2 Continents 4 Communities 10,670 Lives Dear Friends, Wow! What a year! As I reflect back on our July 2016-June 2017 fiscal year, I am reminded of God’s faithfulness. Through your faithful giving and our strategic programs, our impact this year grew to reach 8,456 lives! That’s children, adults, and families! Over one thousand people were served through a medical clinic in Uganda, including a young adult who had been living with a hole in his body. Amidst our normal programming and community development work, the 2016 Memorial Day Brazos River Flood hit two of the communities we serve very hard, displacing hundreds of families. We are now walking with families through the recovery process and working to make these homes safe and secure. We’ve had so many exciting milestones as an organization this year! One of which is doubling the number of volunteers stepping up to serve; but the number one highlight of this year is the eternal impact that happened for the 72 people who made the decision to follow Jesus! Upon completing our fifth year as an organization, we see God’s goodness and faithfulness carried out by you in six different communities, and we are in awe of the beauty of this work. This year you have joined us as agents of restoration knowing and believing that Jesus restores all things! Thank you.

Together, we are partnering with God to restore hope and healing to the broken places where poverty has ruled for generations, seek the peace, and prosperity for the cities God has called us to. We are deeply grateful to have you by our side as partners in community development. I pray these stories of hope and transformation, in Jesus name, make clear the powerful role you play! To God be the glory,

Richard Logan President & CEO info@attackpoverty.org

Program Update We’ve had three full years of programs at the Friends of North Rosenberg, and it has really been exciting to see individuals becoming empowered, and the transformation of the community. This area was severely impacted during the Memorial Day Flood of 2016, and hundreds of residents were affected by the damaging this storm that flooded the Brazos River along Fort Bend County.

Through the adversity, we were still able to empower individuals and see transformation in this community through countless volunteers and community partners!

Program Update In the 2016-2017 fiscal year, we saw a significant increase in the number of volunteers coming directly from the communities we serve. Residents of the Sundown and Westgreen communities joined us in serving in Sundown Elementary, in You Can Academy, as well as our Mission Week. It is evident that they are beginning to realize that they truly can have an impact and affect change in their very own community and we are encouraged that this is a trend that will continue into the next fiscal year and years to come.

conferences held locally, and the empowerment that has come through new small businesses that have started. We look forward to the next year as we will see the church continue to grow, new students added to the school roster, community development practices fostered, and possibly new strategies develop for surrounding areas. We are grateful for your prayers and participation with us in Uganda! Pictured Above: Children in the Village of Rushere, Uganda
