MELISSA DURBIN — INFOMERCIAL ME T H AT — Connecting art with the everyday, Melissa Durbin light-heartedly utilises other artists' work to inspire “practical” products intended to reinvigorate dull household chores and mundane personal admin tasks. Video mockcommercials playfully capture the possibility of not coping with careers and the pressures of maintaining, running and cleaning one’s body and home. Durbin questions the often ridiculous, seductive and dissatisfying nature of consumerist culture and its impact.

LINDA JARRETT — ...BUT THE BLACKNESS STILL ABSOLUTE — ...but the blackness still absolute was created through personal experiences and research to explore a visual metaphor that evokes the emotions associated with agoraphobia, an anxiety disorder where the person often feels unsafe in environments and can see no easy way out. This is a condition that often goes unseen and is difficult for others to understand. GALLERY 2 28 MAR - 24 APR OPENING: WEDNESDAY 27 MAR, 5PM

GROUP SHOW — EGO MORPHEUS — Ego Morpheus showcases the works of Don Chooi, Christophe Jannin, Tammie Leong, Pritika Lal, James Murray and Simon Nicholls from Media Design School. Together they present a body of work that represents personal journeys of belonging and performativity. The artists investigate concepts of self, technology, aesthetics and sexuality through a series of paintings, digital prints, video and sculpture. GROUP SHOW — S C AT T E R E D — Separated geographically but connected through ideas, artists Elle Anderson, Toni Hartill and Celia Walker use this situation to inform their group exhibition Scattered. Individual works act as field notes, working drawings, partial renderings and snapshots of travelled landscapes to evoke a sense of shifting horizons and uncertain pathways. Collectively the works form a group response to remembered places. GALLERY 1 & SIDEWALK GALLERY 2 MAY - 30 MAY OPENING: WEDNESDAY 1 MAY, 5PM

GINA ALLISON — KLEI — Gina Allison’s practice consists of hand-built ceramics which challenge our perception of everyday objects. When we encounter an object only one viewpoint is present at one time; frequent interaction with familiar objects enables us to build an image-bank informing our relationship with our environment. In effect, our visual understanding of the world is constructed through a series of fragmented viewpoints. Klei presents works which reveal various hidden angles and viewpoints, through which Allison explores our relationship with the everyday. GALLERY 2 2 MAY - 30 MAY OPENING: WEDNESDAY 1 MAY, 5PM

ANNA REES — W H AT I S LO C A L , ANYWAYS? — Anna Rees’ second solo exhibition examines how globalisation has become integrated into our everyday lives. Through sculptural ceramics, wood craft and pencil drawings Rees explores the concept of connection. What connects us to each other and our communities as traditional boundaries are blurred? How is our sense of belonging altered in this changing environment? GALLERY 3 2 MAY - 30 MAY OPENING: WEDNESDAY 1 MAY, 5PM

SCOTT SAVAGE — THE AMBASSADORS — The Ambassadors is a series of works inspired by motifs in Hans Holbein’s 1533 painting of the same name. These motifs address, most significantly, themes of discord and morality. Each artwork serves as a symbolic yet playful interpretation of these themes, both witty and tactile in nature. This series is an extension of the show, Carnal Treasures (2018) produced in response to Hieronymus Bosch’s The Garden of Earthly Delights (14951505). It features, again, Nonimal figures Savage is becoming known for.

MĀPURA — PRESS ANY KEY* — Press Any Key* is an exhibition of new works made collaboratively by artists in the Māpura Studio programme. The artists utilise a range of digital technologies alongside more traditional mediums to construct an immersive group installation. The works showcase the artists' unique creative personalities and also reflect their experiences living with disability. GALLERY 1, 2 & SIDEWALK GALLERY 6 JUN - 4 JUL OPENING: WEDNESDAY 5 JUN, 5PM

PA U L C H A P M A N — BARE — Paul Chapman presents Bare, a new series of body focused portraits that explores the traditions of the photographic medium through his subject, Ryan. Through the physical act of being photographed, Ryan is confronted with his relationship to his body and the representation of ‘self’ in image form. The trust of friendship is pivotal in these photographs, where intimate moments of confidence and vulnerability are captured. Chapman’s unrehearsed shoots use available light and are shot in domestic locations. The chiaroscuro lighting echoes feelings of self-doubt and assurance. A literal representation of a mood with light and dark and the spaces we can occupy between them.

CÉLINE SAYÉ — V I S A G E S M U LT I P L E S — Céline Sayé is interested in the psychology of self-expression in contemporary photography. Visages Multiples is a multimedia work that includes photographic prints and a sound recording. It explores her experience of grief after the loss of her father, her re-connection to small, beautiful moments in life, and her father’s poetry. The imagery reflects the mysterious phenomenon that is life and alludes to its ongoing flux between complexity and simplicity, darkness and enjoyment, fear and serenity.
