Players chanting the words in the locker room after finishing in their highest position!
Alexander Joseph is a singer /songwriter and sports conditioning coach who has spent the majority of his life combining his two big passions of music and sport. I first came across his work through the track GB 365 featuring the GB women's wheelchair basketball team.
I spent a year working with the team as their fitness coach and, during this time, the head coach and players came up with a slogan to help unite the team on their journey to the world champs and Paralympic Games. "GB 365" was chosen and represented everyones complete and unshakable commitment to the team, 365 days a year, whether training, competing or resting! I ended up joking with the head coach about writing a song to capture this message, and before long I was performing a live acoustic version of GB 365 during a training session before they left for the world champs, which would also end up being my leaving present to the team!
When thinking of his sound, I get some 80’s vibes coming through with a touch of Coldplay and pop rock ballad vibes.
I learnt piano from a young age, but gave it up as a teenager to pursue guitar so I could play along to my favourite Oasis or Nirvana songs in an enthusiastic yet slightly raw sounding school rock band. How times have changes since then! I now have a small studio at home, where I lay down my ideas...
