“A Million”Reasons

TO CELEBRATE COSTCO’S DEDICATION TO CHILDREN’S HEALTH

Over the course of two decades, Costco locations in Charlotte, Matthews, and Mooresville have together achieved a major milestone in the wholesale retailer’s support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. As of earlier this year, local Costco stores exceeded $1 million in funds raised since 2001 to benefit patients of Levine Children’s Hospital. This year, local membership warehouses joined over 600 Costco locations nationwide to raise funds for lifesaving medical equipment and patient resources at CMN member hospitals.

For one employee of a Mooresville-based Costco location, giving to Levine Children’s brings joy to her life. This year, Bev, a longtime store associate, served as her store’s Children’s Miracle Network Champion, setting an example for her colleagues and encouraging customers to give generously. Bev says the annual Children’s Miracle Network campaign is the “most important thing” to her and that there is “nothing like hearing ‘yes’ when asking people at checkout to make a donation [to CMN].”

When learning about the many programs that make Levine Children’s so special, Bev says she was most inspired by the Child Life program and, as a foster parent herself, understands the importance of alleviating a child’s fears or anxiety during moments of uncertainty. She says she is also inspired by the countless stories shared by customers who’ve been touched by Levine Children’s and other CMN Hospitals.

Bev, Mooresville Store Champion, says the Children's Miracle Network Campaign is the "most important thing" about her work.
