wedding planner walked out on her wedding day, Shaun has built her empire by niching her market on wedding coordination and the behind-the-scenes logistics. A two-time award winner of the 2015 and 2016 Wedding Wire Couples Choice Awards, A D.I.Y. Affair Weddings and Events is known for its keep-it-real approach and commitment to couples.

An entrepreneur, mentor, and sought-after educator, Shaun helps aspiring and seasoned wedding planners find their way or get their passion back through her mentoring website, theshauncox.com. She hosts her own bridal show, The Blushing Veil Boutique Bridal Show, and is the co-leader of the Chattanooga Rising Tide’s Tuesdays Together, creative entrepreneurs meet-up. Shaun is also the creator of the 90-10 client consultation model, a couple-centered approach to putting wedding planners in the driver’s seat to showcase their expertise and seal the deal without even mentioning price. Shaun leverages her Chattanooga-based wedding coordination business by serving area couples and mentoring fellow wedding professionals around the country. She believes in community over competition. SPEAKER With eight years in the event production under her belt, Eliana creates unforgettable celebrations while bringing a fresh perspective to the industry. Eliana's background in project management ensures that events goes seamlessly while her eye for design creates memorable events that guests aren't soon to forget. Eliana takes the visions of her clients and magnificently amplifies them into extraordinarily unique experiences. She prides herself on connecting with her clients on a personal level and maintaining relationships long after their special event. SPEAKER Rhonda Patton is a modern floral enthusiast and lead floral stylist of Rhonda Patton Weddings & Events. Her love for horticulture and flowers was cultivated at an early age while frolicking her father’s farm in rural Kentucky. She scored her first wedding in 2001 and now has over 15 years of experience in the floral industry. With a keen eye to detail, she combines personality, contemporary floral artistry, passion and superior design technique to each design.

PHOTOGRAPHER I'm a self taught natural light photographer specializing in custom lifestyle photography & fine art weddings. My goal is to convey a sense of place, personality, and most of all the essence of a moment. I love the simple pleasures in life and just want to capture God’s beautiful creations. I believe that everything God has made is beautiful and I love to capture your authentic and genuine connections.
