UNDERSTANDING PUBLIC POLICY AND GOVERNMENT ADVOCACY The AUA is a leading advocate for the specialty of urology and maintains a consistent presence in Washington, D.C. working with lawmakers and regulators to promote and preserve the interests of urologists. The AUA has a long history of promoting legislation and regulation that positively impacts urologists' ability to provide quality patient care. The AUA’s advocacy efforts are varied to ensure the interests of members are made known to a wide array of decision makers.
