24 –26 March, from 8pm, Pukekawa | Auckland Domain
SPARK Auckland is an outdoor event experiencedin a designated area of an open field and is to be viewed after sunset. There is no rain shelter on site, so we suggest that you bring a raincoat in the event of light rain – though please note that SPARK Auckland cannot operate under extreme weather conditions. Please remember to wear shoes suitable for use on grass. You may bring your own chairs and/or blankets to sit on. Alcohol is not permitted at this event.
Entry Times
The site will open from 7.30pm. The display will begin shortly after 8.00pm and close at approximately 11.00pm. You will be able to enter and exit at any time during the eventand spend as much time as you like within the viewing area.
Ticket Registrations
This is a free event. Ticket registrations are encouraged which helps us manage capacity and messaging, but we also welcome everyone to come along even if you haven’t pre-registered.
Getting to the Domain
SPARK Auckland will take place at Pukekawa/Auckland Domain on grassland near the Wintergardens. There will be two pedestrian entrances located on the North and South of Football Road.

We encourage you to use public transport to travel to the event site, which is within easy walking distance of Park Road, Lower Domain Drive and Domain Drive. Please be aware that road closures will be in place and car parking adjacent to the Domain is limited. More information on road closures can be found below.
The closest train stations are Grafton Station and Newmarket Station. There are INNER LINK bus stops along Park Road, Parnell Road and Broadway as well as OUTER LINK bus stops on Parnell Road and Broadway. Nearby carparks are indicated on the venue map.
Wheelchair Accessibility
The SPARK Auckland site is wheelchair accessible from both the North and South entrances. A designated dropoff area for those with accessibility requirements will be located near the junction of Football Road and Little George Street. Access will be managed by stewards.
Weather
SPARK Auckland is an outdoor event. There is no rain shelter on site, so we suggest that you bring a raincoat in the event of inclement weather–though please note that SPARK Auckland cannot operate under extreme weather conditions. If a cancellation is required, a message will be sent via email to all ticketholders, on our website and media alerts will go out to all major news organisations.
Alcohol
This is not a licensed event and alcohol will not be permitted or sold on site. Bag searches may be conducted at the gate. The Festival reserves the right to remove intoxicated people from the site.
Animals
Owners are welcome to bring wellbehaved dogs on leads, though do remember that this event will be run in darkness, which may cause heightened anxiety for animals.
Toilets
Portable toilets will be available on site near both entrances.
Catering
There will be several food and beverage vendors operating at SPARK Auckland: Addicted Coffee; Hero Coffee; Local Legend Eats; VEGVAN; Gully Grub; Karaage Boy & Soba & Co; Let’s Brezel; Sweet as Bowl. These vendors will be located near both the North and South site entrances. Please note that there are no cash facilities on site.
Music
SPARK Auckland is designed without amplified music and a quiet, almost ethereal experience. You may however wish to bring your own device and earpieces to create a personalised soundscape.
Other Information
In order to maximise the effectiveness of the display, lighting on site will be limited. Please take care when moving in and around the site and follow any instructions given by staff, stewards and volunteers.

Timings: 18:00 - 23:59
Wintergarden Road will be restricted to authorised vehicles only from 20 –28 March 2023 (06:00–18:00).
Football Road will be restricted to authorised vehicles only from 20 – 28 March 2023 (06:00 –23:59).
Conditions of Entry
We reserve the right to:
• Conduct bag and security checks
• Prevent unauthorised commercial and promotional activity
• Refuse entry to anyone:
- with prohibited items (including but not limited to alcohol, illegal substances, weapons, drones or any items that may affect the enjoyment of the display, at the discretion of the organiser)
- intoxicated or disorderly
- who does not comply with bag or personal searches
- who does not comply with a request from the organisers, security or regulatory bodies
