Mastering the art of real estate (and giving back to the Holy Trinity community)

Buying and selling real estate can be one of the most stressful times in your life. I would love the opportunity to ease this stress, and help you make the transition smooth. A portion of all home sales involving Holy Trinity parishioners and parents goes back to the school. The spring market is about to heat up, I would love to hear from you.

WELCOME

Welcome to Eyrie Theatre Company’s presentation of Beauty and the Beast, Jr. We are so excited and grateful you are here, and we hope you have a great time in this wonderful venue! Beauty and the Beast, Jr. is not only a show filled with great music, big dance numbers and fantastic characters, it also has a strong and relative message of understanding that you can’t judge what is inside a person from their outward appearance. If you have the patience and wisdom to look beyond the surface, you can begin to understand the true beauty that lies within a person. That message is one that we at Holy Trinity and Eyrie Theatre Company, especially, emphasize with our students. We are dedicated to building community, first and foremost. Our theatre community is a place where students can take risks, step out of their comfort zones and gain a different perspective in a place that is safe and accepts everyone. We work very hard to see beyond the surface and recognize each student’s special gifts and talents. We are privileged and blessed to be a part of helping students discover their special gifts and talents. We are beyond proud to offer the opportunity to participate in theatre to students from kindergarden through eighth grade. Eyrie Theatre Company started ten years ago with 19 students. Our program has grown to include 290 students, or 40% of our student body, participating in musical theatre for the 2019-20 school year! Thank you so much for coming to the show to support Holy Trinity’s Eyrie Theatre Company. Enjoy the show!

First and foremost, welcome to the Eifler Theater and this year’s performance of Beauty and the Beast, Jr. We are thrilled you can join us for this dynamic show. Mrs. Harrington and the entire cast and crew have worked exceptionally hard on this production over the last six months and have built an outstanding theater community along the way. Our Eyrie Theatre Company continues to grow, with over 290 students participating in our musical theater programs this year. We are extremely proud of the talent and passion these students and adults possess to put on such incredible performances. Holy Trinity is a blessed, Catholic community unlike any in the Archdiocese of Louisville. It is one where a few short years ago we had a dream of a state-of-the-art theater for our students, and now we have the space where that dream can be realized. We are in an aggressive and bold campaign to renovate this theater not just for our students, but for students across the entire Archdiocese and City of Louisville. We believe all students should have the opportunity to follow their passions and dreams and do so in a place that can showcase their talents to the fullest. We are trying to raise one million dollars by May of this year. This money will go toward a new stage floor, wiring, lights, sound equipment, a rigging system, and to make the space energy efficient. If we can raise this money by May, we can make this dream of a state-of-the-art theater a reality for next year's musical theater program. As in Beauty and the Beast, Jr., we would be thrilled if you joined us on this journey to bring this theater back into its former glory. Read more about the project and fundraising efforts on page 16. Thank you so much for your support of Holy Trinity’s Eyrie Theatre Company. We hope you enjoy the show!

FOR EVERY CHILD

An interview with Father Bill Bowling

What are the initiatives behind the fundraising efforts for the For Every Child Campaign? Fr. Bill: There are four initiatives for the campaign: 1. Build fully accessible playgrounds on our existing school property so that all children may be able to play together. During our preparation for this year’s spring musical, we had the opportunity to talk with Holy Trinity's Father Bill Bowling about the For Every Child Campaign and what it means for the parish and community. This is an exciting era in our parish as we are breaking new ground in our school ministry. How did the For Every Child Campaign come about and why is it important to our parish and community? Fr. Bill: This campaign was borne out of the strategic plan conducted approximately five years ago in which our community expressed a strong desire to build a theater on our own campus. Another key initiative that was identified in that strategic plan was a strong desire for HT to serve more children that our school was currently able to serve. Ironically, this initiative has also been on the Archdiocesan strategic plan for many years. 16

2. Renovate the nursery that is available to parishioners during our worship services. 3. Open the first Catholic school for children with language-based learning differences. 4. Renovate the Eifler Theater. What are the benefits of restoring Eifler Theater (Clifton Center) and what is needed? Fr. Bill:The Eifler Theater dates back to 1929. It is a beautiful, historic building in need of many renovations, including but not limited to: • Modernizing sound, video and light equipment • Installation of a new stage floor and curtains • Implement renovations to meet current building code, including but not limited to a lift to the stage,

a catwalk, balcony, ventilation systems, modernizing dressing rooms and restrooms.

What are the fundraising goals and timelines, when will the projects begin and how long before they are completed?

Why is it important to provide these opportunities for the children in our community?

Fr. Bill: I am proud of the Holy Trinity community taking the lead on important projects that serve the children in our community. To date, we have raised over Fr. O U R 8 T H G R A D E R S : A F I N A L C U R TA I N C A L L It is always special to hear about the gratitude and affection these students have for Holy Trinity and Eyrie Theatre Company. On the following pages, you will find our awesome eighth graders and what their experience meant to them. Bravo eighth graders and good luck next year! Lucia Rodriguez Agusti (Narrator): I am proud to be part of this year’s production of Beauty and the Beast. I have been participating in this theatre program for two years, my sixth and eighth grade year. I plan, along with everyone else, to end on a bang, which has motivated us to put on the best show in the history of Holy Trinity. Thank you for coming and enjoy the show! Hamilton Atkins (Gaston): When I joined the play in seventh grade, I didn’t know what it was going to be like. I’ll tell you now, I’m glad I joined because of how much fun it really is. The best part wasn’t the fun that I had doing it, but the people that I performed with. My biggest regret so far in my years at Holy Trinity is not joining theater in sixth grade. Lainey Bayer (Silly Girls; Plates): There is no better word to describe the Eyrie Theatre Company than family. Yes, our shows are amazing, but it's because of the incredible bond that brings us all together. Nothing has been more inspiring than the experience I've had over the past couple years with this company. Here's to the countless rehearsals, new and old friends, and memories that will last a lifetime. Here's to a family that words cannot describe how much I will miss. 18

Amelie Beck (Silly Girls): I have made so many memories here at Eyrie Theatre Company. I remember when I was younger and would go watch my brother in the plays. I would sit there and think how amazing it must feel to be on stage in front of such a huge crowd. The first time I went on stage is a moment I will never forget. My heart just about pumped right out of my chest. The lights were so blinding, I couldn’t see faces, only silhouettes. I did the dance, and then just like that, the stage went black again and I ran off. Eyrie Theatre Company inspires me every day and will continue to for the rest of my life. Bella Bootes (Old Woman / Enchantress): Participating in the Holy Trinity theatre program has been a great experience. It not only helped me gain confidence but to also meet and hang out with a lot of new people and have fun. I would encourage anyone to do the same! Max Camomot (Village Men): One thing I like about the play is that I get to talk to people not in my grade. Another thing is Mrs. Harrington, she makes sure that everyone is satisfied with their part and the play as a whole. William Davis (Maurice): I have really enjoyed my time with The Eyrie Theatre Company. I enjoyed the sense of determination within the cast and crew to make the show the best it can be each year. McKenna Eckert (Mrs. Potts): Eyrie Theatre Company has been filled with nothing but fun, laughs and some of my favorite memories at Holy Trinity. The first year I could participate in the junior high play, I was hesitant to join, but I did it anyway. I have never thought

O U R 8 T H G R A D E R S : A F I N A L C U R TA I N C A L L of not doing the play since being part of the company that first year. If you do the play you get to develop so many new friendships and make so many great memories. If you are thinking about doing the play, do it. I promise you, you will not regret joining the family one bit. Phoebe Fulton (Lady with a Cane): I have had a great experience with musical theatre at Holy Trinity. I’ve always liked how everyone helps each other out and makes every practice fun. The play is always something I have looked forward to and it is one of my favorite things about Holy Trinity. Luke Gadansky (Monsieur D’Arque): I love this company and appreciate

Mrs. Harrington for the last three years. From starting off in the Lollipop Guild, to Papa Bear, to finishing as Monsieur D’Arque, the Eyrie Theater Company has been the best experience for me. If you are a student thinking of doing drama club, do it. The friends and memories I made will last forever. Tyler Georgel (Village Men): I was a part of Shrek last year, and now I’m in Beauty and the Beast, Jr. I started out as part of the crew and this year I decided to be an actor. I wanted to be a part of these shows because I’d like to pursue acting or film producing in my future. I believe that the power of storytelling and acting can change a life!

Elena Herr (Village Lady): The thing I liked most about the theatre program was the people. During these six months I have gotten closer with my peers and I have really had a good time. This is an experience you will remember forever.

Sarah Keal (Marie; Baker’s Assistant): Being in the play was something I hadn’t tried before. I learned so many new things and loved spending time with my friends!

Lily Kraft (Narrator): The Holy Trinity Theatre program is such a blast! It has brought me closer to so many people and made me step out of my comfort zone. I’m so happy to have had the opportunity to be a part of it.

Grayson Salter (Village Men): I loved being part of the Beauty and the Beast play this year. It allowed me to try something new and meet new people and I would recommend everyone to try it.
